A year after its debut, "Ms. Marvel" remains one of the best parts of Marvel Studios TV. The show was a funny, grounded yet fantastical superhero story with a refreshing focus on life outside of heroics filtered through the lens of a Disney Channel show. It grappled with complex history, like when it portrayed the Partition of India, while also giving us a delightfully absurd live-action version of a reverse harem anime, with a little bit of John Hughes sprinkled in there for good measure.
Though Kamala Khan hasn't got her own movie yet, "The Marvels" is the best implementation of movie/TV synergy from the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. No, not because it makes the transition seamless. On the contrary, bridging the movies and the TV is quite messy. Unless you are caught up, the movie does very little to...

"The Marvels" is one of the funniest Marvel movies ever. Much of why it is successful as a film comes down to it being not just a sequel to the hugely successful "Captain Marvel," but a sequel to the best yet most underrated Disney+ Marvel show, "Ms. Marvel." The Khan family is utterly hilarious, and they offer a nice new dynamic for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a group of just regular people tied up in superpowered chaos. Granted, Luis (Michael Peña) and the rest of the Ant-Man gang were also regular people entangled in bigger plots, but they didn't go to space!
Iman Vellani is a star, a breath of fresh air to the MCU as a character who is endlessly enthusiastic about her powers and living in a world of heroes. She is not Peter Parker, who started out very...

Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels is a grounding contribution to a gluttonous and increasingly perplexing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The conventional film pulsates with a quiet force propelled by the sincere bond between its three protagonists. Brie Larson reprises her role as Carol Danvers, the amnesiac pilot from the 2019 blockbuster Captain Marvel; Teyonah Parris is Monica Rambeau, whom viewers saw in WandaVision; and relative newcomer Iman Vellani is Kamala Khan, the star of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. DaCosta’s kinetic direction and intimate storytelling style lets audiences see this trio — whose lives collide in unexpected ways — from new and entertaining vantage points.
The Marvels picks up where Captain Marvel left off. Flashbacks in the first half hour provide a broad framework, but it’s worth revisiting the disjointed predecessor — in which Danvers vowed to end the genocidal war between the Kree and Skrulls — for firmer footing. DaCosta, Elissa Karasik and...

“The Marvels” final trailer has confirmed a super-cameo from Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.
The new footage debuted during ABC and ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast, and certified fan speculation that Thompson’s “Thor”-franchise hero would appear in the film, partially because she starred in “The Marvels” director Nia DaCosta’s critically acclaimed 2018 debut feature “Little Woods.”
The MCU’s latest movie, which hits U.S. theaters on Friday, stars three heroes — Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Oscar winner Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). The trailer looks back at The Avengers’ war against Thanos — including the short team-up sequence where all the MCU’s super-women rally behind Captain Marvel — and sets up the stakes for the trio as they face a formidable new enemy, the Kree revolutionary Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton).

For all the headlines about the Marvel Cinematic Universe of late, surprisingly few have been focused on the franchise's latest film release, "The Marvels". The movie itself acts as a sequel to far more than Brie Larson's initial solo outing as Carol Danvers in 2019's "Captain Marvel," bringing in the grown-up Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) from "WandaVision" and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) from "Ms. Marvel" for a body-switching adventure that also picks up a key story thread involving Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and his newly-revealed Skrull wife Varra (Charlayne Woodard) from "Secret Invasion."

It's no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn't been quite as dominant over the past couple of years as it was in the lead-up to 2019's "Avengers: Endgame." Back then, the Marvel machine felt truly unstoppable. Now, in no small part thanks to the deluge of shows on Disney+ and movies like "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" that were met with a lukewarm response, the empire is beginning to crack. But the house that Kevin Feige built is very aware of the issues at hand and they are actively looking to course correct. It turns out part of that correction may involve bringing back the original Avengers team.
A new report from Variety details the behind-the-scenes goings on at Marvel Studio to address the current issues. One of the most eye-catching parts of the report suggests that an upcoming "Avengers" movie could reunite some of the original stars that...

Six months after suffering his first defeat in the boxing ring, Jake Paul has earned a bounce-back win. In front of a sold-out crowd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Paul defeated former UFC fighter Nate Diaz over ten rounds.
With the win, Paul improved his official boxing record to 7-1. Several of his wins have come against one-time UFC greats, such as Diaz, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva. His only loss came this past February, when fellow influencer Tommy Fury handed him a split decision loss.
If there was any doubt that Paul was ready to move past his biggest in-ring disappointment, he made that intention clear as soon as his fight against Diaz began. The fighter known as “The Problem Child” came out swinging from the opening bell and nearly dropped Diaz in the first round. He did score a knockdown in the fifth round, but Diaz...

