Jeff Rembert is a Central Florida writer and producer with a leaning toward comedic sketches and period dramas. He's curator for All The Line Studio & Incubator, an independent film production company and host of the Next Step Screenplay Series; and co-founder of Writers of Central Florida or Thereabouts, an Orlando literary group and host of the Short Attention Span Storytelling Hour open mic series.
His ancestry is Scot, Irish, Welsh, French Huguenot and Native American or so says spit in the test tube. His lineage dates back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, Santee River Valley and Republic of Texas. Jeff played Patrick Henry on stage to tremendous acclaim in second grade, was lieutenant of his fifth-grade safety patrol and was traded from his high school basketball team to the cross-country team for finish-line tape. Despite years of Catholic schooling, he's never given confession. Jeff has bachelor's degrees from Texas Tech University and The University of Texas.
His writing background includes stints at the Killeen Daily Herald where he covered small colleges and Texas high school sports and the Austin American-Statesman where he covered sports and business. He can attest Friday Night Lights is real. Jeff also has worked as associate producer / political reporter for Austin Perspective (PBS) and has held positions in the advertising, corporate and public relations fields with specialties in finance, hospitality and agriculture.
Jeff played Mr. Thompson / Zombie in the short film Zombros (2014) and acted in two other projects, now in post-production, A Day to Remember (Regal) and Coin Trick (Cop). He's also written episodes for The Egos Comedy Sketch Team (ENV Pictures) and its feature film, Zombies in the Antique Shop (2022). Jeff has written and is in post-production with his short film, Too Many Faces (2023). The film is about the war remembrances of an aging WWII veteran. He's also written the feature-length screenplay, Songs From The Home Front (WWII drama), and co-wrote with Chet Hall, the feature-length screenplay Boca Grande (comedy).
He's founder of Going Yard Productions, LLC; former Associate Editor of Forward Florida magazine; and former Board Member for The Kerouac Project of Orlando. Some of his work can be found at Linktree and Facebook.
