We’re still two months out from the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, but the film is already shaping up to be a huge success. Tickets for the film went on sale earlier this week, and AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron took to X/Twitter to declare that Deadpool & Wolverine has sold more first-day tickets than any other R-rated movie in their history.
“Many big movies will open in May, June & July. Including Deadpool & Wolverine starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman,” Aron said. “Opens July 25. Some 200,000 movie fans have bought their AMC tickets already. This is more Day 1 ticket sales at AMC than for any other R-rated movie ever.“
THR crunched the numbers, which reportedly works out to somewhere around $8 million to $9 million in first-day sales. Keep in mind that’s just for AMC. Fandango also reported that Deadpool & Wolverine broke their first-day ticket sales record for the...

The first trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine smashed global records back in February by scoring 365 million views in 24 hours, and the Merc With a Mouth's MCU debut has now broken another pre-release record.
Tickets went on sale earlier this week with a new teaser (check it out below), and the CEO of AMC Theaters, Adam Aron, has now announced that the superhero team-up movie sold more tickets on day one than any other R-rated movie in the company's history.
This is just one theater chain, of course, but AMC is the biggest in the world, with the largest share of the U.S. theater market ahead of Regal and Cinemark.
The prospect of seeing Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson joining forces with Hugh Jackman's Logan is clearly a huge draw, and while it obviously remains to be seen how the movie ultimately performs at the box office, this is a very good sign.

Deadpool And Wolverine Bond Over A Beer In New Advert; Ryan Reynolds Shares Disclaimer For The Movie
Following yesterday's latest teaser for Deadpool and Wolverine, we have a new advert for Heineken Silver, which sees Wade Wilson and Logan take a break from beating the crap out of each other to enjoy a beer together.
The clip begins with Wolverine preparing to pop his claws, when the Merc With a Mouth reveals that he "borrowed" some of the mutant's adamantium in order to "create something special."
This footage won't be in the actual movie (unless it's even more meta than we realized), but we wouldn't be at all surprised if there's some blatant product placement in there!
In addition, Ryan Reynolds has released a very funny disclaimer for the upcoming movie in an effort to keep our expectations in check.
“We’re very excited to be joining you July 26. But we should set the table correctly. This film is as paper thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth.

The Taylor Swift as Dazzler rumors first began when the singer's likeness was used for the musical mutant's album cover in X-Men: Apocalypse. Nothing ever came of it back then, but the rumors persisted.
Speculation really kicked into overdrive when the pop megastar was spotted at the Kansas City Chiefs versus New York Jets game with Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) in 2023.
Levy was asked about the Dazzler rumors last year, and declined to confirm or deny Swift's involvement in the R-rated threequel.
“I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s McU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”
Earlier today, shortly after tickets for the movie went on sale, Reynolds was asked about a potential part for Swift.

The first two Deadpool movies were proudly R-rated, but when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, fans were concerned that any future appearances from the character would be stuck in the realm of PG-13. Thankfully, Deadpool & Wolverine will be arriving in theaters with its R-rating intact, and no one was more surprised than Ryan Reynolds himself.
While speaking with Fandango, Reynolds admitted he was “surprised” Disney allowed them to be the first R-rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I hope it doesn’t sound condescending, I’m really proud of them for doing this. I think it’s a huge step for them,” Reynolds said. “I mean, it adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining forever.“
Reynolds continued, “I was surprised though, that they let us go as hard R, but very grateful. I mean...

Marvel debuted a new 60-second promo (check it out here) and poster for Deadpool and Wolverine earlier today when tickets went on sale, and we now have an updated synopsis for the studio's "most significant mistake to date."
We've seen a few different versions (most likely placeholders for merchandizing purposes) of this logline already, but this is by far the most unserious yet!
“Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date - Deadpool & Wolverine," it reads. "A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier... reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to - F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.”

Tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine are now on sale, and Marvel Studios has marked the announcement with a new teaser and poster.
The minute-long promo for Wade Wilson's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut only features a few new shots (Wolverine's mask is still nowhere to be seen), but there is a funny, if typically juvenile, gag right at the end, as the Merc With a Mouth asks Logan to "hold still" while he finishes... pulling his sword out.
The poster spotlights Wade and Wolvie locked in combat. It's a pretty cool one-sheet, but again, it seems like the studio has decided to keep the iconic mutant's full costume under wraps until audiences are sitting down to watch the movie.
This would usually be a smart strategy, but the impact will be lessened somewhat by the fact that we've already seen so much promo art spotlighting the mask. Maybe Marvel should...

