A few months ago, Dolly Parton broke her silence on Elle King’s drunken performance at the Grand Ole Opry. King, 34, had constantly faced backlash from country fans and beyond for saying she was “f—ing hammered” during her birthday tribute to Parton at the Grand Ole Opry in January.
King admitted her performance was “f—ing bad” while trying to perform one of Parton’s classics, ‘Marry Me.’ She also made a joke about people expecting her to know the lyrics to the song. “I can barely play another person’s song, let me see if I can play one of mine,” King said.
Fans also fished out a separate video where King was heard telling the crowd that they were not getting their money back.

Elle King offered the most detailed account of her disastrous performance at the Grand Ole Opry’s Dolly Parton tribute show earlier this year — and the incredible kindness Parton showed her afterward — on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast.
As King herself acknowledged, she committed a “big no-no” at the January concert: She “cussed on stage, hammered” at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and appeared to forget the lyrics to Parton’s song “Marry Me.” While King released a short statement about the matter on Instagram back in March, she noted...

Throughout the six-episode run of Netflix’s Everybody’s in L.A., John Mulaney’s comedian guests kept trying to find ways to describe the live talk show’s chaotic-bordering-on-surreal atmosphere. “I feel like this entire show is a Banksy!” a confused Jon Stewart suggested. Nikki Glaser perhaps explained it best, by telling Mulaney, “It’s like an inside joke that only you are in on.”
That line applies just as well to Mulaney’s delightful 2019 Netflix special John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch. Both then and now, the...

It was a long night for Tom Brady at his live Netflix comedy roast, as it was for the rest of us watching from home.
Starting with a bloody Oj Simpson jersey and ending with Brady smashing an iPhone on stage, the Netflix live event, “The Greatest Roast of All-Time: Tom Brady,” honored the seven-time Super Bowl champion. The modern-day legend faced his biggest challenge yet: being roasted by comedians and his former NFL teammates.
At times hilarious and at others a bit cringe-worthy, the unedited live event was a lengthy affair that made one truly appreciate the editors of the Comedy Central roasts. Their task was to condense the content into a concise, entertaining 60-minute presentation. Here, bits went on far too long, and former football players had glazed looks in their eyes in the background. The comedians who do this for a living performed incredibly well, while the others…...

Tom Brady took the jokes in stride at his roast — well, most of them.
Amid jabs about Gisele Bündchen, deflategate and his good looks Sunday night, Brady bristled at one in particular, aimed at the Patriots’ 82-year-old owner, Robert Kraft.
During his turn onstage, Jeff Ross quipped: “So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft‘s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made. Would you like a massage?’”
Brady then approached Ross, who’d blown a kiss Kraft’s way, and said in his ear: “Don’t say that shit again.” Ross replied, “Ok, Ok. He’s having fun, look at him. I love what you do for the Jews, Robert Kraft. You’re incredible.”

In “Prom Dates,” two high school besties are sent reeling after their carefully orchestrated plans for the future take an abrupt turn, forcing them on a wild overnight adventure across town. If this set-up sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because director Kim O. Nguyen and screenwriter D.J. Mausner have combined a handful of ingredients from “Booksmart” and mixed them with some of the farcical odyssey of “After Hours.” However, unlike this teen raunch-com’s brilliantly conceived inspirations, its main friendship dynamic and ensuing shenanigans fail to resonate due to sloppy character construction and a cadre of cringe-worthy circumstances.
As innocent middle schoolers, Hannah (Millie Thorpe) and Jess (Hailey Philip) took a blood oath – one that went hilariously awry – to make their prom night the best night of their lives. But as seniors, the besties are finding that making good on their pact might prove difficult. Hannah (Julia Lester) is struggling with her sexuality,...

There is currently a lot of casting going on for the Real Housewives. Chelsea Handler was allegedly in the running for Rhobh as two cast members had been let go. Plus, it is unclear if Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley would be sticking around. The graveyard of shows that have attempted to bring something resembling the late-night format to streaming is vast.
Even as subscription streaming services have become the de facto leader in producing original television content, late night remains one nut that the likes of Netflix, Apple TV+, and Peacock have failed to crack.
It’s not for lack of talent. Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler, Michelle Wolf, Hasan Minhaj, Amber Ruffin, and Joel McHale have all taken turns behind the proverbial desk for different streamers, but none have made enough of a dent to stick around for more than a season or two.
Why streamers keep trying is no wonder. Talk shows are inexpensive to produce, and if one were to be genuinely successful, it could help combat the dirtiest of words in streaming: churn.

