Sometimes the relationships we try to hold onto the most hold us back forever in the worst possible way, and it isn’t until we recognize that and decide to unshackle ourselves that we can truly be free. In this episode of CW’s Gotham Knights, the amateur crimefighters deal with some personal demons and past traumas by reevaluating their relationship with their respective parental figures, and while that may be liberating to some, others get even more entrapped in their deplorable existence.
In the previous episode, Rebecca March was revealed to be the true leader of the Court of Owls all along, as she murdered her own son, Brody, after knowing that he had learned too much about the Court from Stephanie Brown. The March couple contemplates tying up loose ends by taking care of Stephanie, and unbeknownst to Rebecca, Lincoln resurrects his dead son using the Electrum. Meanwhile,...

A teenage son wants to follow his a legendary storm-tracker dad’s footsteps – with the late lamented Anne Heche sparky in one of her final roles
Every generation needs its own VFX-heavy action thriller about storm-chasing meteorology nerds and there hasn’t really been one since Twister in 1996. A supercell, by the way, is a mega-huge tornado-thunderstorm weather event that the Brody family – dad Bill (Richard Gunn), his wife Quinn and Bill’s brother Roy (Skeet Ulrich) – gets frightfully excited about. Bill and Roy chase storms like this all over Texas and Oklahoma in a gas-guzzling truck while Quinn stays home monitoring satellite feeds and screaming into a shortwave radio when she’s not looking after her and Bill’s son William.
Of course, like Icarus but with cowboy boots, Bill gets too close to the killing end of a storm and dies. Quinn is so bereaved that, despite...

"Homeland" continues to overshadow most modern entertainment thanks to its fast-paced action, alluring drama, and incredible acting. Starring Claire Danes, Damien Lewis, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, Morena Baccarin, and Morgan Saylor, the Showtime original series burst onto the air in 2011, capturing all the awards and garnering critical accolades. It faced challenges in its second and third seasons but made a triumphant return, steadily improving over the next four years.
Created by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, who happily incorporate elements from their other prestigious TV series, such as "24," "Homeland" follows CIA Agent Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes) as she attempts to uncover a dangerous secret held by Sgt. Nicholas Brody (played by Damien Lewis), who may or may not be a terrorist. The premise is clever, the writing is smart, and the storytelling is brilliant. "Homeland" goes beyond that and earns points for tackling important current political issues,...

Things take a shocking turn in the CW’s Gotham Knights as allegiances change and the eponymous vigilante team once again find themselves racing against the clock while saving Turner’s life. In the previous episode, the leader of the Court of the Owls, Lincoln March, tortured a captive Turner using hallucinogens, showing him a vision of his deceased parents and implanting the idea that Bruce Wayne was somehow responsible for their deaths. The team found out about Electrum by decoding Alan Wayne’s century-old map and tried to strike a deal with the Court, demanding Turner’s return in exchange for a fake replica of Electrum, the elusive mineral with mystical properties for which the Court had been searching for so long.
However, their plan backfired when, in order to verify the authenticity of the healing property Electrum, Lincoln March sliced open Turner’s throat, and in order to save him,...

Match #1: Double Jeopardy Match – Claudio Castagnoli def. Rey Fenix The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The winner earns a shot at the other man’s championship. Claudio ducked a reverse kick from Rey Fenix. Claudio caught a flying Rey Fenix and nailed him with a vicious backbreaker. But then Claudio got bounced around with two tope suicidas from Rey Fenix. The third time was not the charm, though, as Claudio caught Rey and then dropped him across the barricade outside the ring. Rey Fenix walked the top of the barricade and clobbered Claudio with a hurracanrana onto the floor. Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta watched the match on a monitor backstage.

Starring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, and Morena Baccarin, "Homeland" follows the life of Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Lewis) after a near-decade-long stint in captivity. He immediately falls under the scrutiny of resourceful (and bipolar) CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Danes). She believes he's become a terrorist. So begins a cat-and-mouse thriller filled with numerous twists and shocking moments.
Throughout its eight seasons, "Homeland" took its viewers on a wild emotional ride. After winning several awards amidst its premiere season in 2011, the spy series stumbled to live up to its hype. Eventually, showrunners Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon (of "X-Files" and "24" fame) shifted "Homeland" into a brilliant new direction -- carrying the show to a satisfying finale.
So, which season is the best that "Homeland" has to offer? Pop in some jazz music, grab a big bottle of wine, and read on to see every season of "Homeland" ranked worst to best.