A very impressive - and very bloody - independent fan-film has been shared online, and it reimagines Wolverine as a Viking warrior in Medieval times.
Directed by Godefroy Ryckewaert, the ultra-violent Logan The Wolf begins with a group of mercenaries approaching this far more ruthless and bloodthirsty take on the iconic mutant hero, who has been accused of brutally slaughtering anyone who encounters him - including women and children.
Logan, who refers to himself as "Fenrir's Fury," makes short work of his attackers in extremely gruesome fashion, before being approached by a man who offers to join forces so they can both rid the world of the human "animals."
We don't want to spoil exactly who this character is supposed to be, but be sure to keep watching for a short post-credits scene.
Check out Logan The Wolf below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

When Shawn Levy was offered the chance to direct Deadpool & Wolverine, he quickly signed on not just because he loved the character but because of a major regret.
“On the set of The Adam Project, Ryan asked me if I would consider doing Deadpool 3,” Levy told Empire. “And I remember him saying, ‘I know you’re gonna say no, but I’m really going to try and talk you into it.’ And my response was, ‘I’m not gonna f***ing say no, are you kidding? It’s a hard and immediate yes, sir!’”
For Levy, the opportunity to direct Deadpool & Wolverine allowed him to make up for turning down The Wolverine a decade prior. “When we were making Real Steel, Hugh was looking to do The Wolverine, and he asked me if I wanted to do it,” Levy said. “And like a moron, I said, ‘No’. Because...

Nobody expected Hugh Jackman to reprise the role of Wolverine when he announced that he had hung up the claws after James Mangold's Logan, and the chances of a third Deadpool movie featuring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc With a Mouth seemed pretty slim when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox back in 2019.
Even so, both actors will return as their respective characters for this summer's Deadpool and Wolverine, and fans are wondering if we will see more of Wade and Wolvie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe down the line.
Empire put the question to Reynolds and Jackman during an interview for the latest issue of the magazine.
“I’m very nervous talking to you,” responded Reynolds. “I’ve never been so scared of what’s coming out of my mouth,” added Jackman.

Earlier today, Disney CEO Bob Iger outlines plans to reduce Marvel Studios' film and TV output over the next few years. This is part of a "quality over quantity" approach, which was implemented after several recent MCU projects underperformed.
In fact, the most recent big-screen release, The Marvels, ended up becoming the lowest-grossing MCU movie of all time after taking in just $206 million worldwide at the end of its theatrical run.
While speaking to Empire, studio heads Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito acknowledged that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going through a "rough time," but they both believe that this year's Deadpool and Wolverine will mark a turning point for the franchise.
“If we just stayed on top, that would have been the worst thing that could have happened to us," said D'Esposito. "We took a little hit, we’re coming back strong. Maybe when you do too much,...

Marvel Studios has released a new TV spot for Deadpool and Wolverine - although it's not exactly packed with new footage!
There might be one or two new shots in there, but the teaser is mostly made up of footage from both previous trailers (set to Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight"), as Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) attempts to convince Logan (Hugh Jackman) to help him save the world.
We also have what might be our first live-action look at Wolvie's comic-accurate mask.
Numerous pieces of promo art depicting the full costume have been shared online at this stage, but this photo from a merchandise stand appears to be a shot of Jackman himself in the suit. It's hard to be certain, as it may simply be much more detailed artwork than we've seen previously.

There may be minor Spoilers in the footage description. Be warned. After several disappointments in the past year, Marvel Studios is looking to get back on track with Deadpool & Wolverine. This highly anticipated sequel will bring ol’ Wade Wilson into the MCU and finally team him up with Wolverine. The audience at CinemaCon in Las Vegas got a peek at some exclusive footage from Deadpool & Wolverine, which will make you wish the movie was coming out tomorrow.
Deadpool and Wolverine actually opened Disney’s presentation with a foul-mouthed “turn off your cell phones” PSA. It showed Hugh Jackson in full costume and featured the pair yelling directly at the audience. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased that the film will receive an “intentionally gross” popcorn bucket to rival the one from Dune: Part Two.
Finally, CinemaCon audiences were treated to nine minutes of Deadpool & Wolverine, which Feige called “F***ing amazing.