Chelsea Handler is shutting down the rumors!

Chelsea shared a screenshot of a blog post, which claimed that she had “inked a deal to become a part of the highly popular reality TV series.”

“This is not true,” she captioned the post on her Instagram Story over the weekend.
In fact, Chelsea has openly criticized the Bravo franchise.
“I think it’s sick,” she said on Watch What Happens Live back in 2013. “I mean, I think that franchise is kind of a terrible thing that women shouldn’t be making money off the fact they have fake b–bs, fake vagina and a fake whatever, so I actually don’t support that.”
Another star called out Andy Cohen for not casting her on the series.

Is comedian Chelsea Handler on board for Season 14 of Rhobh now that two cast members have been let go from the series? Annemarie Wiley and Crystal Kung Minkoff are both off of the show and allegedly two new people are coming in. Is Chelsea one of them? Keep reading for more details.
Chelsea Handler On Board For Rhobh Season 14?
Season 14 of Rhobh is supposed to start filming in the next few days. However, it is still unclear if Dorit Kemsley or Kyle Richards are returning. Kyle shared that she did not know if she wanted to come back for another season while it is rumored that Dorit does not have an official contract. Exclusive: The 2025 Critics Choice Awards will not be airing exclusively on the CW. The broadcast network has opted not to renew the awards show’s current option for next year, sources tell Deadline. However, it is still possible to see the ceremony on the CW in 2025 as the network is looking for a path to continue to carry it, shared with another network or a streamer, I hear. There was a similar arrangement for the 2022 Critics Choice Awards, simulcast on the CW and TBS.
The Critics Choice Association, run by President Joey Berlin, is said to already be in conversations with potential new broadcast partners.
After bouncing around various networks from 2001-2016 with stints on E!, the WB, VH1, the CW and A&e, the Critics Choice Awards returned to the CW in 2017 and had aired on the network ever since.

Rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, hopped on X recently and made a very bold prediction to his 12 million+ followers, stating that former U.S. President, Donald Trump, would be president once again.
This was part of a post that Jackson shared with an AI-doctored (fake) video, which showed Trump offering comments on Sean Diddy Combs’s recent federal human trafficking investigation, and the raids on his homes.
Rapper 50 Cent – “The World Is Almost Over”
Jackson shared the AI video of Trump, along with a caption that read, “The world’s almost over so what are we all worried about.
Whoever made this is fucked up. I think Trump’s gonna be president again, but I’m not going to say that.” In addition, he provided a link to his website, gunitbrands.com.

Chelsea Handler’s relationship with rapper and actor 50 Cent was in prominence for several tabloids while sparking huge gossip. The relationship between the duo started one year after 50 Cent’s visit to her show Chelsea Lately in 2009 on E!.

The relationship, however, did not last long as Handler was suspicious of R&b singer Ciara who allegedly had a romantic interest in the rapper which, as Handler admitted was quite uncomfortable and propelled arguments between the couple. Reportedly, Handler planned a vacation for them but it was in smoke as the rapper never showed up following their heated argument over the phone.

Kevin Hart received comedy’s ultimate honor — a deluge of insults mixed with genuine reverence — as he received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Sunday night, March 24.
Hart himself took a supremely earnest approach to the night as he addressed the audience at the end of the evening. Per The Washington Post, he teared up while thanking his kids (“I breathe for you. I live for you”); credited his mother with shaping him into the person and comedian he became (“Take my mom away,...

Washington, D.C. — Kevin Hart was feted Sunday with the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize in a traditionally raucous affair that drew praise and flak in equal measure from a handful of comedic colleagues on hand for the occasion. The ceremony will air later this year on Netflix as part of the streamer’s multiyear deal with the Kennedy Center event.
Previous Twain honoree Dave Chappelle was on hand to salute the multifaceted entertainer whose standup comedic talents are matched by his prowess as film actor, producer, restauranteur and beverage magnate. So was Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Tiffany Haddish, among other friends and fellow comedians.
That extensive resume was ample grist for colleagues who trooped onto the Center’s Concert Hall stage as Hart and his family sat in a nearby box. The show concluded with the presentation of the award, a miniature Twain bust, by Kennedy Center chairman David Rubenstein.

