The Exorcist: Believer (our review can be read Here), the latest entry in the Exorcist franchise, is now available on PVOD – you can buy it from Amazon’s Prime Video at This Link – but according to Amazon listings it won’t be reaching physical media until July of 2024. While we wait for those discs to start shipping out, Variety has revealed when the film is going to start streaming on the Peacock service… and the date isn’t far away. The Exorcist: Believer will be available to watch through Peacock as of December 1st.
Director David Gordon Green crafted the story for The Exorcist: Believer with Danny McBride (who wrote all three of his recent Halloween sequels with him) and their Halloween Kills co-writer Scott Teems, then wrote the screenplay with Peter Sattler (Broken Diamonds). Here’s the synopsis: Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago,...

What could go wrong when you send a group of elite soldiers skilled in warfare to an island in the middle of nowhere to extract a VIP? Well! Everything could go wrong, and Philippe Martinez’s 2023 action flick, Black Noise, explores such a scenario. A team of skilled soldiers took up a new task, thinking it would be a simple find-and-extract job. Little did they know the enemies they were going to face there would take more than just bullets to kill.
It all began with Ryan (Wayne Gordon) receiving a call from his superiors while he was enjoying his holiday in St. Martin with his team. His squad included Naomi (Ashton Leigh), Leila (Sadie Newman), Leo (Jackson Rathbone), and Jordan. Unfortunately, his superiors wanted Ryan to cancel his holiday and make preparations to extract a target of high value from an exclusive island. The island wasn’t for everyone.

There’s a new Exorcist movie in theatres now. The Exorcist: Believer (read our review Here) is tracking to have the highest opening weekend of the entire franchise and might end up pulling in an amount somewhere in the range of 30 to 36 million. Its theatrical run got started last night, and according to The Hollywood Reporter it drew in $2.85 million from those Thursday preview screenings.
Most of the film’s reviews are negative – it currently has a 20% score on Rotten Tomatoes and JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray described it as “abysmal” – so we’ll have to wait and see if that’s going to have any impact on the opening weekend box office.

This post contains spoilers for the season premiere of "Loki."
"Loki" is back this week, and along with the return of Norse trickster god Loki (Tom Hiddleston), agent Mobius (Owen Wilson), and the rest of the Time Variance Authority, the show's premiere also sees the introduction of a few new key characters. Among them? Ke Huy Quan's helpful, tech-savvy Ouroboros (or O.B.) and X-5, a mysterious new Tva agent played by Rafael Casal. And it's the latter who is particularly intriguing.
So far, we haven't seen X-5 do much besides question whether jet skis are part of the sacred timeline, but the character already seems to be an agitating force within the organization. He's also quite possibly poised to become a recognizable Marvel villain. After all, a featurette for the second season had a couple bits of footage from behind the scenes that showed him in a Tva jumpsuit,...

We’ve seen what director David Gordon Green and Blumhouse Productions could do with the Halloween franchise, three times over. Now we’re going to see what they can do with the Exorcist franchise when The Exorcist: Believer reaches theatres this Friday, October 6th. This movie is meant to be the start of a new trilogy of Exorcist sequels, and Universal Pictures and Peacock forked over an amount somewhere in the range of $400 million to acquire the rights to distribute this trilogy… so they’re probably very glad to hear that the film is tracking to have a franchise record-breaking opening weekend.
Deadline reports that The Exorcist: Believer, which will be playing on 3600 screens, is expected to have a domestic opening weekend in the 30 to 36 million range. Currently, the R-rated reboot/sequel is trending demo-wise like The Nun 2, which saw a $32.6M opening, meaning it’s great with the 18-34 demographic,...

The Beatles‘ The White Album is actually just called The Beatles. During an interview, Paul McCartney examined the origin of the title. In addition, John Lennon revealed what he thought of the album in retrospect.
A great artist helped come up with the official name of The Beatles’ ‘The White Album’
In the 1997 book Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now, Paul said he worked on the packaging of The White Album with artist Richard Hamilton. Hamilton is most remembered for his pop art piece Just what is it that makes today’s homes so different, so appealing? The artist asked Paul a fateful question.
“Richard asked, ‘Has there been an album called The Beatles?’ so I referred back to Emi and they said, ‘No. There’s been Meet the Beatles!, Introducing… The Beatles in America, but there’d never been an album called The Beatles,'” Paul recalled. “So he said,...

