This year has, unfortunately, been filled with a slew of heartbreaking celebrity deaths. In October, "Friends" fans were shocked by the sudden death of Matthew Perry at age 54. Actors Richard Roundtree, Suzanne Somers, and Piper Laurie also died, as did musician Rudolph Isley.
In September, "Harry Potter" star Michael Gambon, "NCIS" actor David McCallum, musicians Steve Harwell and Jimmy Buffett, and 702 singer Irish Grinstead all died. In August, actor Arleen Sorkin, "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker, "This Is Us" actor Ron Cephas Jones, and musician DJ Casper, the man behind the 1998 party hit "Cha Cha Slide," died as well. The month before, we lost actors Angus Cloud and Paul Reubens, famed singers Tony Bennett, Sinéad O'Connor, and Jane Birkin, and musician Coco Lee. News of their deaths followed that of beloved actor Alan Arkin, who died on June 30. Also in June, reality star Anna Shay and "Everwood" actor Treat Williams died,...

It’s been exactly one year since the final season of “Bling Empire” premiered, and reality TV veteran Jeff Jenkins, who has executive produced shows ranging from “The Simple Life” to “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” looks back at the Netflix series about affluent Asian Americans as one of his most personal and proudest projects.
“More than any other show I’ve ever produced in my 25 year career is closest to my heart,” Jenkins told TheWrap. “My niece and nephew were adopted as infants from China and South Korea, respectively. They’re teenagers now, but when they were coming up, there was almost no one like them on television on a regular basis, scripted or unscripted.”
“When ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ came out [in 2018] and was a smash hit, I determined this is the moment. This is the moment! I thought, ‘Okay, who are the wealthiest Asians in Los Angeles?’ And luckily,...

"Bling Empire" season three isn't short on fun cameos, from Mila Kunis to Lewis Tan to Chrishell Stause. But one person viewers weren't expecting to see? Kelly Mi Li's ex-boyfriend Andrew Gray.
In episode one of season three, Gray takes everyone by surprise when he shows up to Guy Tang and Almar Guevarra's sixth anniversary party after Anna Shay suggests it's a good idea. Unfortunately, it ends up being the complete opposite. "In a million years, none of us thought he would show up and that especially Anna would bring him . . . I don't know what happened," Mi Li tells Popsugar.
"We were all shocked," Kane Lim adds. "When Andrew showed up, we're like, 'Are you trying to kill Kelly right now?' Like, she's been through so much therapy . . . I saw her face and I was like, 'You want to bring her back to square one again?'...

The trailer, released on Sept. 21, features Kelly Mi Li jumping back into the dating scene, a heated conversation between Christine Chiu and Jaime Xie, and an explosive moment for Kevin Kreider and Kim Lee, during which she tells him, "You're not my type." But perhaps the most unexpected part is when Kelly's ex Andrew Gray shows up to a party that everyone, including Li, is attending.
"There's so many unpredictable moments," Li tells Popsugar of season three. "Fans are for sure going to be on the edge of their seats throughout the full season." Without giving too much away, Chiu teases, "I think fans will love and be most excited to see Kevin in couture in Paris - shirtless, of course, but nonetheless in couture and diamonds. That...

"Bling Empire" somehow managed to outdo itself with an even messier second season. From Anna Shay and Christine Chiu's ongoing feud to Chèrie Chan and Jessey Lee's shocking exit, just about everyone had their fair share of drama this season, including newcomer Dorothy Wang.
The TV personality and entrepreneur - who previously starred on E!'s "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills" from 2014 to 2016 - decided to join the Netflix series after seeing all the comments from people telling her she should be on it. "When the first season came out, there was a lot of feedback. Everyone said, 'Why isn't Dorothy on 'Bling Empire?' and not that I was convinced by everyone, but I'm a people pleaser," Wang tells Popsugar. "Everyone just wanted to see me appear on it, and it didn't seem like it was the worst thing to do."

The cast of "Bling Empire" have a lot to say about Chèrie Chan and Jessey Lee's abrupt exit from the show. The Netflix reality TV series returned for season two on May 13 with Chan and Lee both largely absent from it. In an Entertainment Tonight interview, cast members Christine Chiu, Kim Lee, Kane Lim, Jaime Xie, Kevin Kreider, Kelly Mi Li, and Anna Shay shared their thoughts about the couple quitting the show.
"When they left the show, I was really disappointed because I really was wanting them to tell their story and to complete their story," Chiu said, adding that she understands as a mother why Chan decided to leave. "I have to respect her decision, which I am assuming was in the best interest of her family."