As Kevin Hart sat in the audience with family and friends for The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize, there were many jokes about his height, quips about his wealth and jabs at his productivity.
What there was very little of was anything political, reflecting Hart’s own style that tends to avoid such topical humor.
Chris Rock did have one moment, though.
“The Mark Twain Award this year. If Trump wins, next year will be the Mark Fuhrman award,” Rock said.
As the audience laughed, Rock added, “It’s going to be nothing but banjos up there.”
He also was among the comics who did a bit of roasting of Hart. “Look at that smile,” Rock said. “You got that second wife happiness.” Hart, surrounded by his wife and kids, laughed.
Like others, though, Rock talked of Hart’s rise to become one of the most successful comedians of all time,...

Netflix has become the latest home for the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
The streamer has struck a multi-year deal with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to air the event. Last year, the event aired on CNN and before that PBS aired it for over 20 years. Comedy Central hosted it before PBS.

Comedian Chelsea Handler is back at it with another year of skiing in a swimsuit on her birthday.
Handler posted a video of her birthday tradition on her Instagram to commemorate. She is carrying on the tradition that she started last year, but this time she raised the stakes by doing the same routine, plus a cocktail and a joint.
The post’s caption read, “multi-tasking on my 49th!”
She added the reel posted to her profile with 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” and also posted it on her story.
In addition to the cocktail and marijuana, Handler also had her dogs (wearing pink ski goggles to match her own) strapped to her. She referred to them as “my bears.”
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Handler talked about why she loves the resort, saying, “I went to Whistler for the first time for my 38th birthday with girlfriends.

ABC has set Chelsea Handler and Marla Gibbs to guest star in Episode 7 of “Not Dead Yet” Season 2.
“Not Dead Yet” stars Gina Rodriguez as Nell, a journalist who takes a job writing obituaries at the SoCal Independent and soon gains the ability to see and speak to ghosts. The episode featuring Handler and Gibbs, which airs in late March, sees Lexi (Lauren Ash) and Duncan (Brad Garrett) spend a weird version of quality time at the newspaper’s softball game.
Handler will play Sharon Darynson, the owner of the rival news station to the SoCal Independent and the long-time nemesis to Duncan Rhoades (Brad Garrett). While everyone else runs in fear of Duncan, Sharon refuses to be intimidated by him.
Gibbs — the mother of Angela E. Gibbs, who stars in “Not Dead Yet” as Cricket — will play Cricket’s mother, Nana Sugar, who becomes one of Nell’s (Gina Rodriguez) obituary subjects.

Shortly after Trevor Noah abruptly announced he’d be leaving The Daily Show in late 2022, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios CEO Chris McCarthy knew he needed allies.
There was “a lot of pressure to just choose someone,” he told The Hollywood Reporter early last year, though he resisted naming an immediate replacement. Instead, the team, led by longtime showrunner Jen Flanz, lined up a stable of guest hosts, a mix of bold-faced names like Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler as well as correspondents from the show. McCarthy also sought the counsel of James “Babydoll” Dixon, manager of late-night hosts Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, and a previous Daily Show executive producer himself. In fact, in those early transition months, McCarthy spent “a lot of time with Babydoll getting his advice,” he said, “and we called Jon a couple times.”

Jon Stewart will make a surprising return to The Daily Show, 25 years after starting on the show. He will host the Comedy Central late-night show one night a week through the 2024 election cycle.
The news comes eight years after he stepped down from hosting the show, which revolutionized late-night television and brought through the likes of Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Samantha Bee and Steve Carell.

Jon Stewart is returning as the host and executive producer of Comedy Central’s “Daily Show.” Before you get too excited, the assignment is part-time, and the plan is for him to stay on as host through the November 2024 presidential election cycle, and EP at least through 2025.
Stewart will host the program only on Mondays, but executive produce every episode. The other evenings will be hosted by a rotating panel of the show’s “All-Star Correspondents.” If you’re wondering why Stewart is taking the Monday slot, it’s because that’s traditionally the most-watched “Daily Show” episode of the week, and acts as catch up for all the news that’s gone on over the weekend.
Although “The Daily Show” began in 1996 with Craig Kilborn as its host, the show rose in the public consciousness during Stewart’s time hosting from 1999 to 2015. Under Kilborn, the show was mostly irreverent and focused on pop culture.

