From the opening of Yamamoto Satsuo’s first entry in the Shinobi series, Band of Assassins, we’re thrust into a tangled web of battling clans, all vying to be the first to kill bloodthirsty warlord Oda Nobunaga (Wakayama Tomisaburô). Even within individual factions, duplicity reigns supreme, with all the double crosses and dual identities obfuscating and complicating the motives of every virtually every major character. The film tends toward convolution through the flurry of personal and clan names constantly being introduced, but this tactic of disorientation is ultimately a deliberate and effective one that’s very much in line with the tactics deployed by its ninjas.
Among all these embittered and embattled clans is Ishikawa Goemon (Raizo Ichikawa), a highly skilled young ninja looking to quickly rise through the ranks. Like many of the lower-level ninjas and samurai in Band of Assassins, he, too, falls victim to the Machiavellian...

Ubisoft first announced Assassin’s Creed Shadows in late 2022 under the title Assassins’ Creed Red. While we didn’t know much about the game, rumors swirled around for quite some time about its overall narrative and setting. Finally, after years of waiting, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was recently revealed with a cinematic trailer and confirmed release.
Although some in the community aren’t particularly happy with Ubisoft’s decision to bring a Black protagonist in a game set in Japan, the trailer has been well-received. Players are excited to see what the developers bring to the table with the next iteration of the popular franchise. While the official cinematic trailer gave us a look at the game’s setting and character, it also confirmed one feature that was last seen in Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is Ubisoft’s latest entry into the classic franchise. From the details shared so far, it looks like the company is going all-in to revitalize a core part of the series—stealth—and let people live out their Shinobi dreams.
According to a recent interview that the game’s studio participated in, there’s going to be a lot of stealth mechanics that cleverly make use of the environment—something we’ve not seen in the industry for a long time.

Assassin’s Creed has been an integral part of gaming history, with a long run filled with games that range from the greatest of all times to some of the most mediocre out there. It’s like fast food—sometimes you get the tastiest stuff you’ve ever tasted, and other times you end up contracting diarrhea.
Whichever side of discourse one may lie on, it’s difficult to deny the excitement and anticipation another entry in this series generates. With the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows, though, some are questioning whether today’s games in the series can even be called Assassin’s Creed or not.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Latest Leak Has Left Many Excited and a Few Understandably Unhappy Fans have long wondered whether Assassin’s Creed even has an identity at this point.
Assassin’s Creed has evolved since the days of Altair and Ezio, diverging quite a bit from its origins in the process.

Madara Uchiha played a prominent role in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto series as one of the prime antagonists, who gave a tough time to the Allied Shinobi Forces during the Fourth Ninja War. The Ghost of Uchiha was a legendary shinobi whose name struck fear in the hearts of people. As a result, his name alone forced the five Shinobi Nations to join hands, something that had never happened before.
Madara Uchiha in Naruto Shippuden
The character has had a number of iconic moments in the series and without a doubt one of the strongest villains with numerous ninjutsu techniques such as Tengai Shinsei, Demonic Statue Chains, Gunbai Fanned Wind, and Mangekyo Sharingan’s Susanoo. However, fans have come up with an intriguing theory, as they believe that the Devil of all Shinobi’s Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan’s secret ability was not Susasnoo but time traveling.

Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto has only risen in popularity 25 years after its initial release, continually enjoyed by its global fans across different generations. During the time of the series’ release, Kishimoto-san was struggling as a mangaka, but this series changed everything as it established him as one of the greatest mangakas with unparalleled skills in storytelling, equipped with intricately crafted characters.
Naruto Uzumaki
The manga became so popular that in 2002, the manga received its anime adaptation, and it instantly became a fan-favorite series. Even though the anime series came to a conclusion in 2017, it sits comfortably at #13 in Ann’s list of ‘Top 500 Most Popular’ anime in history. Despite the series always being kept in high regard by the fans, they are throwing a fit after a giant Monkey D. Luffy mascot shows up in Paris.

Masashi Kishimoto has always been very careful in crafting the characters in both Naruto and Boruto. That is not to say that Eiichiro Oda doesn’t pay attention to One Piece characters. Quite the contrary, seeing that both the mangaka have excellently developed some of the most loved characters in the shonen genre altogether.
A still from Kishimoto’s Naruto.
Through the various characters, there have been depictions of characters that go beyond realms of black and white and into the grey area of blurring complexity. A character can be morally white or morally grey, but what makes them even better is when these two hemispheres start to collide, forming a constant struggle to understand moral standing.

A long-standing Shonen anime like Naruto is bound to have a few deaths. After all, it’s a series about the fight for the Shinobi’s way of life and not just a comedy anime. Masashi Kishimoto develops his characters to the point that fans can relate to all of them.
So when a character dies, they are genuinely mourned. However, some deaths could have been avoided in Naruto and fans think Neji’s is one of them.