Two big things have happened within the world of "Bling Empire" since the show first premiered in January 2021: Netflix renewed the show for season two, and resident couple Kelly Mi Li and Andrew Gray have called it quits after five and a half years of dating. On their separate Instagram accounts, the couple announced their official breakup on March 9. The couple was a controversial part of the Netflix reality TV show. For every inimitable moment with the iconic Anna Shay, there was an uncomfortable scene with the on-again, off-again Mi Li and Gray. While many viewers called out their relationship as toxic and abusive, it appeared the couple was still together by the end of the first season.

Netflix’s hit series “Bling Empire” is back for Season 2 with more drama, more hook-ups, and yes, somehow even more diamonds. Season 2 premieres May 13. Check out the trailer below.
The Los Angeles-based Asian and Asian American friend group weighs in on male model Kevin Kreider and singer Kim Lee’s budding romance, while Kane Lim and Kevin’s ride-or-die friendship may have hit the brakes.
Kane slams Kevin as being nothing but a “man whore” in the trailer. Plus, fan-favorite Anna Shay slings some real talk to rival Beverly Hills queen Christine Chiu, which the official series description dubs “a new twist on the art of social warfare.” Cherie Chan also finally ties the knot with Jessey Lee.
“Money so un-impresses me,” Anna sighs in the teaser.
“Bling Empire” also welcomes two new cast members: former “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” star Dorothy Wang and businesswoman Mimi Morris.

When Netflix’s Bling Empire — best described as a real-life version of Crazy Rich Asians — first hit airwaves in January, the reality series became an instant hit and likely future cult classic. Much of that success is due to runaway fan favorite Anna Shay, the enigmatic cast member who stole every scene with her dry wit and deadpan delivery. Shay will return for the upcoming Bling Empire season two, but not coming along for the ride is the show’s other breakout star — the billionaire heiress and socialite’s century-old Sunset Boulevard mansion. That’s because the property has just sold for $13.9 million after being initially listed with a $16 million ask last year.
Per records, the discount buyer is Daniel Bohbot, a Moroccan-born fashion designer and longtime Beverly Hills resident. Bohbot, 52, also owns a second 90210 house elsewhere on Sunset Boulevard, this one a boxy, decidedly contemporary affair that’s as...

Jeff Jenkins has worked on reality series The Simple Life, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and most recently, Netflix’s Bling Empire.
Deadline can reveal that Jenkins is also working with pop star Paula Abdul, former Trump advisor Anthony Scaramucci and Jocelyn Wildenstein, the socialite known for her extensive, catlike cosmetic surgery, as he looks to take advantage of the latest boom in the world of reality docusoaps.
“I like to work with the unique folks out there. They’re harder and harder to find in our homogenized world and it is definitely becoming harder and harder to find fresh, unique, on-camera talent who the viewer is compelled to watch,” he told Deadline.
His latest project, Bling Empire, launched in January 2021 and he says it has become one of Netflix’s most-watched unscripted docuseries to date, numbers that encouraged the streamer to renew it for a second season.

Diamonds and drama. That's what Netflix's Bling Empire delivered when it was released back in January—and we couldn't be more pleased. For those unfamiliar with the show, Bling Empire follows a wealthy group of Asian and Asian American friends in Los Angeles as they shop, fight and live their best lives. The show, which stars Kevin Kreider, Kim Lee, Kelly Mi Li, Anna Shay, Christine Chiu, Kane Lim, Jamie Xie and Cherie Chan, has been devoured by viewers. In fact, Bling Empire even made Netflix's top 10 list at one point. However, having binged the Netflix hit so quickly, we were left eager for a new show to consume. While Bling Empire is wildly entertaining, it isn't the first...

"We all need a little escapism during this time," Christine added, further dismissing her and Anna's constant back-and-forth as a "silly...

The just-released video covered a variety of topics, including an update on Kelly and Andrew's on-again, off-again relationship. Fans of the show have criticized the couple's relationship as toxic due to the troubling fights documented. As breakout star Anna Shay put it best, "There ain't no dick that good."
