Rick and Morty has amassed a strong fan following, particularly among the millennials. However, many would be surprised to know that the sci-fi adult animated show shares a notable connection with Christopher Lloyd’s Back to The Future series. The movie follows an eccentric older man and a teenager who embark on a time-traveling adventure with the help of their hi-tech vehicle.

Primarily due to its character inspirations and thematic elements, the animated show was conceived out of Lloyd’s movie parody, The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti. The film franchise star, in an old interview, addressed the same, confirming how the animated series shares a great connection with the sci-fi trilogy.

Back in November, Mark Hamill told fans at Fan Expo San Francisco that he would no longer be portraying the Clown Prince of Gotham.
Despite being considered by many to be the best Joker of all time, Hamill believed he just couldn't play the role unless it was opposite Kevin Conroy's Batman. Conroy, who voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman across several projects, passed away in November 2022.
But it seems there was a little caveat that allowed for Hamill to reprise the iconic villain role one final time in an upcoming game called MultiVersus. As it turns out, prior to his passing, Kevin Conroy also voiced Batman in the fighting game. It's perhaps for this reason that Hamill made an exception to his previous statement and returned to the role of Joker in the game.
For those unfamiliar, MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighter, in the same vein as Nintendo's Super Smash Bros.

Rick and Morty is one of the few cartoons that left a lasting impression in the minds of viewers, and much of it has to do with Justin Roiland. As a series, it is impeccable since it combines science and humor, making it a delightful watch.
Roiland poured his heart into this creation. He left no stone unturned to push the show to greater heights with each new season. The show has many memorable moments, given the different characters and their traits. However, one aspect of the titular character became synonymous with Rick, and the effort behind it might just be borderline disgusting.

Rick Sanchez may be the brainy protagonist of Rick and Morty, but let’s not sugarcoat it — he’s no hero and has done some of the worst stuff in the show. He’s an omnicidal maniac who’ll cross the line just to get a laugh, or because he can, or simply because there is a line to be crossed. Sure, he won’t go out of his way to hurt someone unless they’re in his way. But he won’t hesitate to walk over anyone, whether they’re good, bad, or just plain irrelevant, if it serves his purposes. He’s done some messed up

Fans of the animated series were treated to a delightful dose of nostalgia with the recent release of a gag reel that breathes new life into some of the show’s most iconic jokes. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and chuckle once more at these comedic gems. Rediscovering Rick’s Nonsensical Catchphrase The phrase ‘Wubba Lubba Dub Dub’ is synonymous with the eccentric genius Rick Sanchez. Rick’s portal gun technology When we dive into the realm of Rick and Morty, we’re immediately greeted by the iconic image of Rick Sanchez wielding his portal gun. The very idea of a device that allows instantaneous travel through dimensions is tantalizing, but let’s be real – it’s pure science fiction. For those of you who took my advice or who were already portal hopping on your own, as the show sometimes quips, it’s clear that our current understanding of physics and dimensions doesn’t support such technology. This article contains spoilers for Rick and Morty season 7 episode 10.
Rick and Morty season 7 had a lot to be afraid of.
Adult Swim‘s animated hit went into the year without the original voices of its titular characters following co-creator Justin Roiland’s dismissal of the show. This meant that the show’s writing staff, led by co-creator Dan Harmon and showrunner Scott Marder, had to work in two new major voice actors (Ian Cardoni as Rick and Harry Belden as Morty) while also fighting against the inevitable fan perception of creative inertia that all animated series face nearly a decade in.
Perhaps it’s no surprise then that the theme of season 7’s 10th and final episode all comes down to fear. Fittingly titled “Fear No Mort,” the season finale finds Rick and Morty meeting a mysterious thrill-seeker (voiced by Liev Schreiber) and being brought to a Denny’s...

Rick and Morty‘s Season 7 is set to wrap on Dec. 17, and ahead of its finale, showrunner and executive producer Scott Marder is teasing what’s ahead for the Adult Swim animated series.
In a recent interview, Marder opened up about working on Season 9 of the show and hinted at a ten-season saga that’s being worked on.
“I can’t tease a lot. I can tell you we’re in the middle of writing season nine,” Marder said in an interview with Comic Book. “I can tell you that we’ve already got a couple ideas for Season 10 that are already kind of pinned. There is a full plan for a full 10-season saga.”
He continued, “So if people are on board with what we’ve been doing the past couple seasons, we’re intending to give them more of that. But there are certainly arcs and cool things and big surprises in store.

