Philip Calisto

Philip Domenico Calisto was born in Lodi, Italy, in 1998. At an early age he moved to Berlin and graduated from the Georg Friedrich Händel music grammar school in 2016. He learned piano, electric bass and drums and plays in a progressive reggae band with influences of Balkan music, jazz and hip hop. They won a few band contests, got third place at "Germanys best newcomer band 2014" and played a concert in front of 10.000 people at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
Furthermore he has performed as a member of the Georg Friedrich Händel children's choir already four times in the Berlin Philharmonie with the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle. After graduating from school he did a free social year with the organization "musicians without borders" on the Galapagos Islands and applied afterwards for the diploma course filmscoring and production at the Musicube Academy and passed in 2018.
He composed music for image films, short films, he wrote Jingle music and worked with professional artists from all art directions like dance or visual arts.
He studied "composition for film and theatre" at the ArtEZ (Institue of the Arts) in the Netherlands.
His musical preferences focus in the fields of hip hop, classical music, reggae, film music, techno.