The evening of April 12 was quite the wild ride on social media, as Liam Payne and Tommy Fury both added posters of them facing off on their Instagram feeds. The mock-up design looked very similar to posters publicising big boxing fights, as the profile of the One Direction singer faced the former "Love Island" star with the words "Old Trafford" and "This Summer" between them.
Naturally, the internet went into a meltdown, assuming a huge celebrity boxing match was in the cards. The idea wasn't beyond the realm of possibility either, considering Fury recently beat US YouTuber Jake Paul in the ring just days after he became a dad – he even dedicated his win to baby Bambi and girlfriend, Molly-Mae. But fans weren't impressed with Payne's career change.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back in business, and from our first look at Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels, it’s a woman’s world. Well, a woman’s cosmos. The sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel brings Brie Larson back as Carol Danvers, while WandaVision standout Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Cap superfan Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) from Ms. Marvel are along for the ride.
Donning his eyepatch for more, Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury, and as the bald badass played a crucial role in Danvers’ origin story, it’s only right he’s back by her side. It’s a big year for Jackson, and after leading Secret Invasion in June, he’s blasting off into space for The Marvels in November. While the many time jumps, Blips, and the Multiverse have confused the timeline, some fans think The Marvels just spoiled Secret Invasion.

The first trailer of all-female-led movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “The Marvels,” has been released online, and there is much to discuss in the first team-up movie of the fifth phase of MCU narrative progression. Being a direct sequel to “Captain Marvel” (2019), the movie will feature Brie Larson’s character of the same name, aka Carol Danvers, and also two of the legacy characters of Captain Marvel: Captain Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. Aside from exploring the sprawling vastness of the MCU’s universe, the movie will be of significant importance, as after the D.C.E.U.’s “Birds of Prey,” it’s only the second comic-book-based venture to explore a female team-up dynamic. To help viewers assess what they can expect from the movie, I will try to highlight the key points shown in the trailer and discuss them accordingly.

Carol Danvers, her supporting cast, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole have all come a long way since our very first tease of Brie Larson's space-faring superhero. Most would agree that the 2019 film did an adequate job of establishing the origin story for the eponymous Captain Marvel, tying together her Air Force background, a test flight gone horribly awry, and her subsequent team-up with a young, pre-eyepatch Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) against the perceived threat of the shapeshifting Skrulls and the sinister Supreme Intelligence. After saving the world once again in "Avengers: Endgame" and making brief cameos in both "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" and "Ms. Marvel," the Disney+ series starring Iman Vellani as the lovable Kamala Khan, we've yet to see the energy-blasting superhero back in action ... until now.

Captain Marvel! Ms. Marvel! Monica Rambeau! Nick Fury!
Like most Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels brings back familiar characters, all on display in the first trailer for the 2023 movie. However, less familiar to even hardcore comic book readers is the movie’s villain, Kree warrior Dar-Benn, played by English actor Zawe Ashton, who makes her debut in this trailer.
Watch it below:
The trailer focuses on catching up with our marvelous heroes, most of whom we haven’t seen in a while. The trailer opens with Nick Fury on a space station (apparently he’ll make it through Secret Invasion just fine), conducting experiments with Monica Rambeau, the Sword agent we met as an adult in WandaVision. But when she uses her powers, Monica switches places with young hero Kamala Khan, repeating the spacial swapping we saw in the post-credits of Ms. Marvel. When...

The Marvels looks set to host one of the best superhero team-ups in Marvel Cinematic Universe history.
After being delayed countless times, the confirmed release date is now November 10.
Marvel dropped the trailer during Tuesday's Good Morning America, and it looks like another winner for the company.
The flick features Iman Vellani, reprising the role she played in the Disney+ original series Ms. Marvel.
She will be joined by MCU veterans Brie Larson as Carol Danvers and Teyonah Parris as Monic Rambeau.
Danvers was last seen in the post-credit scene for Ms. Marvel, in which she swapped places with Kamala.
Monica had a significant presence on WandaVision and was last seen at the end of the limited series as she was sent a message to meet Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson).

Logan Paul‘s first year as a professional wrestler has been eventful. Since making his Wrestlemania debut last April, the elder Paul brother has made dramatic entrances into the ring, endured a knee injury, and texted with ring legends. He will now begin the next chapter in his WWE career after re-upping his contract with the Connecticut-based company.

Out on the edge of the Mojave Desert, a cop pulls over a speeder. Arrogantly approaching the apprehended speeder's car, he casually asks the driver what's in the trunk. The driver (Fox Harris) ominously replies, "You don't want to look in there." This, of course, makes the cop suspicious, so he decides to look anyway. When the trunk swings open, a horrifying red light spills out. The cop attempts to shield his eyes, but the red light quickly vaporizes his body. Only the cop's boots are left behind, his smoking remains dispersing into the desert breezes. The speeder pulls away.
