Richard Reed(XXXVI)
After 6 years in the Army, Reed went back to college for a degree in Electrical Engineering. He immediately started work at Grumman Aerospace, working on the EF-111A Raven and F-14D Tomcat. In 1989, with family in tow, he headed west to Seattle to spend 27 years at Boeing working and Rockwell Collins working on the 747-400, 757, 767, 737NG, 777. In 2007 he retired from industry and went to work for the FAA as an Aircraft Safety Engineer, and eventually a Program Manager. He retired for good in 2017 and with his wife of 51 years lives near Seattle and his grandsons.
