Ola is a an award winning Director of photography, director and producer from Sweden that has the world as his workplace since the turn of the century. In 2022 he won the award for best solo photographer of 2021 at the Gyllene Snittet Gala in Stockholm and in 2016 he was part of the crew that won an International Emmy for the show Allt För Sverige (The Great Swedish adventure) where he set the visuals on. On the side of TV he is producing and shooting content for companies, music videos and documentaries. In 2023 the acclaimed documentary "Tompa Eken - Ett liv i punkens tjänst" about the band Booker Tompa Eken was released on Swedish state TV (SVT). At the moment he is producing two documentary films that are planned to be released sometime in 2024-25. One about the aftermath of a fatal car accident in Boise, Idaho USA and another one about the unbelievable story about the 80's teen metal band Wizzard that suddenly got a second chance 37 years later.
Ola grew up in the small town of Vrigstad in the heart of the Provence of Småland, Sweden with his two older brothers Dick and Magnus and parents Kerstin and Bengt. His parents met in the early 70's when Kerstin came down as a Red Cross nurse to Congo-Kinshasa (then named Zaire) where Bengt had already been working for a decade as an cargo flight pilot flying between different jungle destinations. When they two years later got pregnant with their first child they moved back to Sweden for a more secure life.
Olas parents adventurous lifestyle inspired him to tell stories and he found an early interest for making short films with his friends with the family VHS camera. This led to studies in film, video and photography in high school and later at film schools in Stockholm and in Australia. In 1997 Ola got in contact with his older half brother Ulf Fredholm that worked in TV in Stockholm. Except from getting a "new" brother this also paved the way for his first job within Swedish TV, the music TV channel ZTV, a local competitor to MTV. This was the perfect place to start and sharpen the skills for what would come later. Ola's heart has always been in smaller independent productions and documentaries even though he also is a household name on big international TV formats like Love is blind, Survivor, Renovation nation, Biggest Loser and many, many more.
