- Took an interest in singing, playing the piano, and songwriting at a very young age.
At the age of thirteen she became a member of a female quintet called Younique.
Green received her big break at the age of nineteen when she became a backing up singer for Jill Scott, who took her on an international tour. - She was signed to Columbia Records in November 2001, and 1 year later on 12 November 2002 released her first album "A Love Story" (RIAA certified gold). It featured the hits "Emotional Rollercoaster", "Fanatic", and "What Is Love". After a 3 year hiatus, on 31 May 2005 she had hits "Gotta Go Gotta Leave (Tired)" and "Cursed" from her second album "Vivian".
- During her 2 1/2 year hiatus she had Jordan with former fiancé Erik Tribbet. Tribbet is a drummer from nearby Camden, New Jersey. Green & Tribbet are no longer in a relationship.