Written by Joseph Nixon and Ian Shaw, the look-alike son of legendary actor Robert Shaw, the stage comedy The Shark Is Broken, which goes behind-the-scenes of the filming of the 1975 Steven Spielberg classic Jaws (watch it Here) and sees Shaw taking on the role of his father, made its premiere at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe before moving to the West End’s Ambassadors Theatre in 2021. And now, Deadline reports, The Shark Is Broken is heading to Broadway!
Deadline shares the details: Directed by Guy Masterson, The Shark Is Broken will begin a limited 16-week engagement on Tuesday, July 25, at the John Golden Theatre, with an official opening on Thursday, August 10.
Shaw reprises the role of his father, who played Quint in Jaws. The stage comedy imagines what happened on board Quint’s boat (the Orca) when the cameras stopped rolling during the filming of Spielberg’s blockbuster.
This marks the Broadway debut for Shaw.

Director Dexter Fletcher’s newest film, Ghosted, is a mismatched-couple rom-com simmering in a high-octane espionage potboiler. Cole, played by Chris Evans, is a stay-at-home, man-of-the earth kinda guy; Sadie, played by Ana de Armas, is an international traveler. He’s a little needy. She is a one-woman Independence Day fireworks display. He’s a farmer, who sells his crops at an open market, not convenience stores. She is a CIA assassin, who kills her marks in the open, behind cover, or whatever happens to be most convenient at any moment.
And Adrien Brody plays Leveque, the biggest inconvenience in their relationship.
Apple TV+’s new film is the third collaboration for de Armas and Evans, following Knives Out and Netflix’s The Gray Man. But that’s not what makes Brody the third wheel. His character Leveque has a thing for power and gets his jollies sprinkling fire ants on clumsy underlings.

Television shows are, inevitably, made up of parts. On the surface, there’s the great, overarching story that begins with the first shot and ends with the last. But, within that narrative, there are small parts: the series, and the episode. It is the smallest of these sub-divisions, the episode, that is most intriguing. A truly brilliant episode can bridge the gap between cinema and TV. It can refine the essence of the best shows into a single, self-contained moment. At its most potent, a perfect episode is like mainlining all the myriad ingredients of prestige television in a single sitting.
But great TV shows do not necessarily beget great episodes and, conversely, great episodes are not always the sign of a great show. The start of 2023 has been dominated by discussions about The Last of Us, a perfectly good series including one stunning episode. In it, two supporting characters...

Hard to believe, but we’ve not taken a trip into “rom-com” land in 2023. Really? Has this staple been dormant for several months, but with those warmer Spring temps, well, where do most hearts venture? Oh, and since we’re getting nearer to Summer this one’s a hybrid as it’s really a “rom-com-spy-thriller”.This isn’t rare as we’ve seen this played out for at least 30 years, going back to Arnold and new Oscar darling Jamie Lee in True Lies (which inspired a recent CBS TV series). And in the last dozen or so years we’ve had the big “spy reveals” in Knight And Day (Tom Cruise) and Killer (Ashton Kutcher), not to mention the double reveal in Mr. And Mrs. Smith (Bradgilina begins). Well, this new one has a bit of a twist in that the undercover agent is a lady. Plus it also takes...

There is a lesson Hollywood can learn from Apple TV+’s action romcom Ghosted: if you want to tell a story about a schlub who falls for a spy, don’t cast Captain America as the ordinary one. It’s just asking too much of your audience. You can’t present us with Chris Evans as a guy named Cole Riggan and then argue he’s the polar opposite to Ana de Armas’ ass-kicking, CIA operative Sadie. When Evans falls, he doesn’t flail his limbs about like us mere mortals. When he has to pose as a legendary agent and break bread with the enemy (Adrien Brody’s Leveque), there’s a smirk on his face that reads as a little too confident, a little too in control. You don’t get the sense this guy even sweats.

Ghosted is an over-caffeinated action comedy romance that tries too hard to be too many things, starting out as a sweet budding rom-com before drastically morphing into a violent international spy-chase movie anchored by a constantly bickering couple. This is one of those Hollywood movies that rarely slows down to breathe, throwing everything at the wall and just hoping some of it sticks.
It is also the kind of big-scale concoction that lives or dies on the appeal of its two big movie stars. In that regard, with a lovestruck Chris Evans working against his Captain America persona, and gorgeous and smart Ana de Armas switching gears on a dime, we do have a winning combination in front of the camera no matter how much the credibility of their instant union is stretched. You only wish director Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman) had slowed it down in order to make the one...