Jon Stewart is back at The Daily Show. After a yearlong search for Trevor Noah’s replacement, the longtime host and Noah’s predecessor has agreed to return on Monday nights through the 2024 election.
The new setup, a major coup for the show and for parent company Paramount, is set to begin Feb. 12. For the remainder of the week, the Comedy Central series will rely on a team of correspondents, which are likely to include Jordan Klepper, Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta and Dulcé Sloan. Stewart, who spent 16 years at the show, the majority of them Emmy-winning, will be heavily involved as an executive producer on the other nights as well. The move comes after Stewart prematurely exited his Apple TV+ show, The Problem, following creative differences between the iPhone maker and its host over potential topics and guests.

After holding a year-long bake-off among various celebrities to find the next host of its signature “The Daily Show,” Comedy Central is going to try a new recipe.
When the program returns from a hiatus, it is expected to rely heavily on a team of correspondents to lead each night, according to three people familiar with the matter, though it is not clear if the network has struck upon its final assemblage of talent. “Daily Show” could also rely on guest appearances by some of the celebrities who have hosted the program since Trevor Noah, the last permanent presence behind the desk, quit abruptly in late 2022.

No two awards shows are alike: The 2024 Golden Globes Awards, broadcast on CBS on Jan. 7, increased its viewership by 50 percent over the previous year, averaging 9.4 million viewers. By contrast, the 29th Critics Choice Awards, airing on The CW exactly one week later on Jan. 14, averaged just 1 million viewers. That meant the Critics Choice Awards had around one 10th the viewership of the Globes.
But despite the smaller viewership of the Critics Choice Awards, luxury brands still racked up big numbers in media exposure for dressing stars at the show, as revealed in the latest findings of the 2024 Red Carpet Power Rankings.
At the Critics Choice Awards, the No. 1 fashion brand on the red carpet was Prada, which garnered a media-impact value (Miv) of $5.1 million, according to data revealed by Launchmetrics and The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive partnership that is tracking the buzz that brands and stars generate on red carpets throughout awards season.

During the Emmys, former “Daily Show” correspondent Roy Wood Jr. could be seen mouthing “Please hire a host” during Noah’s acceptance speech. Wood himself retweeted the clip, with the caption, “Chill, fam I was trying to do that in the low.”
“We are grateful to the Television Academy for recognizing our incredibly talented team and want to take this week to honor and thank them,” a Comedy Central spokesperson told TheWrap. “Next week, we’ll be sharing our...

Exclusive: The Daily Show was a surprise winner at the Emmys on Monday night.
The Comedy Central series won the award for Outstanding Talk Series for Trevor Noah’s final season, an emotional end to his seven-year run. Many expected Stephen Colbert to win for The Late Show or Jimmy Kimmel Live! but it was Noah that picked up the award, becoming the first Black man to lead a show to victory in the category.
Afterwards, a number of questions were directed towards Noah and the team about the future of The Daily Show, a fair ask given that it has now been over a year since Noah left the show.
Deadline understands that over the next few months, the focus will be on its correspondents to lead the show through this election year, rather than another phalanx of celebrity guest hosts.
This plays into the idea that the show...

A celebration of “The Daily Show” took place earlier this week — but not on the network that airs it.
The program won an Emmy award for “Outstanding Variety Series” and its former host, Trevor Noah, and one of its former top contributors, Roy Wood, Jr., were on hand to take part. Veteran behind-the-scenes executives like Jen Flanz, who runs the program, and Daniel Radosh, a writer who has been with the series since the days of Jon Stewart, were easily viewed.
Despite the hoopla, there has not been a new episode of “The Daily Show” broadcast on its home, Paramount Global’s Comedy Central, since Kal Penn served as a guest on host on Thursday, December 14. There has not been a regular host of the series since Noah, who took over for Jon Stewart in 2015, left unexpectedly in December of 2022. You can’t blame the network for the whole thing.

Members of the Hollywood Creative Alliance (formerly the Hollywood Critics Association) can no longer maintain their membership in the Critics Choice Association, according to a new policy.
The CCA shared a message with its members Wednesday night about the policy, stating that those who are currently a member of both organizations must confirm that they have “successfully resigned from HCA” if they “wish to remain a CCA member.”
“The reason Cca has taken this action is that we have evidence that a representative of the HCA has improperly suggested to at least one studio (and we suspect more) that it could influence Critics Choice Awards voting in a way that led that studio to reach out to CCA and request that action be taken to protect the integrity of our awards,” the message reads. “Of course, that HCA threat was empty, but CCA cannot ignore this.”