There are a lot of elements that make "Rick and Morty" unique from the average animated sitcom, but a big one is just how common it is for us to watch its titular characters die. Sure, shows like "The Simpsons" have no trouble murdering its characters in its non-canon anthology episodes, but "Rick and Morty" will casually have Rick get his head crushed with a rock in the middle of the season 4 premiere. Rick was fine then, of course -- his consciousness was uploaded into another Rick's vat in an alternate universe -- but the sight of our main character dying so brutally is still shocking.
Beyond how often we've seen our main characters die, this show's multiverse premise means we've also seen near-identical versions of them die a millions times already. Most of the Citadel-centric episodes have forced us to watch all sorts of horrific deaths for other Ricks and Mortys,...

The idea of there being expansive “lore” for Adult Swim’s animated comedy Rick and Morty must seem so silly to people who don’t watch it. “Lore? You mean the goofy show about the drunk scientist and his grandson going on space adventures has a complicated canon?” Yes, believe it or not, we do mean exactly that!
While the show’s writers have historically been hesitant to fully embrace that lore in favor of self-contained episodic adventures, Rick and Morty does indeed have an overarching story featuring important backstory and a continuing plot. Through seven seasons, the series has included a handful of episodes that delve into Rick Sanchez’s origin story and his continuing mission for multiversal revenge. And according to us, those episodes are consistently among the series’ best.
Surely, creator Dan Harmon and company would prefer that you watch Rick and Morty as the complete, episodic experience it was intended as.

Rick and Morty season 7 brought forth one of the darkest episodes ever made in Rick and Morty‘s history. But beneath the dark and unsettling narrative, there was a heartwarming and literally “eye-opening” commentary. Episode 4, titled That’s Amorte, is all about Rick and Morty talking about a serious issue: suicide and mental health. But things got extremely eerie and bizarre until Morty and Rick managed to resolve an intergalactic crisis, which is also very relevant in our real world.

Love can transform a person, but in the case of Rick Sanchez, the transformation happens slower than a snail’s pace. Expecting Rick to change completely is like expecting a politician to keep all his promises. In Rick and Morty season 7, episode 3, we’ll get to see a heartbreaker named Rick, whose love language is “ghosting.” Not only that, Episode 3, titled Air Force Wong, beautifully depicts a political satire in a short period of time that carries plenty of relevance while being bizarre at the same time.

The new voice actors for the Adult Swim animated series Rick And Morty have been revealed for season seven.
For the titular characters, Rick Sanchez will be voiced by Ian Cardoni, while Harry Belden will voice Morty. They were revealed as the new voice actors during the credits of the season seven premiere on October 15.
Both characters were originally voiced by Justin Roiland, who was dropped by Adult Swim in January following charges of one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit by a woman Roiland was dating.
The charges against Roiland were dropped two months later after prosecutors said there wasn’t enough evidence to prove the case.
Roiland was also axed by Hulu on the series Solar Opposites. He has since been accused of nine accounts of sexual misconduct last month in a report by NBC News.

Through its first six seasons, identifying who voiced one of the many aliens, critters, or goobers on Rick and Morty was a pretty easy thing to do. That’s because, in addition to performing as the titular lead characters, co-creator Justin Roiland also embodied most of the show’s strange background players.
Following season 6, however, Roiland was fired from the series due to receiving domestic battery charges (later dropped) and multiple allegations of sexual assault. With Roiland gone, multiple actors have stepped in to fill the roles of Rick, Morty, and the whole other host of characters from the Adult Swim hit’s increasingly large constellation of galaxies, timelines, and multiverses. Even without the personnel change midway through, Rick and Morty‘s cast of voice actors was already pretty confusing beast to make sense of. So let’s try to do exactly that.

Rick and Morty’s seventh season has had an air of controversy and intrigue surrounding it as series creator Justin Roiland was fired by the show and Adult Swim due to felony domestic abuse charges being brought against him. Even though Roiland hadn’t been involved in any major creative decisions with the series for years, he still voiced the eponymous duo as well as other side characters up to his departure. With Roiland gone, the creative team behind Rick and Morty had some seemingly large shoes to fill to get the new season done on time and make sure the change was virtually seamless for long-time fans.
Rather than going the Solar Opposites route and bringing in a well-known actor with a different voice to replace Roiland and making a bit out of the whole thing, Rick and Morty showrunner Scott Marder decided to take a different approach. To start,...

“Rick and Morty” finally revealed the new voices of the titular characters in Sunday’s Season 7 premiere episode following star and co-creator Justin Roiland’s ousting over sexual misconduct allegations.

