- Was named as "One of 10 Directors to Watch" by Variety Magazine in 2004.
- Worked for The Movie Network in Toronto, creating Award Winning Promos and Trailers.
- His uncle owned a movie theatre called "Hafnarbíó" (The Harbour Cinema) in downtown Reykjavik which was basically a World War II army barrack built from corrugated iron. Both his grandfather and mother worked at The Harbour Cinema and it was there, at the age of 6, that he decided to become a filmmaker. The film that so greatly influenced him was the Japanese animated movie, Alakazam the Great.
