Yi-Chien Lee(II)
- Production Designer
Yi-Chien is a South California-based set designer working in theatre, film, and dance. Originally raised in Taiwan, she is deeply influenced by the concept of multiculturalism, which evokes her interest in how the processes of colonization and nationalism experience have gradually developed into a sense of cultural identity. When her work crosses a spectrum of traditional Shakespeare classics, pop-culture musicals, and Asian new plays, she is always seeking opportunities to create a diverse vision and provide new perspectives to the productions.
She has been accumulating design credits in Taiwan and the US. She received B.A. at National Taiwan University and MFA in Scenic Design at UC San Diego. She has been working with the local leading theatre including Cygnet Theatre, Diversionary Theatre, San Diego Rep Theatre, Old Globe Theatre, and Moxie Theatre Company. Her work for Moon drunk has been selected for the Emerging Artist/Imagination Exhibit in the 2019 Prague Quadrennial. "Un-Tongue" was exhibited at The 28th Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre in 2021.