Take a look at new Season 7 footage from the animated comedy TV series "Rick and Morty", streaming October 15, 2023 on Adult Swim:
"..the series revolves around the adventures of the members of the 'Smith' household, which consists of parents 'Jerry' and 'Beth', their children 'Summer' and 'Morty' and Beth's father, 'Rick Sanchez', who lives with them as a guest.
"'Rick' is an eccentric and alcoholic mad scientist, who eschews many ordinary conventions such as school, marriage, love and family. He frequently goes on adventures with his grandson, 'Morty', a kind-hearted but easily distressed boy, whose naïve but grounded moral compass plays counterpoint to Rick's Machiavellian ego.
"Morty's 17-year-old sister, 'Summer', is a more conventional teenager who worries about improving her status among her peers and sometimes follows Rick and Morty on their adventures, whether interplanetary or interdimensional..."

The animated comedy TV series "Rick and Morty", returns for Season 7, streaming October 15, 2023 on Adult Swim:

Following the announcement of the 2023 Emmy nominations, former Best Animated Program odds leader “The Simpsons” swiftly dropped to second place behind “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal,” which a significant majority of users now predict will be lauded for its second season after winning for its first in 2021. As it fends off “The Simpsons,” which remains strong in its fight for its 12th victory, it also faces two more past winners and a new show from Netflix, which produced last year’s victor.
Since reigning champ “Arcane” has yet to return for a second season, Netflix’s hopes of conquering this category again lie with “Entergalactic,” the first stand-alone special to compete for this award since 2017. Rounding out the lineup are “Bob’s Burgers” and “Rick and Morty,” each of which has already taken the prize twice.
In order to make sense of this tight race, let’s take a closer look at each nominee.

John Wick is arguably the most simple-to-understand blockbuster franchise to have come out in the 21st century. As blockbusters and high-value IPs continue to lean heavily on reliable nostalgia pops, name brand recognition, and in-universe lore expansion, John Wick thrives on the simplicity of its high-concept hook. 4 movies in and despite a gradually built-in lore to keep the universe alive, John Wick’s appeal boils down to two factors: an inciting revenge story and nonstop, bone-crunching action.
It is a formula regularly found in the world of action video games, wherein the story – or what little of it there actually is – serves almost purely as the inciting incident for the exhilarating action we hope to experience. John Wick has delved into the land of gaming within its IP, first with the 2017 VR shooter, John Wick Chronicles. Nearly two years after domestic violence allegations were made against Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, the Orange County District Attorney’s office on Wednesday dismissed the charges, which Roiland insists were based “solely on the word of an embittered ex.”
“We dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” a spokesperson for O.C. D.A. Todd Spitzer told Deadline of the semi-sealed matter first filed in May 2020.
Having been pink-slipped from most of his gigs over the charges, Roiland could have been sentenced to up to seven years behind bars and face big fines if found guilty.
That’s now old news, but for Roiland the drawn-out matter is clearly far from closed.
Taking to social media this afternoon with a tweet entitled “justice,” the voice of scientist Rick & Morty’s scientist Rick Sanchez said he was “deeply shaken by these lies.

There have been major droid characters in both speaking and beeping roles, like C-3Po (Anthony Daniels) and R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) in the original trilogy, Bb-8 in the sequels, and Ig-11 (Taika Waititi) in "The Mandalorian," and it's been made clear that most of the droids, from the more complex conversation android to the basic floor-sweeping robot, are sentient beings with personalities and hopes and dreams. Updated with lawyer statement: Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland is facing some serious incarceration time over domestic violence charges.
In a semi-sealed case kept out of the public until today, Roiland has been charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit by the Orange County District Attorney’s office. Based on California sentencing guidelines, that means, the voice of the Adult Swim series’ scientist Rick Sanchez could be behind bars for up to seven years and face some hefty fines if found guilty.
Having said that, no trial date has been set yet for the case and it looks like a plea is in the offering, according to a hearing held Thursday.

From The Simpsons to Family Guy to South Park, certain animated shows seem to keep going and going, but could Rick and Morty be one of them? Series co-creator Justin Roiland certainly thinks so.
From the very first episode, Rick and Morty established just how long the series could last (100 years!) and Justin Roiland told Total Film that he doesn’t see the series concluding anytime soon. “There’s obviously some kind of narrative threads that you want to push towards some kind of resolution,” Roiland said. “But I think this show, like a lot of other really awesome animated shows that I love, has the potential to just go and go and go.” Adult Swim has a lot of faith in the series, even giving it an unprecedented 70-episode renewal back in 2018. Roiland points to an “infinite” amount of sci-fi stories in the multiverse that could keep the series going for years to come.