One of the biggest upcoming movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is definitely ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ This third installment is significant for a few reasons. It marks Deadpool’s introduction into the MCU and stands as the only MCU film slated for release in 2024. There’s hope that it will help regain some of the trust lost by fans due to several poorly received movies in recent years.
Recently, a teaser trailer dropped during the Superbowl, giving us a peek into the movie’s plot. We see Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, trying to get on with his life after bringing Vanessa back in ‘Deadpool 2.’ However, his plans are interrupted when he’s nabbed by Tva Agent Mr. Paradox, though the reason remains a mystery. The teaser also confirmed the return of several familiar faces from the ‘Deadpool’ series. Morena Baccarin’s return was announced a few weeks ago,...

One of the biggest upcoming MCU releases is most certainly ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The third installment in the franchise marks several big things. It’s Deadpool’s first foray into the MCU and also the only MCU movie to be released in 2024, in the hopes of restoring at least some of the faith that the fans of the franchise lost in the last several years due to a string of several poorly received movies.

It’s no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is struggling, both creatively and at the box office. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels proved to be disappointments last year, with the latter standing as the lowest-grossing film in the entire MCU, but Deadpool 3 may just be able to save them.
While speaking with BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast, Matthew Vaughn said that Deadpool 3 will provide a much-needed jolt to the MCU. “The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable,” Vaughn said. “That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life… I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.

Deadpool 3 is officially wrapping up production, and Ryan Reynolds is celebrating the occasion with a picture of his crotch! Move over, Jareth, there’s a new codpiece in town! The superhero threequel has fought an uphill battle since cameras started rolling, with unpredictable weather, Hollywood strikes, and Hugh Jackman gumming up the works. As the only Marvel Studios film releasing in 2024, a lot is riding on the Merc With a Mouth’s next round of silver-screen shenanigans.
The good news is that fans are climbing the walls for the next Deadpool movie. The sequel carries an air of mystery as Jackman’s involvement means Wade and Logan will finally lock horns on the big screen. Rumors suggest Deadpool 3 includes aspects of multiversal madness, too, leading to surprising cameos and nods to bygone eras of Marvel’s cinematic offerings. Expect the X-Men to get roasted beyond recognition, True Believers.

The first official photo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine in Deadpool 3 was released earlier this year. With the production moving outside, the studio knew that it was only a matter of time before paparazzi would snag a shot of the pair. Of course, they were right, and we’ve seen a number of Deadpool 3 leaks since then.
Ryan Reynolds released a statement on Instagram Stories commenting on the Deadpool 3 leaks and expressed his hope that websites and social media would try to keep a few of the movie’s surprises under wraps.
“Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies,” Reynolds wrote. “It’s important for us to shoot the new Deadpool film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.

A heated bidding war for Calamity Hustle is currently underway, with Warner Bros., Netflix, and Amazon all in the running to snag the project. According to THR’s sources, the film follows a “down-on-his-luck former Los Angeles detective-turned-private investigator who, after being shaken down by a vicious crime lord, must track down his estranged brother who is responsible for interfering with a diamond heist.” In addition to starring in the film, Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum will also produce through their respective production banners, Maximum Effort and Free Association.
Warner Bros. is reportedly offering somewhere around $20 million for each actor, while Netflix and Amazon are both offering $50 million to be split however the producers want. One offer for the...

Deadpool 3 was in the midst of production when the SAG-AFTRA strike forced filming to come to a halt, but now that a deal has been reached, the Merc with a Mouth will soon be getting back to work. Now that Ryan Reynolds is able to promote Deadpool 3, the actor took to X/Twitter to drop a look at Dogpool with his very own Deadpool costume.
As for those new release dates, Marvel Studios announced that Deadpool 3 will now open on July 26, 2024 instead of May 3, 2024. That July date was previously held by Captain America: Brave New World , which has moved to February 14, 2025. Thunderbolts has moved from December 20, 2024 to July 25, 2025. Blade has also shifted, moving from February 14, 2025 to November 7, 2025.

While picking up his “pen” for a first-person essay in Esquire magazine, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy revealed he’d constructed an elaborate tribute to Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi for the upcoming superhero threequel. According to Levy, he’s recreated pivotal scenes from the Richard Marquand-directed classic in Deadpool 3, with an intense attention to detail.
“I vividly remember the scene in which Luke is hiding from Vader in the Emperor’s room and Vader gives the speech that ends with ‘If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps your sister will,'” Levy wrote in his guest feature for Esquire. “It was dead quiet [in the theater]. Pin-drop silence. Suddenly Vader has pushed the wrong button. Luke comes screaming out of the shadows and just goes to town in a light saber battle against Vader. The way that felt: The forty seconds of stillness from the audience,...

