We've been waiting what feels like a very long time for Spider-Man 4, but the movie is now finally somewhere on the horizon. Rumours continue to swirl about what to expect, though everyone seems to agree that Venom will factor into the story.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scene, we learned Eddie Brock had decided against travelling to New York to confront the web-slinger. However, when he was sent back to his reality, Venom left a piece of himself behind.
That has to be touched on eventually, and with Peter Parker friendless and alone, now could be the right time to take Spidey down a dark path.
In this feature, we're taking a deep dive into the Spider-Man 4 rumours and exploring where Marvel Studios could take this story in the hero's franchise...and beyond! Just tap the "Next"/"View List" buttons below to find out more...

The well-oiled hit content-producing machine famed as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has of late seen a slew of hits and misses at the box office. Following Avengers: Endgame, the expectations from the Kevin Feige-led studio have reached sky-high. However, it has yet to meet those and churn out a live-action project for the big screens of that scale and hype.

Rumours about who will direct Spider-Man 4 continue to swirl, with Ms. Marvel and Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah among those supposedly in the mix.
Jon Watts helmed Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home but appears ready to move on from the web-slinger. Despite also leaving The Fantastic Four, Kevin Feige is said to be keen on Watts returning to the MCU for another project.
Appearing at a recent screening event for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Fallah was asked to speak on the Spider-Man 4 rumours and his reaction (refusing to answer the question while saying "I can't talk about that...") may be telling.
While we're not suggesting this has confirmed his and El Arbi's involvement with the movie, it seems highly likely the duo are likely contenders.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s entry into the MCU was one of those iconic moments in superhero cinema, that Sony badly wants to recreate. If it were up to them, the Tom Rothman-led studio would have reunited the three heroes once again in the hopes of making another $2 billion phenomenon. Marvel’s constant objection to this plan may have forced Sony to consider another option for Maguire and Garfield.

The MCU currently has numerous projects in development, both movies and shows, despite Iger’s announcement that their creative output will significantly decrease to 2-3 movies and 2 live-action shows per year.
Many projects were greenlit before the SAG-AFTRA strike and the subsequent failure of several ventures, and now they need to be completed.
One such project is ‘Armor Wars.’ Initially conceived as a movie, it was redeveloped into a show, and now it’s back to being a movie again. According to the production schedule, ‘Armor Wars’ is set to begin filming on January 6, 2025, in Atlanta, USA. Although details about the movie are scarce, the production listing has provided a brief synopsis:
Cheadle returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars, about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands. Stark discovers that someone has been stealing his...

There are few stories that have come out of Marvel that are as influential as Old Man Logan. There is no doubt, that the company has some of superhero fiction’s greatest stories, but few have the caliber and the complexity of a piece like Old Man Logan, which follows an elderly Wolverine, who has given up the use of his claws after he was tricked into killing the X-Men and other mutants in Xavier’s Institute.

The book has some of Logan’s most violent moments, one of which shows how far Logan can go even without using his claws. Spider-Man 4 is one of Marvel Studios' most highly anticipated movies but, as we write this, it has no release date or even a confirmed director.
According to Jeff Sneider, Marvel and Sony Pictures are developing a new trilogy together, with the intention being for one director - or a directing duo - to work on all three instalments.
He says it's unclear whether shooting really will begin this fall because Kevin Feige is taking his time choosing a filmmaker and is fully in charge of the creative process. That bodes well for Spider-Man 4 after it was previously reported he might be a little more hands-off due to having so many other commitments in getting the MCU back on the right track.
We've already heard a few different names for the movie, but Sneider makes a point of saying that Feige was particularly impressed with Adil El Arbi and...

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe had a rocky start this year with the major flop ‘Madame Web.’ Fortunately, there are still opportunities to turn things around with two notable releases on the horizon: ‘Kraven the Hunter’ and the final installment of the ‘Venom’ franchise.
That’s right, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ will be the final ‘Venom’ movie in the Ssu, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end of Venom.
According to notable scooper and leaker MyTimeToShineHello, Venom will make an appearance in ‘Spider-Man 4,’ though he won’t be the main villain.

