2005 Abitur in Monschau; 2002 to 2003 school year abroad at Lutheran High School, Little Rock/AR (USA); 2005 to 2010 studied political science and economics at the University of Mannheim, 2010 to 2014 doctorate at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences; 2014 to 2017 consultant for a global management consultancy. 2010 to 2013 state chairman of the Baden-Württemberg Young Liberals; 2018 to 2022 member of the board of trustees of the Federal Magnus Hirschfeld Foundation; since 2019 member of the board of trustees of the German AIDS Foundation; since 2022 member and since 2023 chairman of the board of trustees of the German Foundation for Peace Research.
Member of the German Bundestag since 2017. In the 19th legislative period, spokesman of the FDP parliamentary group for studies, vocational training and lifelong learning and for LGBTI, representative in the Enquete Commission "Vocational Training in the Digital World of Work" and in the Committee for Education, Research and Technology Assessment. Since December 2021 Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Education and Research.
