Gareth Edwards' new film in the "Jurassic Park/World" series hasn't yet been given an official title, but — according to a report in Variety — may likely be called "Jurassic City." It will be the seventh film to be based on Michael Crichton's 1990 adventure novel.
The new film will be written by longtime blockbuster scribe David Koepp, and is being described as "a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island." The Island is presumably Isla Nublar, the fictional Costa Rican island where Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" (1993) took place.
It may be generous to call the story "completely fresh," as "characters trapped on an island with dinosaurs" is also the plot of "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," "Jurassic Park III," and "Jurassic World." Only "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" and "Jurassic World: Dominion" don't take place entirely on a remote,...

Storyline aside, the strangeness encapsulating Outer Range Season 2 (and the previous season) is mind-bending.
While some questions from the previous season are answered, even more are left on the table, along with a suggestion of trouble surrounding the timeline of events.
Outer Range dives headlong into the concept of time travel, a science fiction genre that often derails movies and shows that embrace it.
While time travel will always be an exciting and intriguing topic to the audience, it also means that a resolute ending point in the season finale is nothing more than a pipe dream.
The Status of the Mysterious Hole
The hinge point from which Outer Range's bizarrely shaped door swings is the gigantic, dark hole in the middle of the Abbott family's western pasture.
Though there are indications that the hole is not the catalyst for time travel, at least not by physically throwing someone in it,...

Ethel Cain wants her concerts to be pure fun. After fans complained about negative behavior from fellow concertgoers at Cain’s shows, the “Strangers” singer urged her fans to treat each other with respect.
“I very much hate hearing that anyone attending our shows walked away with a negative experience because of bad behavior in the pit,” Cain wrote on her Instagram Story ahead of a show in London. “Barreling to the front, slapping people’s hands away when I reach for them, verbally insulting people, it’s all just not very nice.

Not all is well in Wyoming, and Outer Range Season 2 Episode 6 kicks things off with the surety that Autumn is Amy, and Rhett is finally figuring more into the picture.
If there’s been an overarching issue with the Outer Range series so far, it's been covering all of the various characters and subplots it has going on.
Rhett and Marie have been a part of the whole, yet it feels like they are almost entirely irrelevant to the plot.
We also get more of a glimpse into Rebecca and Amy’s doings, another two that feel almost irrelevant.
If not for their presence in terms of the aura they set over the entire Abbott family, they could easily be forgotten.
On the bright side, it looks like Joy took Royal’s advice, telling her wife Martha all about her four years in the 1880s.
It pays off, as Martha...

There’s a lot to miss about the ’90s. Video stores. Arcades. Music Television. On and on. One of the many things I miss is the slew of original thrillers that used to grace the big screen. Each one with varying amounts of horror, cheesiness, and sex. Richard Gere and Michael Douglas were involved in more sex and danger in the ’90s than Maureen Prescott’s ghost. But today isn’t about watching the guy from Falling Down rip his expensive and pleated slacks off in a fever of passion. It’s about directing legend Brian De Palma returning to the genre with his very own fever dream Fight Club. A story of split personalities,...

With several amazing series and movies inspired by video games, Hollywood has finally discovered how to make this kind of product with soul and make the audience feel like gamers. Prime Video’s Fallout TV series serves as the most recent example, garnering praise from both critics and fans.

The Cylons, androids created by man, are the villains of "Battlestar Galactica," but they wear human guises. This reflects how the show's human heroes are all deeply flawed people and humanity's foibles (from arrogance to self-destructive) continue to haunt them even as their technology soars past the modern day.
Indeed, the best villain in "Battlestar Galactica" was a human character: Admiral Helena Cain (Michelle Forbes), commander of the Battlestar Pegasus. In the series' pilot min-series, the Cylons attack humanity's 12 colonies. The only survivors appear to be Galactica herself and a handful of civilian spaceships, who set out to find the mythical world Earth to be their new home.

Nathan Zellner and David Zellner’s Sasquatch Sunset is stomping into circa 850 theaters this weekend after debuting in 9 with a solid opening for a film many could find weird. A tribe of Sasquatch, possibly the last of their kind, live and love in the woods of northern California, where it was shot.
“We are taking Bigfoot to America. We have high hopes that the broader market will embrace the movie,” says Kyle Davies of distributor Bleecker Street, calling it “a very different” kind of movie and “a bit of an unknown.”
“It’s a wildcard.”
Marketing was mainly through social activations. “I wouldn’t call it traditional marketing. It doesn’t really fit in that box,” Davies adds. The Sasquatch standees in theaters are fun. And Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar is displaying a baby Sasquatch sitting in a glass case with umbilical cord and placenta.
This is “a polarizing film.

