Khushali Jariwala
- Actress
- Writer
- Script and Continuity Department
Born into a family of theater people, it was inevitable that Khushali would be good for not much else, except being in the vicinity of the stage.
After finishing her schooling in Jasudben M L School and junior college in Mithibai, she completed her BA in Literature and History with ordinary marks in spite of extraordinary teachers.
This degree, while very fascinating to study, didn't really qualify her for a whole lot. After faffing about for a year, she stumbled into acting in a play, being cast for the role simply because of availability. While the director and her co actors regretted the decision during the rehearsals, somehow she managed to make it through the actual shows pretty competently - much to everyone's surprise, including her own.
This led to another play, for which she developed the story. Having no other subject for a play, the producer and director, once again, agreed to do it because there wasn't much else to choose from. As a result of having written the story of the play, Khushali ended up with a great role in it, and once again much to the astonishment of the director - producer, it ended up being one of their highest grossing plays. (Although that might have something to do with the very famous leading actress, who also happens to be Khushali's mom)
After this, there was no looking back. Khushali fell into play after play and continued to do hard core commercial Gujarati theater like her parents and grandparents before her. She enjoyed the perks that came with doing plays like multiple trips abroad and sleeping most of the day like a cat.
However, it all came to a crashing halt with the resounding failure of her second foray into writing a play. Deciding to take a "sabbatical", she took the time to actually think about what to do with her life, and found absolutely no answer. Until, miraculously, in 2019, she received a phone call from Hats Off Productions, a production house she had pitched a couple of subjects to in the past, although unsuccessfully. They offered her a job (!) to join their creative team and learn what creating a show for the screen involves, right from inception, to it reaching whichever screen people watch their content on. Since then, she has been playing as many roles as she can, behind the scenes this time, and stumbling along on the way to resembling a person who just might have an idea of what she's doing!
