When the Hell’s Paradise anime dropped in April 2023, no one knew that the anime was going to become one of the Dark Trio anime series, along with the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. Yuji Kaku, the creator of the series, was actually one of the editors for Chainsaw Man, and now his own series is being compared to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s magnum opus.
Hell’s Paradise
While the manga series had decent popularity, the main fame that Hell’s Paradise earned was after the release of the first season of the anime last year. The series was produced by Mappa and Twin Engine. But Kaku did not want to contribute to the anime series. In fact, the director of Hell’s Paradise, Kaori Makita, revealed this information himself.

Chainsaw Man Part 2 shifted gears when they started featuring Asa Mitaka, the host of the War Devil, Yoru. The second part follows the Academy saga and focuses mostly on the high school life of Denji, the main character, and his potential love life with Asa Mitaka. However, things are not always as easy as they should be in Chainsaw Man.
Chainsaw Man
The War Devil’s main goal is to find the Chainsaw Devil and take revenge on him. But Asa and Yoru initially do not know that Denji is the Chainsaw Man, and they have some other plans for him. However, Asa develops feelings for Denji but cannot confess them because of Yoru’s ulterior motive of turning Denji into a weapon.

Tatsuki Fujimoto has always had an eye for talent, such could be easily seen with his former editors Tatsuya Endo and Yuji Kaku. Both of them now stand big in the world of shonen manga with Spy x Family and Hell’s Paradise. The former has already been ruling the hearts of the fans while the latter made its way to the top three of the dark shonen trio. Alongside Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man stands Kaku’s Hell’s Paradise.

Since establishing Studio Ghibli in 1985, Hayao Miyazaki has continued to deliver some of the finest films the medium of animation has to offer. Unsurprisingly, the filmmaker once again hit it out of the park with The Boy and the Heron, which earned the director his second Oscar win, 2-decades after winning the accolade back in 2002 for Spirited Away.

There are always some mangas and anime that help pave the way for other artists; Eiichiro Oda and Jujutsu Kaisen writer Gege Akutami understand that very well. On one hand, most of the big works have a touch of Dragon Ball in them, with Akira Toriyama having a hand in inspiring these artists. For Akutami though, the credit goes to Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach.

Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime that does not take any obstacle as a reason to stop it from succeeding. It was recently announced by the Guinness Book of World Records that Gege Akutami’s masterpiece is the world’s most in-demand anime. While many would find it confusing as to why Jujutsu Kaisen was able to rise the ranks in a way no other anime could, there are many factors that come into play here. Out of which 5 stand out more than others.
1. Writer’s Discretion Over Viewer’s Opinion
Gege Akutami is perhaps one of the bravest mangakas in shonen works because of the way they kill off characters without any fear. In the wise words of Tatsuki Fujimoto, “Kill your darlings.

Combining different iconic pop culture elements with almost nothing in common can be really difficult. But when it came to Deadpool, Wade Wilson said ‘hold my post-credit scenes’. Well, according to Marvel’s 2016 Ryan Reynolds installment, the movie featured an iconic scene by re-enacting a particular sequence from The Office, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Tatsuki Fujimoto is undoubtedly one of the most unique and unconventional creators in the manga world. His personality is almost as peculiar as his hugely influential series, Chainsaw Man. This groundbreaking new shonen manga has exploded in popularity, earning recognition as a modern classic.
Its wildly successful anime adaptation in 2022 only boosted Chainsaw Man‘s enormous fanbase even further. What makes Chainsaw Man so unforgettable and impactful is its quirky, one-of-a-kind feel. The series blends surreal comedy, violent dark fantasy in a grim world overrun by evil Devils, and genuinely touching drama that brings readers to tears again and again.

Some similarities between certain Marvel and DC characters cannot be overlooked. The perfect example of this would be Deathstroke and Deadpool; also known as Slade Wilson and Wade Wilson. The two characters have been compared to each other ever since they existed only in comics. The one thing that has stayed constant is the question about who might win a fight between the two.
Deathstroke in DC Comics
While Deathstroke has the ability to heal himself and is an excellent swordsman and shooter, Deadpool is simply overpowered, being an extremely strong fighter, and not to mention, immortal. While many would stop the conversation here and accept the answer, there is one scenario where the Merc with a Mouth would be at a loss and the assassin would win.

In present times, Deadpool is arguably one of the most popular comic book characters, if not the most popular. His unique personality sets him apart from the typical superhero archetype, where one has to be noble, and morally upright, and his wit, sarcasm, and constant engagement with the readers make him refreshing and unconventional.
Deadpool in Marvel Comic books
But what sets apart The Merc with a Mouth is his tendency to address the audience directly and acknowledge events from the real world, setting him apart from other heroes. The hero has done it again as he breaks the fourth wall by making a subtle gesture that pays homage to Chainsaw Man.

Chris Evans’s portrayal of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was simply perfect and to the point. The thing about everyone’s favorite superhero is that he is the noblest of the most noble out there. The man is the literal personification of bravery, honor, loyalty, and honesty. However, what happens when Captain America represents all the worst parts of the United States of America?

Tatsuki Fujimoto is best known as the critically acclaimed author of the Chainsaw Man series, but he has authored several other works, including the one-shot manga Look Back, whose anime film adaptation was announced back in February. The film is set for a June 28, 2024 release in Japan, and while we’re waiting for the premiere, we are happy to announce that the producers have revealed the first cast members of the upcoming movie:
Yūmi Kawai (left) was cast as Fujino, a fourth grader who draws four-panel comics in the school newspaper, while Mizuki Yoshida (right) will be playing Kyomoto, Fujino’s classmate who has been skipping school. So far, the two of them are the only confirmed cast members of Look Back, but they will be voicing the main characters so this is definitely a scoop.

After Makima’s death, Chainsaw Man manga went on a hiatus. But later returned with a second part. The fans were excited to see how Denji’s life progressed. He was shown to live with the Control Devil’s reincarnation, Nayuta. He took care of her and fulfilled all her needs. The fans were surprised to see that he had left his Devil Hunting days before.
But there was no peace for him since the War Devil was looking for him, the Chainsaw Devil. Since then, the manga has been going through an interesting phase. The latest Chainsaw Man chapter featured Denji lying on a hospital bed in a horrible state. Even though he wanted to get out, he could not due to the authorities. There have been thousands of distinct manga created in the realm of Japanese manga, spanning a wide range of genres and themes. Some works like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, One Piece, and more have shot to the top of the charts, regardless of when they started, how long they’ve run, or how many volumes have been produced. Their success is usually determined by the number of sales the manga has accomplished.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Although One Piece by Eiichiro Oda typically tops these lists, it appears that Jujutsu Kaisen, the magnum opus of Gege Akutami, has eclipsed it as the most popular manga, accounting for 7 of the Top 15 volumes sold in the United States in January 2024. This speaks for the wave Jujutsu Kaisen has created since its release.
Although the cultural impact of Akutami’s manga is difficult to measure, Jujutsu Kaisen manga’s overall success can be inferred from the raw sales figures.

One of the greatest things about anime is that you really can’t judge a book by its cover. For example, you can have a series as wholesome as Fruits Basket be deeply buried in family trauma while a series as delightfully chaotic as Chainsaw Man can make you appreciate the self-care that comes with finally having a second to wash your face, brush your teeth, make a cup of coffee, read the paper and do some cleaning.