Hugh Jackman had played Wolverine for nearly twenty years when he finally hung up the claws with Logan. The James Mangold movie was a fitting conclusion for the character, but just a few years later, Ryan Reynolds convinced Hugh Jackman to return to his famous role for Deadpool 3. However, there was concern among fans that Jackman’s appearance in Deadpool 3 could mean that the events of Logan would be ignored or changed, but director Shawn Levy has said that won’t be the case.
“I have always said that I can’t wait for Deadpool 3 to come out because all I want to do is give interviews alongside Ryan where we talk about our reverence for the movie Logan,” Shawn Levy told BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast. “Logan is canon. We love Logan. That happened. I want the world to know, as the producer and director, all...

Deadpool 3 loses its May release date as the strike continues to affect the 2024 theatrical schedule
We’re hearing disappointing news concerning 20th Century Studios‘ Deadpool 3 release. According to Deadline, the highly-anticipated threequel starring Ryan Renolds and Hugh Jackman will lose its May release date because of complications related to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Deadline says that even if the strike ends in the next few weeks, it’s almost impossible for the superhero sequel to keep its original release date. In its current state, the movie is half-finished. In other words, there’s lots more work to do on the film before it can hit its target of May 3, 2024. While the Deadpool 3 delay is a bummer, it’s understandable, given the circumstances.
According to sources, there’s a chance Captain America: Brave New World could move to an earlier date, seeing as it’s finished production. Additionally, if Deadpool 3 can’t open by July 26, 2024, it could move to November, a sweet spot for MCU success.

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe reigned supreme, the biggest comic-book movies came from 20th Century Fox. Of course, Disney acquired the studio several years ago, bringing those movies and characters into the house of mouse. For those of us who remain fond of the early days of Fox’s Marvel movies, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy has said that the upcoming threequel will certainly pay homage to that period.
“Deadpool and Wolverine are iconic Marvel characters; more specifically, iconic Marvel-of-the-Fox-era characters,” Shawn Levy told Total Film (via ComicBookMovie.com). “We’re not going to pretend: ‘Oh, we snap our fingers, and suddenly that Fox legacy doesn’t exist, and it shaped a lot of what we now know as the MCU.’ Fox also shaped Ryan’s career, Hugh’s career and my career. So there’s a lot of history there, and there’s a lot of Marvel history at Fox.

Taylor Swift as Dazzler is probably one of the longest-awaited MCU debuts, and fans could be getting their wish in the upcoming ‘Deadpool 3‘ based on our sources. The punk-rock superhero is already synonymous with Swift’s style and appearance, and Ryan Reynolds’ comments about hoping to have her on the set in 2022 only made that more likely. More sources have since confirmed Swift’s possible cameo in the movie, and fans can’t wait to know whether Taylor Swift will play Dazzler in ‘Deadpool 3.’
Rumors of Taylor Swift making her debut on Deadpool started in 2022 when Ryan Reynolds told Et that it was a possibility. On 12th August 2023, Disinsider confirmed these rumors when they named Taylor Swift on their list of unconfirmed debutants in the upcoming ‘Deadpool 3’. Marvel has, however remained tight-lipped on the cast list.

Emma Corrin is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Deadpool 3. Exactly who they will be playing in the sequel is being kept under wraps, but it’s expected that Corrin is playing the villain, something they’re never done before.
“I feel really excited to play a villain,” Emma Corrin told Empire before the SAG strike. She was speaking to them promoting her new series A Murder at the End of the World, and hasn’t actually begun shooting the now-shut down (for the duration of the strike) movie. “I haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch.” When you’re dealing with Marvel, you get used to absolute secrecy from day one, and Corrin recalled that they didn’t even know why they had been called to meet with Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy. “I’d heard about the project but,...

