Phil Spector allegedly lost some of his teeth after being involved in a brawl in jail. The legendary music producer - who was jailed last June for 19 years for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson - has reportedly been in a number of fights since he got to jail, and had some of his teeth knocked out in one brawl. Spector's friend Steven Escobar, said: "Phil has quite a mouth on him. Not everyone understands his humour. He said the wrong thing to the wrong inmate in the yard. "He mouthed off to a big guy, who punched him. At first, Phil said he fell down a flight of stairs. Later, he told family and friends what really happened."...

Phil Spector may be finding out that prison life is different from Hollywood life. Well, in some ways.
According to the New York Daily News, the convicted murderer and music industry legend got a few teeth caps knocked out, a black eye and a bruised nose in an altercation with an inmate.
"Phil has quite a mouth on him," says his pal and defender Steven Escobar. "Not everyone understands his humor. He said the wrong thing to the wrong inmate in the yard."
Spector, who's serving 19 years-to-life for the 2003 death of actress Lana Clarkson by shooting her in the mouth, initially said he fell down some stairs. Later, he told friends the truth.
A spokesman for Spector's wife, Rachel, initially confirmed the incident, adding, "There are still safety concerns. We don't want the people who put him in this position to retaliate."
But then Rachel denied it. "Phil was not assaulted.

California authorities are baffled by reports Phil Spector fears for his life in the state's notorious Corcoran Prison - insisting the music mogul is in a completely different correctional facility.
Spector is four months into a life sentence handed down for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.
In recent letters to his friend, musician/journalist Steve Escobar, Spector claimed he was terrified of cellmates including cult leader Charles Manson and Bobby Kennedy's assassin Sirhan Sirhan.
He described the prison as a "snake pit", adding, "Imagine sending me to the same prison - shows how low they can go. They'd kill you in here for a 39-cent bag of soup! I know it is a chance to get out of my cell going to the dining room but the less I see of the inmates, the better and safer I feel. Even though 24/7 lockdown in a 3' by 7' cell is very tough."
The claims have been described as "ridiculous" by prison spokeswoman Terry Thornton, who reveals Spector is actually serving time at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, two miles from Corcoran.
Thornton tells the New York Post, "He isn't even in the same prison. If he has fears for his safety, he needs to tell prison administrators."...

The legendary music producer - who is serving a life sentence for murdering actress Lana Clarkson - has written a series of rambling letters to his friend Steve Escobar, complaining about being locked up with "crazed killers". The 69-year-old star wrote: "Imagine sending me to the same prison - shows how low they can go. I should be in a better prison with people more like myself in it instead of all these lowlife scumbags, gangsters and Manson types. They would kill you in here for a 39 cent bag of soup!" Music legend-cum-murderer Phil Spector is whining about being locked up in a "snake pit" of a prison with such other high-profile killer nutjobs as Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan -- but California corrections officials say Spector is full of beans.
