In 2000, Andrés began his undergraduate studies in composition and
musicology at the Music Studies and Research Centre - C.I.E.M. (Mexico
City) under the tutelage of Víctor Rasgado and María Antonieta Lozano.
In 2010, he completed a Masters degree in Advance Composition at the
Royal College of Music (London) where he was awarded the title of
Regalian Scholar. At the RCM he studied composition with Kenneth
Hesketh as well as composition for screen with Joseph Horovitz and
Vasco Hexel.
He complemented his musical studies with training in filmmaking (NYFA - La Femis workshop, Paris), cinematography (EICTV workshop, Cuba) and still photography (Santa Fe Workshops & LMI School, Mexico). He has composed music for various short films, documentaries and stage performances.
He was awarded the first prize of the Musici Mojanesi - Call for scores 2007, that same year The Council of Music in Mexico (CIM/UNESCO) recommended his music to be part of the VII Mexican Music Tribune (TRIMME).