This Fallout article contains spoilers.
For years, Fallout fans have wondered who started the nuclear war that eventually led to the end of the world as we know it. Well, Amazon’s Fallout series offers an answer to that question, and some fans may not be happy with what it has to say.
In the third act of the TV series, it is revealed that the nuclear war wasn’t started by one of the world’s warring countries but rather by Vault-Tec itself. Via a series of flashbacks, we learn that Vault-Tec detonated its own nukes, sparking the war between the U.S. and China that ravaged the planet’s surface. The main reason for such an evil act is simple: greed. After all, if there’s no war, Vault-Tec’s most valuable product, a vault meant to protect citizens from nukes and the fallout thereafter, would go to waste.

The fan-favorite post-apocalyptic video game series Fallout is the most prominent it has ever been, with an ambitious live-action television adaptation coming to Prime Video while publisher Bethesda SoftWorks continues to guide the games moving forward.
However, while Bethesda brought Fallout to new heights in 2008 with Fallout 3, the action RPG franchise goes back further by over a decade. Following Bethesda’s acquisition of the Fallout franchise, major changes were instituted that bristled purist fans of the initial games in the series for the alterations to gameplay and presentation.
Here is how Fallout began in 1997 before it was acquired by Bethesda in 2004 and eventually transformed into the gaming franchise millions of players know it as today.

After endorsing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020 — and even saying in 2021 that he would “consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted” — Dwayne Johnson is walking back his support for the incumbents in the 2024 election.
In an interview with Will Cain on Fox News, Johnson expressed dissatisfaction with the state of America and said the he won’t be endorsing any candidates in the 2024 election. “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” Johnson said. “I thought, ‘I’m in this position where I have some influence and I felt it was my job then to exercise my influence [and] share: This is who I’m going to endorse.’ I’m not going to do that.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson said in an interview with Fox & Friends that he won’t make an endorsement in this year’s presidential race, after having thrown his support to Joe Biden in the last cycle.
In an interview with Will Cain, Johnson said, “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was what I thought was the best decision for me at that time. And I thought back then, when we talked about, ‘Hey, I am in this position where I have some influence, and it’s my job then.’ I felt like that then. ‘It is my job now to exercise my influence and share with, ‘This is who I am going to endorse.'”
He suggested that the reason he would not endorse this cycle is because his decision to go public four years ago proved too polarizing. Donald Trump has long had close ties to WWE.

I don’t think it’s a controversial opinion to state that, of all the RoboCop movies, only Paul Verhoeven’s original 1987 film deserves to be called a classic. However, a lot of us have always thought that the ultra-violent sequel, RoboCop 2, was better than its reputation suggests. I know from our Original Video on the movie that it has more than a few fans, so it’s exciting to reveal that RoboCop 2 is finally getting a 4K Blu-ray release via Scream Factory.
The news was broken by our friends at Blu-ray.com. The company has also licensed José Padilha’s 2014 remake for release. No RoboCop 3 yet. I suppose the company just decided to let that one go, and you can’t really blame them, as it just might be one of the worst sequels of all time.
No news yet on whether RoboCop 2 will contain any special features.

While he’s best known to daytime fans as General Hospital’s (Gh) Nikolas Cassadine, actor Adam Huss is entering another genre with his newest project, Peek-a-Boo, a chilling movie that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The success of our Submit Your Film Initiative continued this year in the same pace, as we received more than 80 submissions from all over Asia, including a number of Asian-American titles, with the features' submissions this year being close to the one of shorts. As such, we would like to thank all the filmmakers who submitted their work and we hope that they continue to do so for many years to come and also to hint on a very significant update regarding the initiative and the ‘future' of the films submitted, which will announce at the beginning of 2023.
At the same time, we also felt the need to celebrate this initiative by listing the movies we considered the best. Without further ado, here are the best #SubmitYourFilm Movies of 2023, in random order..

On Sunday, Dean Cain walked the red carpet at the 91st Hollywood Christmas Parade – but many fans didn’t recognize him after his significant weight gain.
Dressed in a black suit with a festive pink tie, the actor caught the public’s attention due to his new portly look in contrast to his appearance in his TV role in the 90s.
Cain, 57, gained prominence through his role alongside Teri Hatcher in the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which aired on ABC from 1993 to 1997.
Cain went on to take the role of real-life detective James ‘Woody’ Woods in the film Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer in 2018. The movie was based on the true story of Kermit Gosnell, an abortion doctor from Pennsylvania who was convicted of the murder of three infants after their live births and involuntary manslaughter of a pregnant woman under his care,...