2023 marks the 45th anniversary of the release of Jaws 2 (watch it Here), the most well-regarded of the Jaws sequels. So it seems quite appropriate that a cool Jaws 2 discovery had been made this year: The Daily Jaws has found a long-lost scene from the film, and the only known footage of this scene comes from a Brazilian VHS! This leads me to believe that the scene was probably always included in the Brazilian home video release of Jaws 2, but that’s not completely clear from the report on The Daily Jaws.
What we do know is that Jaws 2 begins with a pair of divers being attacked by a shark while checking out the sunken wreckage of the Orca boat from the first movie. Later in the film, Deputy Hendricks (Jeffrey Kramer) is shown to have retrieved the underwater camera that was dropped by the divers. In this lost footage,...

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody make such a sweet pair. The two have been together for the past 10 years now and it sounds like, for Brody, their romance was love at first sight. "I think the first time I saw her is when I met her at Canters, the deli in Los Angeles," the actor said in an episode of the "Podcrushed" podcast on April 12, 2023, hosted by Meester's "Gossip Girl" costar Penn Badgley. "I used to eat there all the time. I was there on my own with maybe a friend or two, and Josh [Safran] happened to be like taking a bunch of the cast of 'Gossip Girl' through after a prop party for your first upfronts. That's when I saw her, and, yeah, I was smitten instantly."

Adam Brody knew he was interested in his now-wife Leighton Meester when he first saw her at a local deli in Los Angeles — though he wasn’t sure if she felt the same.
The Fleishman Is in Trouble star stopped by Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed where he talked about the first time he saw Meester. She was with CW producer Josh Schwartz and her Gossip Girl co-stars at Canters Deli.
“That’s when I saw her, and, yeah, I was smitten instantly,” he said on the podcast. “And I was, you know, smitten for a long time. I didn’t get to know her for many years after, even though we even worked together briefly. She’s so lovely, and she’s so sweet. She’s so nice. She’s so good.”

Even though Star Wars Celebration is chock full of anything and everything from a galaxy far, far away, it's also an official Lucasfilm event, so that means this year's convention attendees were also treated to some hype for the upcoming "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." Since this is the final adventure for Harrison Ford as the iconic archaeologist, Indiana Jones is bound to get one hell of a send-off, and that includes a barrage of new merchandise inspired by all of Indy's adventures over the years. Well, maybe not so much "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," but certainly "Raiders of the Lost Ark, "Temple of Doom," and "The Last Crusade."
Hasbro has already released the first wave of Indiana Jones figures under the Adventure Series banner, but Star Wars Celebration 2023 allowed them to unveil the figures in the second wave, which include new versions of Indy from both...

Spoilers for "Star Trek: Picard" follow.
"Star Trek: Picard" season 3 has promised to be a grand finale for the "Next Generation" cast. Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) has finally reunited his whole bridge crew from Enterprise-d -- also appearing are Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) from "Star Trek: Voyager" and the Changelings, the antagonists of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."
Despite running headfirst down nostalgia lane, the final season has some new characters too. One is Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick), captain of the USS Titan-a. Shaw is no fan of Picard or Seven because he has a grudge against the Borg. Why? He was at the Battle of Wolf 359, depicted in the classic "Next Generation" episode, "The Best of Both Worlds." A Borg Cube, led by tactical info gleaned from the assimilated Picard (aka Locutus), decimated the Starfleet forces. Shaw was part of the engineering crew on the USS Constance and...

We’ve lost another Hollywood legend. The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that cinematographer Bill Butler, best known for his work on the 1975 Steven Spielberg classic Jaws, has passed away at the age of 101. Butler died on Wednesday evening, according to the American Society of Cinematographers. He would have turned 102 on Friday – today.
Born on April 7, 1921 in Cripple Creek, Colorado, Butler earned his first entertainment industry credit by working as a camera operator on the 1959 film 1001 Arabian Nights. His first cinematographer credit came when his friend, director William Friedkin, hired him to shoot the 1962 TV movie The People vs. Paul Crump. He never attended film school, he just taught himself cinematography by watching movies and referring to the ASC manual. That approach definitely worked out for him. Over the next fifty-four years, he served as the cinematographer on eighty-four more projects, including Jack Nicholson’s Drive, He Said; The Bold Men,...