F1 shared Pitt’s visit on Instagram and posted a series of photos while the Academy Award winner was with them. In the images, Pitt is snapped with his costar Damson Idris, both wearing white fire suits and serious expressions.
The film will follow Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, as a veteran racecar driver who returns to the racetracks with his teammate, Joshua Pearce, who Idris will play.
Producers have reportedly recruited British driver Lewis Hamilton for his advice and to help give a more realistic quality to the film.
“It’s to make sure that it’s authentic and that all of you and racing fans see its authenticity and say this is believable,” Hamilton said.

Blumhouse Productions founder Jason Blum is currently doing the press rounds for Insidious: The Red Door, the fifth entry in the company’s supernatural horror franchise, which is set to reach theatres on July 7th – and during an interview with CinePOP, a couple other upcoming Blumhouse projects were mentioned. Blum had positive things to say about one of those projects, The Exorcist: Believer, but wasn’t so positive about a crossover between the Insidious and Sinister franchises, which is something he has discussed in the past.
First, Blum confirmed that The Exorcist: Believer is sticking with its October 13th release date. He told CinePOP the movie is “good and its really scary.”
David Gordon Green, who previously directed a trilogy of Halloween sequels for Blumhouse, has directed The Exorcist: Believer. He also crafted the story with Peter Sattler (Broken Diamonds), then wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride (who wrote all...

Monaco, May 29 (Ians) Dutch driver Max Verstappen kept Red Bull’s 2023 winning record intact by finishing ahead of Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin and Esteban Ocon of Alpine in a chaotic finish caused by rain shower in the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.
Defending Drivers’ champion Verstappen made a clean getaway when the race began to maintain his pole position advantage over Alonso into the first corner on the street circuit.
But as the race developed and the planned one-and-only stops approached, a rain shower hit the track to turn the encounter on its head, causing a flurry of off-track excursions, brushes with the barriers and pit lane activity.
Alonso pitted while only a portion of the track was damp and initially took on mediums, but intensifying rainfall meant he was forced back in for intermediates, which the rest of the field clambered for as well.

Disney’s latest live-action adaptation, The Little Mermaid, is here! As per studio standards, it is a significant expansion of the 1989 animated classic, increasing it by a whopping 52 minutes. Everything about this film is bigger than its predecessor. Bigger, mind you, but not better.

On Super Bowl Sunday 2018, director Ava DuVernay tweeted, "#FilmTwitter is going to explode tonight. Something is coming that I can hardly believe. Lawd. History in the making." She was teasing Netflix's surprise release of "The Cloverfield Paradox," the third installment in the hit sci-fi and horror franchise. The film hadn't officially been announced, but it dropped on the streaming service right after the game ended, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Unfortunately -- perhaps in part because the hype reached wild levels in the hours leading up to the film's release -- critics were not fans of the movie. DuVernay has since deleted her tweet.
"The Cloverfield Paradox" is a relatively derivative sci-fi thriller. It spends much of its runtime explaining what's going on, spelling out the rules of its plot mechanics. At the same time, its story can be tough to follow. It also bends over backwards to...

Let the gig economy debate begin.
One of the most contentious issues in the writers strike that erupted May 2 is the assertion by the Writers Guild of America that screenwriting is in danger of becoming part of the “gig economy.” The WGA’s proposed solutions — mandatory staffing minimums and guaranteed weeks of employment — are equally dividing labor and management.
Now that contract talks between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have cratered, complex issues are being chewed over by writers who are fired up, walking in circles (literally) and wound up about the long-term employment picture for Hollywood scribes.
“I am the example of why we’re striking,” says Cindy Chupack, a two-time Emmy winner for her work on “Modern Family” and “Sex and the City.” Chupack has scrambled for the past few years to assemble enough writing jobs — a few mini rooms, a pilot...

By this point, we’ve come to accept live-action remakes of Disney animated classics as part of our world. No matter your feelings about 2017’s Beauty and the Beast or 2019’s The Lion King — that they reimagine beloved stories for a new generation or that they are reheated cash grabs that diminish their better predecessors — there’s no denying their success. In fact, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King are both among the top 20 highest-grossing movies of all time.
So it’s easy to see why fans are interested in the latest movie in the genre, The Little Mermaid. The 1989 adaptation of a story by Hans Christian Andersen from directors John Musker and Ron Clemens kicked off the Disney Renaissance, reversing a trend that included flops The Black Cauldron and Oliver and Company and starting a run of highly-respected and award-winning films, leading to 1991’s Beauty and the Beast,...