You might want to put your chimichangas in the freezer because it will be a while before we’re eating them in celebration of the arrival of Deadpool 3. Unfortunately, the Marvel threequel is the latest tentpole project to fall victim to the SAG-AFTRA strike. News about the project’s hibernation comes after Ryan Reynolds shared a photo of himself and Hugh Jackman in full costume for the upcoming superhero buddy-action comedy. Fans can expect delays for the project until negotiations between the WGA, SAG-AFTRA, and AMPTP resolve.
The upcoming Deadpool sequel will see the return of Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Rob Delaney as Peter. Deadpool 3 will also star Emma Corrin, who is expected to play the villain, and Matthew Macfadyen in an undisclosed role.

Los Angeles, July 8 (Ians) After a break of 20 years, actress Jennifer Garner is making her return to the world of Marvel, as she will reprise her role as the Marvel anti-hero Elektra in ‘Deadpool 3’.
The actress first made her appearance as Elektra Natchios in the 2003 Ben Affleck starrer ‘Daredevil’ following which she starred in a spin-off solo movie ‘Elektra’ in 2005.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, her involvement in ‘Deadpool 3’ hints at some sort of multiverse angle to the film that has long been rumored, and it is possible that other characters from Marvel films made by Fox could pop up. But this being ‘Deadpool’, one can’t rule out some meta, self-awareness either.
‘Deadpool 3’ will also mark Garner’s reunion with the ‘Deadpool’ star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, who all previously worked together on the sci-fi film ‘The Adam Project’.

Jennifer Garner is coming back in the sai-swinging role of antihero assassin Elektra in 20th Century Studios/Marvel/Disney’s Deadpool 3.
She first played the role in 2003’s Daredevil which starred her former husband Ben Affleck, that 20th/Marvel movie grossing $102M stateside, $179M WW.
Garner would play Elektra in her own spinoff movie, but it tanked with $24M domestic, $57M WW.
Deadpool 3 reteams Garner with Deadpool 3 star Ryan Reynolds and its director Shawn Levy, both whom she worked with on the latter’s Netflix movie, The Adam Project.
As previously reported, Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine. Given the old club of 20th/Marvel characters boarding this movie, sources believe there’s a multiverse element to Deadpool 3.
The movie will kick off next summer on May 3, 2024.
Combined both Deadpool movies have grossed $1.56 billion.

Here’s some shocking news for our Friday afternoon: THR has reported that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role of Elektra for Deadpool 3. Yep, let that soak in.
Jennifer Garner first played Elektra alongside Ben Affleck in Daredevil. The character proved popular enough to receive her very own spin-off, which was unfortunately trashed by critics and grossed just $57 million worldwide. That might have been the last we saw of Jennifer Garner as Elektra… but Deadpool obviously has other plans. THR’s Borys Kit described Jennifer Garner’s role in Deadpool 3 as a “cameo-like appearance” on Twitter.
It remains to be seen precisely how Elektra will factor into Deadpool 3, but her involvement could hint at a multiverse story. I imagine that fans may now be wondering whether Ben Affleck could be persuaded to suit up as Daredevil; As this is Deadpool we’re talking about, I suppose anything could happen.

Deadpool 3 will feature the return of a number of actors from the previous movies, but Zazie Beetz won’t be one of them.
While speaking with Decider at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her limited-series Full Circle, Zazie Beetz was asked if the ongoing WGA strike was affecting Ryan Reynolds’ ability to improvise on the Deadpool 3 set. “Well I’m actually not in Deadpool 3, so I don’t know what they’re doing [about improvisation],” Beetz said. “I’m assuming they’re probably taking a pause. […] I’m excited to watch it.” Beetz played Domino in Deadpool 2, a mutant mercenary with the ability to manipulate luck.
Related Disney shuffles release schedule: Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, Alien, and more!
While the WGA strike has prompted many movies and TV shows to hit pause while a deal between screenwriters and the studios can be worked out, Deadpool 3 is apparently still trucking ahead.

There are two gimmicks at work in the two "Deadpool" movies, released in 2016 and 2018 respectively. The first is that Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) seems to recognize that he's in a superhero movie, and makes numerous metatextual gags about the shortcomings of the genre. In "Deadpool 2," the character comments that, if his plan goes well, the movie itself won't require a third act. He also goes back in time to the events of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and kills an alternate-timeline version of himself, fulfilling the bloodlust of fans who hated that version of the character.
The other gimmick is Reynolds himself, a wry, fast-talking comedic actor who delivers flip dialogue and irreverent humor better than anyone. Reynolds also seemed to oversee the films' ad campaigns, and he would appear in character, talking about how he, Deadpool, was now a movie star. All this while his face was completely covered by a superhero mask.