At a time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe is floundering like it never has before, Marvel Studios top dog Kevin Feige and co. have found a remarkably unlikely team of saviors in multi-hyphenates Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. The sensibilities of the pair behind such off-kilter sci-fi horror films as "Synchronic" and "Something in the Dirt" proved to be a surprisingly perfect fit for "Moon Knight," an MCU show that often balanced precariously at the intersection of action-adventure, supernatural horror, and dark comedy. When the duo returned to direct the majority of "Loki" season 2, they delivered a similarly dizzying blend of trippy sci-fi, whimsical humor, and creepy horror, bringing the God of Mischief's tale to a frequently confusing, always engaging, and ultimately satisfying ending.
It's little wonder, then, that Feige and friends turned to Benson and Moorhead once again when they needed someone to overhaul "Daredevil: Born Again," the upcoming...

Marvel Studios' shared universe model launched one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, and quickly became the envy of Hollywood. After "The Avengers" grossed $1.5 billion at the box office, every studio was racing to establish its own cinematic universe (some more successful than others). But 15 years after Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man made his big screen debut, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is groaning under the weight of its own continuity.
It's a problem that has particularly been exacerbated by the McU's expansion onto Disney+. Keen to build subscribers for its new streaming service, Disney premiered eight MCU TV shows in less than two years, a move that even CEO Bob Iger has said "diluted focus and attention" for the brand. Now, in an apparent effort to shed the feeling that each new MCU release requires an exhausting amount of homework, Marvel Studios is launching a new banner called Marvel Spotlight.

The initial trailer for ‘Echo,’ an upcoming Disney+ series, was released last Friday, sparking newfound excitement among fans. The trailer highlighted numerous action-packed scenes, a substantial focus on Kingpin, and subtle nods to Maya’s Native American heritage.
For avid followers of Marvel’s “The Man Without Fear,” there were a few glimpses of Daredevil as well.
However, as per a reliable source leaking information on CanWeGetSomeToast on X, it seems Daredevil won’t play a significant role in the series, despite the inclusion of Daredevil’s most formidable cinematic adversary to date.
This should go without saying, but do Not expect to see a lot of Daredevil in ‘Echo’.

The first trailer for ‘Echo,’ an upcoming Disney+ show, dropped on Friday, and fans are probably for the first time excited about the show. The scenes featured in the trailer showcased a lot of action, a lot of Kingpin, and nods to Maya’s Native American heritage.
For the fans of Marvel’s “The Man Without Fear,” a couple of scenes featuring Daredevil were also showcased.
But according to a reputable leaker on CanWeGetSomeToast on X, Daredevil won’t be a huge part of the series at all despite featuring Daredevil’s greatest cinematic villain so far.

Marvel Studios’ Echo isn’t your normal Disney+ series. No, this series has some bite and doesn’t skimp on gritty, violent action scenes. At least, that’s the vibe laid down in the first official trailer for the comic-book-inspired series starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.
Cox was introduced in the role in 2021’s Hawkeye limited series starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin from Daredevil and Hawkeye in Echo, with the trailer confirming the series will trace his relationship with Maya.
The cast also includes Chaske Spencer (The English), Graham Greene (1883), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon), Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs), Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds), and Cody Lightning.

The series will be Marvel Studios’ first to get the TV-ma rating, and its first to debut simultaneously on sister streaming service Hulu, in addition to Disney+, on Jan. 10, 2024.
In some ways, it looks like a successor to Daredevil, the violent and beloved series that streamed on Netflix from 2015-19 and was made by Marvel TV (not Marvel Studios). Both Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Vincent D’ONofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin) appear in the show, which stars Alaqua Cox, reprising her Hawkeye role as Maya Lopez/Echo.
Last week, The Hollywood Reporter was among a group of press who previewed several scenes from the show on the Disney lot.