When Hidetaka Miyazaki announces a game, fans are aware of two things for certain. First, it’s going to have some rich lore that is not provided as simple exposition. The second is that the combat system is going to be challenging but also rewarding.
The president of FromSoftware is known for creating games with a high learning curve. It’s not uncommon for people to entirely give up his titles, as one boss was just not letting them progress. But, for those who persevere, Miyazaki has a very special reward system in almost every game of his.

One of the coolest elements in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto was the names given to the moves, characters, villages, etc. While they did not always have much influence on the story, they made Naruto more appealing to anime and manga fans. One such name was Gaara, a Shinobi, and the Kazekage of Sunagakure.
Gaara of the Sand
Gaara was the first character to achieve the title of Kage in Naruto’s generation. He initially was introduced as a villain as he was the jinchuriki of the one-tailed Shukaku, but later on, he shifted towards the good side and became one of the most prominent characters in the series, especially during the Fourth Great Ninja War, in which he was the commander in chief.
Kishimoto once revealed that he initially came up with a different name for Gaara. However, his editor was not too happy with the name, and he suggested the name “Gaara.

Games directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki have distinctive elements that make his work stand out from the rest of the competition. One of these aspects is the way the FromSoftware President approaches the combat in his titles, which often stays consistent with each subsequent release, giving a sense of uniformity to the games.

FromSoftware’s Dark Souls franchise is no doubt very popular. Elden Ring might be a blockbuster, but one must not forget that this is the franchise that led to Elden Ring. This is why Dark Souls will always have a special place in the hearts of all FromSoftware fans out there, probably forever. But one thing that fans can’t help but wonder is where the developer intends to take this series next.
Series creator and director Hidetaka Miyazaki has been asked this question multiple times, and all those times he has chosen to be very cryptic about answering it. It’s understandable too, given how they are always working on a new game, and talking about some other franchise while in the process of releasing another game can complicate things a bit. But recently, he became clear about his intentions for making Dark Souls 4.

The Akatsuki is a worldwide known evil faction from the Naruto franchise. Their motive was to capture all the tailed beasts. Capturing a tailed beast is no matter of joke, so they recruited the best rogue shinobi who had unique abilities and were strong enough to fulfill the goal. One of the members of the Akatsuki was Kakuzu.
Kakuzu was the oldest member of the Akatsuki and had faced the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, and managed to escape with his life. But people often disrespect him and call him weak. Even though he faced the Hashirama Senju, he lost against a teenager named Naruto Uzumaki. While many have questioned Kakuzu’s abilities, it does not need to be said that he is indeed one of the strongest shinobi to ever live.

Adult Swim’s latest Shinobi series is back with its fourth episode, and once again, we have a perfectly balanced episode to watch. I had thought that Ninja Kamui would be more about mindless action, which I’m honestly not very fond of, but in this episode, the series ends up exploring Higan, Mari, and Zai’s shared past. It’s a pretty nice touch, I must say, and it even adds another layer of complexity to Higan and Zai’s relationship. Personally, I used to watch anime quite a lot when I was in school but stopped resonating with the majority of anime, thanks to the high school-based plotline and childish characters they tend to have. But then, here we are with an anime that is actually aimed at an older audience.

Adult Swim’s new action-revenge anime Ninja Kamui has already garnered a blooming fan following, getting identified as one of the best anime of 2024. I think even I am already hooked on this series, as it airs every week. Audiences who enjoy gore in anime might even love this anime. I suppose that with Netflix’s House of Ninjas, which came out quite recently, and then Ninja Kamui, there has been an increase in demand for the shinobi genre. Personally, I have been a fan since I watched Naruto in 7th grade, and watching Ninja Kamui is quite a treat for people who love this fandom.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is currently reaching the heights of its popularity as a narrative, and the manga has completed the time jump and began releasing the post-time skip storyline of the series, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
The official follow-up series Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is set three years after the events of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and is very different from the former in terms of both subject matter and approach. With the assistance of Eida’s power at the end of the first series, Kawaki firmly established his claim to power as Naruto’s legitimate son, while Boruto was shunned by the Hidden Leaf Village.
Naruto’s fate has also changed because Kawaki made use of the Space-Time Ninjutsu to send him and Hinata to a distant dimension. Because of this Naruto has been absent from the post-time skip narrative which has disappointed many fans.

Adult Swim’s latest release, Ninja Kamui is a revenge anime about the Shinobi clans. I have rarely been disappointed by Adult Swim, and now that they are entering the anime scene, they have succeeded in creating an action-packed thriller. I was pretty hyped up after watching the first episode, and, as expected, the second one did not disappoint either. The animation does remind me a lot of anime like Steins; Gate and Super Crooks. However, I wonder if American-Japanese anime will become its own thing. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the idea, as I’m not too fond of American corporations capitalizing on Japanese art now, but regardless they are making some great shows, and Ninja Kamui is definitely one of them.

Fan animations have enhanced drastically in the last few years, and one of the fan animations brought back Jiraiya and many other past members of Konoha for a conclusive battle against the Ōtsutsuki.