They say that opposites attract, and there's no greater proof than the enviably-named Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and her bubbly girlfriend Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna). Negasonic debuted her explosive powers in the first "Deadpool" movie, and she was joined in the 2018 sequel by Yukio, who had previously been played by Rila Fukushima in "The Wolverine," but has since undergone a complete makeover of her look, personality, powers, and, well, pretty much everything except her name. Blame the timeline.
Speaking of messed-up timelines, Deadpool's place in the space-time continuum is about to get even more funky as he transitions into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for "Deadpool 3." But at least he won't be alone; Deadline reports that both Hildebrand and Kutsuna have now closed deals to return in "Deadpool 3," which will be directed by Shawn Levy. At least we can rest assured that there'll be someone in the room to say "Hi,...

“Deadpool 3” just added two key returning cast members to its roster, according to sources close to the project. Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will reprise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio, joining Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool’s love interest who was fridged and then un-fridged during “Deadpool 2”) in the Shawn Levy-directed sequel.
Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine, joining franchise newbies Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. Also returning from earlier films will be Karan Soni (Wade Wilson’s preferred cab driver), Leslie Uggams (Wade’s blind roommate), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus) and Rob Delaney (as entirely human X-Force member Peter who was also un-killed at the end of “Deadpool 2”).
The picture, slated for release on November 8, 2024, will be the first in the franchise to be put out by Disney and be produced by Kevin Fiege’s Marvel Studios. While it is expected to keep the...

Shinya Tsukamoto has always been, to many, a man hidden behind the scenes. When thinking of experimentation within the Japanese pulp titles from the 90s and 2000s, it is likely that a figure such as Takashi Miike or Kinji Fukusaku would come to mind for the average viewer, and Shinya Tsukamoto might simply be referred to as “the guy who made Tetsuo: The Iron Man.” Yet as time goes on, Tsukamoto is slowly becoming more respected and recognized as a pioneer in the 90s and 2000s Japanese experimental pulp genre: A title which he certainly deserves. And so, now feels like a more-than-appropriate time to take a look at Tsukamoto's most thought-inspiring (yet highly-overlooked) masterpieces. This list will look at Tsukamoto's various overlooked contributions to the Japanese avant-garde film industry, from the beginning of his career to the current moment.

Who can forget Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” that cheeky work of early-18th-century satire in which the author had the nerve to suggest cannibalism as a means of keeping Ireland’s unwanted kids “from being a burden on their parents or country, and for making them beneficial to the publick”? In “Plan 75,” debuting director Chie Hayakawa floats an equally extreme idea of her own without so much as a glimmer of irony, and the suggestion is upsetting enough that the public will likely still be citing it decades down the road. Set in near-future Japan, where it’s a surplus of seniors — versus an abundance of babies — that’s causing trouble, this chilling social drama takes its name from a hypothetical new legislation whereby an overtaxed government offers its elderly citizens an incentive to euthanize.

Ryan Reynolds has become quite the social media influencer, producing countless videos to promote Aviation Gin, Wrexham Football Club and now… Deadpool 3! It came as quite a surprise for fans who had expected to see something about the Merc with a Mouth at D23, but Reynolds decided to break the big news through yet another comedy clip instead, which was surely overseen by the upcoming Marvel movie’s director, Shawn Levy.
While the video might have teased the fact that Deadpool will definitely be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe in its third instalment, it also set the record straight that Hugh Jackman will be returning to portray Wolverine, one last time. It’s a monumental announcement that could have major repercussions for the future of the franchise, but it also offers up plenty of questions and opportunities for Mutants and the Fox X-Men movies of the past.

What is the cost of living?
This question is at the core of "Plan 75," the debut film of Japanese director Chie Hayakawa. The soft-spoken drama imagines a near-future dystopia where Japan's super-aged society has strained the economy to a breaking point. Hayakawa is tapping into very real fears — and not ones limited to just Japan. Here in North America, the last decade has seen rising anxiety over a "silver tsunami" from the baby boomer generation leaving the workforce, requiring health care, and drawing pensions.
"Plan 75" unfurls like an extended thought experiment: What if, to deal with the "burden" of the elderly generation, the government developed a program to eliminate people over the age of 75? One that entices volunteers through messaging about "duty" and a substantial financial reward? This would, theoretically, allow citizens to choose their deaths — getting "control" over the inevitable, as one commercial puts it — in order...