The use of the handicapped and disabled in cinema is a tricky subject, not wanting to let the physical disability serve as a means of exploiting, demeaning, or lowering the person's on-screen attributes into being a lesser figure than the other participants who don't suffer from this condition. The horror genre has provided memorable characters in it's history that have a handicap to positive and uplifting effect, which is the route taken here with James Hung's newest creature feature “Detrimental.” This shows off the handicapped being instrumental to stopping the carnage around them in addition to being a fun monster movie in it's own right.

So, how accurate are some of those old sayings? Well, in the case of “You can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family”, well…yes, 100 percent. That’s especially true with siblings, going all the way back to Cain and Abel. Sure brothers battle, but is that ditto for sisters? This weekend’s new comedy uses that as its “springboard”. These two ladies couldn’t be more different or argumentative, Fortunately, they’re both hilarious, and their characters are played by two talented actresses. You see, the elder is a party gal while the other is saddled with the title Quiz Lady.
We first meet the aforementioned Qz as a timid eight-year-old indulging in her favorite weekday activity, watching the live TV show “Can’t Stop the Quiz” hosted by true hero Terry McTeer (Will Ferrell). And she pretty much aces all the questions despite her older...

The Fallout series is full of unsolved mysteries. Why are aliens visiting? Where did the obelisk under the Dunwich Building come from? What happened to the rest of the world? But the biggest mystery in the franchise that has persisted since its inception is “Why is the game’s world a radioactive wasteland?” Well, technically we know the answer: China and the U.S. launched nukes at one another, but nobody knows why or who struck first. Until today.
Recently, Fallout aficionado and lore hound TKs-Mantis interviewed one of the brains behind Fallout, Tim Cain. They had a lovely 90-minute chat and got to know each other better. Near the end, TKs-Mantis asked Cain a simple question: If you were the only person in charge of Fallout, where would you have taken the franchise?

Rivalry, jealousy, loneliness, disappointment and betrayal are experiences that nearly every student must go through in order to grow. Gabriela Muskala’s feature debut The Clowns uses these subjects to create a compelling coming of age drama with a twist. Being a successful actress herself, the Polish director gets the best out of her actors, giving them the chance to depict the turbulent reality of drama school in their first appearance on the big screen.
The story centres on students from a Faculty of Acting who are supposed to make a graduation film. They are very excited to learn that they will be working with Gajda (Oskar Hamerski), a director notoriously famous for his extreme acting methods, whose task introduces biblical and Polish romanticism characters into their mundane life. The students need to portray Cain, who kills his brother Abel out of jealousy because God preferred...

The Clowns stands as a successful debut in the career of Polish director Gabriela Muskała, who distinguished herself in the film Fugue (2018), both as a screenwriter and as an actress. There is a distinct blend of electrifying fiction and real-life events, and it's evident that her work in this instance is deeply tied to a sense of personal involvement. This is exemplified by her collaboration with students from the Łódź Film School, who attempt to subvert the traditional coming-of-age paradigm by employing a broad spectrum of of classical texts.
The group of drama students learns during their acting classes that the prodigy-director, Gajda (Oskar Hamerski), freshly returned from Cannes, intends to hold auditions for his upcoming project. The unusual nature of the film takes shape during the audition and selection process, as two pairs of actors are chosen to portray the roles of Cain and Abel, as well as Balladyna.

Here’s a detailed recap of Dark Asset, along with an honest review at the end.

Raising Cain, Brian De Palma’s maddening dissociative identity disorder thriller, remains one of the director’s most inscrutable films three decades later.
“Does Carter know what he did?”
“Carter didn’t do anything. Cain did all the killing.”
Brian De Palma is an absolute master visual storyteller and his movies are always cinematically stunning even when they don’t fully work as films. For every Carrie and Blow Out there’s a Snake Eyes and The Black Dahlia, but Snake Eyes still kicks off with a twelve-and-a-half minute unbroken tracking shot and Black Dahlia turns the camera into an airborne omniscient spectator during its dynamic gangland shootout and simultaneous corpse discovery. 1992’s Raising Cain comes at an important period of transition for De Palma. Sandwiched between The Bonfire of the Vanities and Carlito’s Way–ostensibly the two extremes of De Palma’s career–it’s easy for Raising Cain...

This article contains spoilers for all of Better Call Saul.
Halfway through Better Call Saul’s fifth season, we arrived at the moment the whole series had been building up to. A story about the origins of Breaking Bad’s comic relief lawyer had become a Cain-and-Abel war between two embittered brothers then, in turn, a strange and unexpected love story between the dodgy-but-decent Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and the driven, brilliant Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) – two lawyers with very different approaches to the law. So possibly.” But what would we have seen in Season 5 if Cain had returned? “In an alternate universe, Billie’s [Jessica Lucas] son [Miles Fowler’s Trevor...