Roger Federer talked about possible Rafael Nadal's absence from the upcoming 2023 Roland Garros.
The Swiss Maestro and the Spanish King of Clay used to be rivals on the tennis court but now their life paths separated a little bit. While Nadal still competes on the Atp Tour, Federer is enjoying his retirement and he also had a chance to co-host Met Gala recently.
A few days later, he moved to Miami for the F1 Miami Grand Prix and while he was there to enjoy the race, Skysports managed to get an interview with the 20-time Grand Slam champion and ask him about what he thinks about his good friend's struggles.
"It would be brutal (Nadal not being there), that would be tough for tennis if Rafa isn't going to be there. I still hope so, I saw he pulled out of Rome so I wish him the best."

Disney‘s live-action The Little Mermaid is swimming toward Memorial Day Weekend with a song in its heart and dollar signs in its eyes. The latest version of the Disney animated classic is tracking toward a $110M 4-day opening. That number puts The Little Mermaid in the top eight spots for a Memorial Day Weekend release. The upcoming musical won’t touch Top Gun: Maverick’s $160.5M Memorial Day start, but $110M is an outstanding total nonetheless.
Disney has a history of releasing films on Memorial Day Weekend, including Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, which earned $153M, the studio’s highest total for the 4-day holiday debut. Disney’s live-action adaptation of Aladdin earned $116.8M in 2019, placing the Guy Ritchie-directed fantasy film slightly above The Little Mermaid’s expected launch.

The four panelists on “The Masked Singer” think they know the identities of the five secret celebrities hiding inside the California Roll costumes. Some of the biggest names of Broadway (and Hollywood) won’t be receiving those phone calls of congratulations today as this morning’s Tony Awards nominations included more than a few surprising — or, in some cases, not surprising — omissions.
Aaron Sorkin, whose rewritten book for the classic musical Camelot was not beloved by critics, didn’t get any Tony approval today. His revisions were extensive enough to make him eligible in the Best Book of a Musical category, but he is not among the nominees.
As for lead actors and actresses, Oscar Isaac and Rachel Brosnahan, the bold-name stars of The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window, were overlooked, as was The Piano Lesson‘s John David Washington and Pictures From Home‘s Nathan Lane. Marcel Spears, the star of the acclaimed Fat Ham, was not nominated, nor was Olivier Award winner Hiran Abeysekera (Life of Pi). Jefferson Mays, so...

In the spring of 2022, two men were drugged and robbed after leaving gay bars in New York. Both died from their overdoses, setting the city’s LGBTQ community on edge at a time when they were already facing an increase in legislative attacks from the right. On Wednesday, authorities announced a grand jury indictment against five people involved in a series of druggings and robberies over the past two years, including murder charges for the overdose deaths of Julio Ramirez and John Umberger.

Everything done in secret will always come to light. It will be dragged out if Perry Mason seeks to expose it.
Most of the puzzles developing throughout the season were solved on Perry Mason Season 2 Episode 7.
The identity of Brooks' killer, the reason behind his murder, why Hamilton was scared, and who leaked the information about the gun to Milligan were revealed.
The most immediate puzzle was who had leaked about the murder weapon. That was not a huge surprise to the audience because we already knew it was Pete.
Pete was remorseful almost immediately after he'd given Thomas that information.
It didn't look like he had any hidden reasons behind the decision apart from a serious case of inferiority complex and a compulsive need to make bad decisions.
Perry: You broke into our safe.
Pete: You shouldn't have made it so easy.

Tom Cruise’s frequent collaborator and Mission: Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie wished the star a happy 60th birthday on Sunday by sharing a new behind-the-scenes photo that appears to be taken from the eighth M:i movie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part Two (check it out below).
While McQuarrie did not add any context about the image, it sees Cruise hanging off the wing of a mid-roll vintage red biplane — similar to the one we saw in a pre-recorded message Cruise sent from the South Africa set of the film during CinemaCon in April.
