Stree was smart stuff, Roohi seems like random fare. The comparison had to crop up, the only reason the producers seem to have made Roohi is because they struck gold with Stree. Blending horror with humour looked so easy in Stree. Clearly it isn't, you realise watching Roohi.
It doesn't take you long to understand why Roohi slips, despite having a core idea that could have been moulded into a winner. The film lacks imaginative storytelling. Stree, scripted by Raj and Dk, struck a fine balance crafting the dicey sub-genre of horror comedy, at the same time delivering a societal comment without getting preachy about it.
In contrast, Roohi writers Mrighdeep Singh Lamba (he wrote and directed the Fukrey films) and Gautam Mehra struggle from early on. The few good jokes are sporadic,...

In this world of ever-changing technology, controlled by the massive inventions in the fields of communication, slowly our mind and emotions are getting dominated by microchips and CPUs. And as virtual reality has taken control of our lives, mindfulness and compassion are fading away in the midst of artificial intelligence. Director Keith Gomes portrays this frame of human mind in his brilliantly crafted hard hitting short film “Shameless”.
The narrative revolves around two protagonists- an uncouth young professional (Hussain Dalal), who works from home and always orders food online but has no respect and sympathy for the migrant working class; and a pizza delivery girl portrayed by Sayani Gupta, who is battered and pummeled by the unkindness and unsympathetic world around her. The narrative flows in the path of a black comedy with a touch of a thriller portraying the absence of virtues in human character in this technology driven modern world.

Well the man is none other than Huzefa Lokhandwala, who bagged the award for Best Editing for Delhi Belly at the recently held 18th Annual Colors Screen Awards 2012 and 57th Filmfare Awards.Huzef...
