Khalilah Brooks' journey through life took her from being in foster care until the age of 21, to pursuing her passion for the arts, where she could inspire and heal the hearts of children just like her.
Khalilah has been working with children for 20+ years. She is the proud business owner of "BAM Children's Entertainment Inc." where she contributes to the community of the performing arts and enjoys every moment of it.
Khalilah is a children's author, creator, producer, and has worked on Afro Global Television (Bell Media) on the set of "Story Time with Nana" a live action children's show as the lead character, and the Associate Producer of the four-part documentary series called BLK: An Origin Story on the History Channel. Khalilah achieved the "Canadian Small Women's Business Award" for her impact and contributions to being "The Definition of Perseverance" in overcoming the challenges of living in foster care to becoming a woman in business. She also received the "Playing for Keeps" Award with distinguished honours for community leadership along with the "Role Model" Award from James Maloney, Member of Parliament. She has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), CityTV, Good News Toronto, Access Granted Mississauga, The Lenore Terry Show, The Nikki Clarke Show, Dr. Vibe and the local Caribbean Newspaper.
In 2019, Khalilah earned "The Dean's Award for Entrepreneurship" from Centennial College and her Post Graduate Degree in Children's Media, and was awarded the digital media incubator bursaries from WIFT in partnership with Hollywood Suite. Khalilah is thrilled to be taking her theatrical property "Aunty B & Friends" to television for Aunty B's House.