The legendary, Oscar-nominated cinematographer of Steven Spielberg’s horror classic Jaws, Bill Butler passed away Wednesday at the age of 101 years old, THR reports this morning.
The site notes, “He would have turned 102 on Friday.”
It was back in 1976 that Bill Butler was co-nominated for a “Best Cinematography” statue at that year’s Academy Awards for his work on One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, a film released just one year after Butler served as Cinematographer on the horror classic Jaws.
“His iconic shots included the early dawn attack of the first victim that opens the film, the Vertigo-inspired dolly zoom that accompanies Chief Brody’s shock at witnessing a shark attack from the beach and the extreme close-ups of panicking swimmers,” THR explains, detailing Bill Butler’s integral role in the making of the game-changing summer blockbuster.

Bill Butler, the self-taught, Oscar-nominated cinematographer whose work on the landmark 1975 horror film Jaws unleashed a wave of anxiety for beachgoers that lasts to this day, has died. He would have turned 102 on Friday.
Butler died Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, according to the American Society of Cinematographers. He is survived by five daughters and his wife, Iris.
During his five-decade career, Butler also shot Francis Ford Coppola’s The Rain People (1969) and The Conversation (1974); Peter Hyams’ Capricorn One (1977); Randal Kleiser’s hit musical Grease (1978); and Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982) and Rocky IV (1985), all written and directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone.
On another noteworthy 1975 release, Butler replaced the fired Haskell Wexler midway through production on Milos Forman‘s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Both shared an Oscar cinematography nomination for their work.
Butler also had replaced Wexler on The Conversation after creative differences forced Wexler off that production early on.

So who had “Keanu Reeves doing a good deed makes Mike Myers look like a Hollywood diva” on their 2023 Pop Culture Bingo card? As it turns out, Mike Myers allegedly fired a bodyguard for looking him in the eyes for a split second on the set of “the awfully good” The Love Guru.
Mike Myers has swiftly denied the allegations of The Love Guru incident, with a representative saying, “Mike knows nothing about this. Not aware of anyone being hired or fired.”
Let’s give some context. It all started when Sonic Radio host Jay Brody caught wind of a video of Keanu Reeves helping the John Wick: Chapter 4 crew haul equipment up stairs. This, of course, prompted some to cry, “Oh, no, don’t cheer Keanu for being decent, it’s what we should all be doing anyway!” In a now-viral tweet, Sonic Radio host Jay Brody responded, “People...

Mike Myers has responded to claims that a crew member was fired from one of his films because they looked him in the eye.
Last week, radio presenter Jay Brody alleged on social media that he had been working in security on the set of 2008 comedy The Love Guru.
Brody claimed that he was warned that “if you look at him, you’re going to get fired”, and was later fired after he “caught his eye for a second”.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Myers’ representatives said that the Austin Powers star was unaware of the alleged incident.
“Mike knows nothing about this,” they said. “Not aware of anyone being hired or fired.”
Brody initially shared his claims in response to a viral video that showed Keanu Reeves moving production equipment while on the set of John Wick: Chapter 4.

Mike Myers “knows nothing” about a recent claim that alleges he had a crew member on “The Love Guru” fired because he looked at him straight in the eyes. Vancouver radio DJ Jay Brody caused a stir on social media when he shared a video of Keanu Reeves helping move production equipment on the set of “John Wick: Chapter 4.”
“People saying that ‘[Keanu] shouldn’t be praised for helping’ have no idea what it’s like working in film,” Brody posted on Twitter. “Mike Myers had me fired off the set of ‘The Love Guru’ because I made eye contact with him, and I was there as his bodyguard…give Keanu his roses.”
Brody later clarified in a follow-up video that he was not Myers’ direct bodyguard on set but worked for the film security unit on the set of “The Love Guru,” Myers’ infamous 2008 flop co-starring Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake.

This post contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" season 3, episode 5.
The latest episode of "The Mandalorian" ended with a pair of movie nods that are sure to resonate in the minds of any cinephile. The first arrived in the form of a "Jaws" reference, with Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) coming across a downed Lambda shuttle much like Hooper and Brody stumble upon Ben Gardner's damaged boat in Steven Spielberg's classic horror movie.
But Carson Teva needs more information than just a visual of the shuttle. He has to go in deeper. To that end, he has his droid enter and then scan the interior of the ship. Popping off one of its panels, Teva's droid goes in and starts beaming out a thin blue light, looking over the insides of the ship.
Eagle-eyed movie fans will see this for exactly what it is: a nod to...

The conspiracy regarding the Court of Owls feels all-pervasive, as it has operated and controlled Gotham City from the shadows for centuries, and Turner finds out that the mysterious organization was also responsible for the generational murder of the Waynes. The episode also featured Talon, a ruthless assassin of the Court who almost ended Duela’s life, but fortunately, the team intervened, and somehow they managed to live another day. The episode ended showing Carrie Kelley, the Robin,...
