Jennifer Beauvais
Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. She specializes in Body-Centered Psychotherapy and trauma therapy. Jennifer has also trained and practiced in Synergetic Play Therapy, Infant Mental Health, Brainspotting, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, among other modalities; she is specially qualified to provide expert consultation for trauma across the lifespan. She provides a deep understanding of how perceptions are created, not just through emotion and thought, but in how these are experienced through the body. As an athlete, Jennifer applies her body of work to understanding the body-mind in sports and injury recovery. Her work also spans to body-centered approaches to nature-based practices, and cross-religious and mythological studies.
Jennifer graduated with an MA in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, CO, and a BS in Social Science from California Polytechnic State University. She also minored in anthropology and geography. Before embarking on her career as a psychotherapist, she worked over the course of a decade for the US Forest Service as a wilderness and snow ranger, as well as on a trail crew.
