Chaad Hewitt
- Additional Crew
Chaad Harrison-Laurence Hewitt was born on the Gold Coast, Australia on April 8, 2004 to parents Callie Jane Hewitt and Paul Simon Hewitt. Chaad has an older sibling, sister Parker Hewitt who works as a South East Queensland model. Callie Jane Hewitt is the Head of Arts and Drama with A.B Patterson College and Chaad's father is the CFO for a global company. Paul Hewitt was originally from London in the UK and Chaad's mother hailed from the USA. Chaad spent his school vacations attending world renowned Trinity College London, to hone his stage acting skills. Discovered by Gold Coast agency Reel Management Pty Ltd in 2020, Chaad juggled his school studies (receiving distinctions as an A+ student at prestigious TSS - The Southport School) whilst on set of feature film True Spirit directed by Sarah Spillane.
Chaad began his acting career early, with support and lead roles in school dramas. Most notably in the lead role of Mike, in Flood by Chris Isaacs. Mike accidentally kills an indigenous man and suffers a psychological breakdown in the outback. He followed up this performance in the Unreturning about a young war veteran to which he received a High Distinction by the Queensland Drama Festival. When covid 19 took over the world, Chaad turned his acting attentions to the screen. Adopting a moderated version of Method acting, Chaad immerses himself in research and finds where he can empathize with the character, to reveal the flaws in a complex human tapestry and layer his performance. His total absorption in the story and role has attracted the attention of several Australian casting directors already.
The Southport School recently refurbished their drama department, now housing a million dollar Arts Centre and the progressive Dean of the school has awarded Chaad time out to pursue his acting career, encouraged by his ability to sustain academic excellence.