According to a new report, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin will not make his MCU return in 2023.
After making his debut playing the character in Netflix's Daredevil, D'Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk in 2021's Hawkeye. In the series, it was revealed that the Daredevil villain has acted as a pseudo-uncle to Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez aka Echo.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the grand return of Kingpin in the upcoming Disney+ series Echo, wherein he and Maya will reunite after she seemed to partially blind him in the Hawkeye finale.

The original ‘Daredevil’ series ran for three seasons on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. The series was critically acclaimed, and many superhero fans still consider it one of the best superhero shows ever made. The series followed the blind titular character, played by Charlie Cox, and his adventures as a lawyer during the day and the Man Without Fear at night.
The series finished its run on Netflix after Disney brought the rights back to Marvel Studios. The fans started a large social media campaign to save the series, and their prayers were ultimately answered in July 2022 at San Diego Comic-Con when the Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced a new series, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ with Cox set to return and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising the role of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
A new rumor might explain why Foggy Nelson and Karen Page won’t return in the upcoming series!

“I don’t know why I was fired, I really don’t,” declared Tucker Carlson today on his sudden departure from the airwaves of Fox News on April 24. “I’m not angry about it,” the former primetime host told pal Russell Brand. “I honestly don’t know.”
“I was surprised,” Carlson said at another point in the heavy hyped interview on Brand’s podcast. “I didn’t you know expect to get fired that morning at all in April. So, I was shocked, but I wasn’t really shocked. And I wasn’t mad. It’s not my company. And when you work for someone else, that person reserves the right and in fact has inherently the right to decide whether you work there or not.”
“You can believe me or not, but …I wish Fox well,” one-time GOP kingpin Carlson added.

Filming for Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again series is shutting down again because of complications brought on by the WGA writers’ strike. The highly-anticipated series needs to roll cameras at Silvercup East in New York. However, that’s where the primary picketing location for WGA members stands its ground. The latest pause for Disney+’s Daredevil series follows a previous shutdown when members of the Teamster Local 817 and IATSE Locals 829 and 52 would not cross the line.
Daredevil: Born Again is three months into an 8-month filming schedule. With the strike disrupting an already tight itinerary, Daredevil might not reach fans for quite some time.
Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdoch/Daredevil for the series. The actor officially rejoined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Vincent D’Onofrio will return as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, with Jon Bernthal returning as The Punisher.

Production on the revival was previously shut down by sunrise picketing outside of Silvercup East on May 8 when members of the Teamster Local 817 and IATSE Locals 829 and 52 refused to cross the line. It was then suspended for the rest of the week.

MCU’s Kingpin seems to have super strength as he demonstrates several unnatural capabilities. Kingpin was introduced in Netflix’s Daredevil series and seen once more in the Hawkeye series on Disney+, with Vincent D’Onofrio returning to his iconic character, Wilson Fisk. As for his future, D’Onofrio is set reprise the role of Kingpin again in Daredevil: Born Again and Echo. The character’s return to the spotlight has put focus on his strength and sheer durability, which brings up the question – is Kingpin was actually a superhuman? Kingpin was teased all through Hawkeye series. However, the character didn’t even make his MCU...

Vault director Tom DeNucci’s new film Johnny & Clyde is usually referred to as a “crime thriller”, but we’ve also heard that the story shifts gears to become a “balls-to-the-wall slasher/horror” flick. Since I have been a dedicated slasher fan since the 1980s, I’m looking forward to checking it out when it receives a theatrical and VOD release this Friday, May 5th. With the release just a few days away, a trailer for Johnny & Clyde has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
Scripted by DeNucci and Nick Principe, Johnny & Clyde follows the two eponymous serial killers who are madly in love and on an endless crime spree. They have their sights set on robbing a prosperous casino run by crime boss Alana and her head of security.
The film stars Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), Ajani Russell (Betty), Tyson Ritter...

