Shocking as it may seem given the amount of horror flicks I review here on Nerdly, I’m not just a horror fan. My movie-loving passion is in fact split between three genres: horror, teen comedies and action movies. As much as I can appreciate low-budget horror flicks I can also appreciate low-budget action movies – which, at least from major studios, are few and far between these days. Which is one of the reasons I was excited to check out Sniper: Legacy.
The other reason? Well, as a teenager I used to love Impact Magazine. It really was my film bible, I’d religiously pick up each and every issue from the newsagents near where I used to catch the bus to college; in...

Tagline: "Checking into Your Worst Nightmare!" Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort completed production earlier this year. Director Valeri Milev's (Re-kill) sequel to this long lasting franchise keeps up the bloodshed as seen in the film's first teaser trailer. The short clip brings back Three Fingers (Rhys Coiro) and Sawtooth (Danko Jordanov). Both characters can be seen working their way through two mountain bikers. This upcoming release stars Sadie Katz (House of Bad), Aqueela Zoll (Killjoy Goes to Hell), Anthony Ilott, Chris Jarvis, Rollo Skinner and Billy Ashworth. Fans of the series can see the teaser below. The cannibals are ready to introduce a new family member in Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort. Danny (Anthony Ilott) returns to his ancestral home, in Hobb Springs, West Virginia. Here, the Hillicker family has been preying on local tourists for centuries. But, Danny is reluctant to take on the old family customs and...

Who new that some 11 years after the series started Wrong Turn 6 would come along to cement the franchise as the modern successor to Tobe Hopper’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Yes the films started out (and some would say continued) as sub-par rip-offs of all the backwoods slashers that had come before it Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (to give the film it’s complete title) builds on what has come before, adding much-needed story and mythos to a series that – in its last two entries – were little more than effects show pieces. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the previous two films, which themselves rebooted the franchise in a “different” direction but this sixth film (really, I...

We've all heard the story of the lost film; that old horror classic that mysteriously and tragically falls through the cracks never to be seen again. A handful of them, such as the often bereaved London After Midnight, go on to attain a legendary status that was likely only made possible by their very absence. But what if, what if, some old forgotten film did carry the whisper of something dark, something real, something fat, deadly, and wanting its mother. Some mysteries are best left sleeping.
Horror geek Tyler (Tad Hilgenbrink) has deaf ears for any such advice. The Hills Run Red is a lost film; a notorious slasher that disappeared without a trace after a very small screening many years ago. Hungry to gain some notoriety by finding the missing treasure, he tracks down the promiscuous and drugged out stripper daughter (Sophie Monk) of the film's director (William Sadler), sobers the girl up,...
