Charlie Courtauld was a British television producer, born in Colchester, Essex on June 6, 1966, a member of the wealthy textile business family. Educated at Eton and at Bristol University, where he read Politics and Philosophy, Charlie began as a runner on Channel 4's 'A Week in Politics', where his imaginative presentation gained him notice and promotion. In 1996 he moved to the BBC as producer of 'Newsnight' and later of 'Question Time. He was also a newspaper journalist and worked for five years as a columnist on the Independent on Sunday.' Married to Lucy in 1994 and the father of a son and two daughters Charlie Courtauld died of multiple sclerosis on January 26th 2016.