Despite the cancellation of Netflix's "Daredevil" way back in 2018, Marvel Studios didn't let Ol' Hornhead slip through the cracks. Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and we eventually saw him suit up as Daredevil in "She-Hulk." Meanwhile, Matt's arch-rival Wilson Fisk/the Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) appeared in "Hawkeye." These were all seeds that will finally sprout with "Daredevil: Born Again," set for release on Disney+ in 2024.
Keep in mind, this series is probably not going to be an adaptation of the eponymous Frank Miller/David Mazzucchelli comic story, mainly since season 3 of the Netflix series already covered that ground. Still, the title is too fitting to not use for a revival series (even if Cox insists "Born Again" will stand on its own). What direction will the story of "Born Again" take? If the writers pull from more recent comics, then Wilson Fisk may soon become Mayor Fisk.

James Gunn likes Vincent D’Onofrio’s post about crossing over from the MCU to the Dcu as Swamp Thing
Vincent D’Onofrio is apparently in favour of crossing over from the MCU to the Dcu.
The actor, 63, is known for his role as Kingpin aka Wilson Fisk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He has portrayed the role in films and TV shows including Daredevil, Hawkeye, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again.
D’Onofrio appears, however, to be keen to make his DC Comics debut.
On Thursday (13 April), the actor retweeted an article from Cbr.com, in which the writer makes an argument for D’Onofrio taking on the role of Swamp Thing.
The article D’Onofrio shared is titled: “The Dcu’s perfect swamp thing actor is already the MCU’s best villain.”
“Love this,” the actor captioned the post.
Fans seem to agree with D’Onofrio, with many commenting on their excitement over the potential casting.

The second trailer of “Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse,” the sequel to the animated masterpiece “Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse” (2018), has been released online, and along with the first trailer of DC’s “Blue Beetle,” releasing yesterday, it’s safe to say comic-book media fans are having a hell of a time. Another similarity the protagonists of these two movies, Miles Morales and Jaime Reyes, respectively, share is that they proudly represent their Latino heritage. Returning to “Across the Spider-verse,” which has two different versions of the second trailer released with a different beginning, we will discuss both in this brief analysis, and the rest of the trailer follows a similar narrative.

Everybody knows that Wilson Fisk is the Kingpin of Crime, not a legitimate business and political figure. I mean, it’s right there in his name! So when Vincent D’Onofrio made his surprise cameo in the finale of Hawkeye, it made sense. He was the menacing figure behind the tracksuit mafia who had been manipulating Maya Lopez aka Echo (Alaqua Cox) all along. And while his Tommy Bahama casual wear was quite a break from the dapper brute we got to know during three seasons of Daredevil on Netflix, he still felt like the same guy, a mobster whose social graces barely cover his criminal cruelty.
But the most recent set photos from the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again lend credence to long-held rumors that Fisk is giving up his life of crime in the new series, at least on the surface, to run for Mayor of New York City.

Exclusive: Arty Froushan (Carnival Row) has a major role in Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel’s upcoming revival series on Disney+, Deadline has learned. Word of his casting comes after on-set photo of Vince D’Onofrio leaked online included a glimpse of Froushan.
Details about the character are being kept under wraps, but Froushan is believed to be playing Harry, one of the main characters opposite Charlie Cox and D’Onofrio. He appears to be an associate of D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk in the photo, which also supports the popular theory that the show will be following the Mayor Fisk Marvel Comics arc. Marvel declined to comment.

When it was originally announced, the “Daredevil: Born Again” TV adaptation was said to take place over 18 episodes. This is a huge commitment from Marvel Studios, who has typically kept shows to nine episodes, at most. So, when one of the actors from the series is already teasing Season 2, it sounds crazy. But maybe, talking about a “Season 2” isn’t exactly what you’re thinking.

Remember how big and crazy Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse felt when you first saw it? The porcine Peter Porker cracking wise. Peni Parker’s Sailor Moon-esque mechsuit. Nic Cage, its makers promise the super-sized sequel will be anchored in emotion too. And in particular, one of the most relatable sensations there is: being annoyed that the person you fancy is seeing someone else.
As you’ll recall, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacey had to vworp back to their own universes at the conclusion of Into The Spider-Verse.
