The Conservative Political Action Conference is taking place this week at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Cpac is the year’s most biggest gathering of conservative thought leaders, serving as a kind of Coachella for misinformation, bigotry, religious zealotry, and veneration of a twice-impeached president who lost the 2020 election. The 2023 edition will feature speeches from likes of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Donald Trump, and others, although big names like Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy are skipping the conference,...

After tallying up all the blood and gore in director Quentin Tarantino's new film, a conservative watchdog group is telling its audience that it really hates The Hateful Eight, and that they will, too. "It's Ten Little Indians for sociopaths and sadists. A snuff film with big-name stars," says Dan Gainor, vp of business and culture for the Media Research Center, an nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by frequent Fox News guest Brent Bozell. According to the Mrc, The Hateful Eight contains "49 acts of brutal violence — shootings, stabbings, a hanging, torture, forced gay oral sex and several

Joe Scarborough is a gun control advocate who considers himself the sane type of conservative — a point he makes clear on a nearly daily basis. Last night, Fox News host Sean Hannity, alongside guest Brent Bozell, spent a segment criticizing Scarborough for both his gun stance and self-professed conservatism. This morning, Scarborough acknowledged the critics in a rather characteristic way.

Joe Scarborough may co-host a morning show on MSNBC, but make no mistake, he still considers himself a Republican. But other conservatives aren't buying it, and tonight Sean Hannity tore into Scarborough for still trying to paint himself as still some big conservative who just has a lot of issues with the current incarnation of the Gop. Brent Bozell agreed, telling Scarborough he should stop calling himself a conservative.

U.S. lawmakers might be eyeing more gun-control laws in the wake of several mass shootings, including one that took the lives of 26 women and children at an elementary school in Connecticut, but conservative groups have their sights set on laying some of the blame on the movie industry. One such organization, the Culture and Media Institute, launched by Parents Television Council founder Brent Bozell, sent its analysts into theaters showing the Top 5 movies over the weekend to tally the onscreen carnage and found that 185 people were killed, shot, stabbed, beaten, burned alive, blown up, etc.

As many of our readers may know, NewsBusters is the blog arm of Brent Bozell's Media Research Center, an organization dedicated to combating liberal media bias. Oftentimes they make a decent point about journalists leaking their personal biases into to their supposedly "objective" reporting; but many other times, they are just whining about someone doing something they find icky.

Well, it took them almost a month, but as predicted, religious bigwigs are preparing to square off against Comedy Central in protest of the network’s upcoming animated Jesus Christ project, Jc. According to The Hollywood Reporter, notable names like Brent Bozell, Tony Perkins, Tim Winter, and Michael Medved are forming the Citizens Against Religious Bigotry to protest Jc.

Bosses at American network Comedy Central are facing a barrage of protests over a planned TV show featuring Jesus Christ - a string of high-profile campaigners have launched a drive to stop the series from going into production.
Executives at the TV firm behind South Park are working on a new animated project, which sees Christ attempting to live a normal life in New York, desperate to escape the shadow of his "powerful but apathetic father," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The show, which is currently at the pre-production stage, has already brewed a storm of criticism, and now the heads of groups including America's Family Research Council, the Catholic League and the Parents Television Council have come together to form a coalition to protest the plans.
The new group, the Coalition Against Religious Bigotry (Carb), is already urging advertisers to boycott the planned series.
Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center and member of Carb, says in a statement, "After we reveal the vile and offensive nature of Comedy Central's previous characterisations of Jesus Christ and God the Father, we expect these advertisers to agree wholeheartedly to end their advertising on Comedy Central and discontinue their support for unabashed, anti-Christian discrimination."
The makers of South Park recently courted controversy over their portrayal of Islamic prophet Mohammed in the cartoon comedy, which sparked protests from Muslim groups, and have been previously criticised for including a Jesus character in the show.

A coalition has been formed to fight against an animated series called "Jc" which is yet to be produced. Comedy Central has previously met a threat from Christian group Catholic League who said that they would contact the Muslim organizations as well in this fight. There is a trend emerging that seems to indicate a strategic shift at CNN from self-professed neutral, objective journalism to a desire to actively court conservative viewers. First, there was CNN's hiring of Redstate chief Erick Erickson , embedded (and wide-eyed) coverage of the Tea Party Express bus tour, email shot at "the left" to Brent Bozell, and now, their attack on liberal radio host Bill Press for his question to Robert Gibbs about their employee's threat to census workers. CNN is very concerned about fact-checking Press. Fair enough. I will fact-check Press and CNN, and give you the latest reaction from CNN on Erickson's comments.

WASHINGTON -- Hollywood nemesis L. Brent Bozell, who as president and founder of the Parents Television Council helped make stamping out TV smut a national cause, is stepping down. After more than a decade as the head of an organization which rallied people to file an unprecedented number of indecency complaints with the FCC, Bozell said he had had enough. "Since launching the Parents Television Council in 1995, I've given everything I had to this organization, and in our short, 11-year history, we've accomplished more than anyone thought possible," he said. "The PTC has built the largest research operation in history, the basis of all our work documenting the degree to which Hollywood is polluting the culture."...
Shows aimed at children contain more violence than programming aimed at adults, according to a study unveiled Thursday by a group critical of televised indecency. "Violence is ubiquitous, often sinister and in many cases frighteningly realistic," said L. Brent Bozell III, the founder and president of Parents Television Council, at a Washington news conference. "Children's television is no safe haven for children, and parents must be extremely vigilant." Children's programming contained an average of 6.3 instances of violence per hour, compared with 4.71 such incidents during prime-time programming, reports the Parents Television Council. The membership group said such figures excluded instances of what it called "cartoony" violence -- for example, when an anvil falls on Wile E. Coyote during a Looney Tunes cartoon. The Parents Television Council said it had examined 443.5 hours of children's programming aired during afternoons and Saturday mornings over three weeks in summer 2005. Cable and broadcast networks tracked included ABC, Fox, NBC, the WB, ABC Family, Cartoon Network, the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.
Watchdog group Parents Television Council issued a report Tuesday blasting MTV for aiming oversexed programming at young viewers. The PTC found fault with the teen-targeted cable network based on an examination of 171 hours of programming that aired the week of March 20 last year, during its annual "Spring Break" celebration. The analysis spotted 13 sexual scenes per hour in MTV's reality series, as well as 32 instance of foul language per hour in its music videos. "There's no question that TV influences the attitudes and perceptions of young viewers, and MTV is deliberately marketing its raunch to millions of innocent children," PTC president L. Brent Bozell said.
The Parents Television Council, the watchdog group known for its fierce criticism of the broadcast networks, is expanding its purview to the film world, but this time the nonprofit group headed by conservative pundit L. Brent Bozell is taking a much more conciliatory approach. To further its mission of getting Hollywood to produce more family-friendly fare, the PTC has started issuing seals of approval for theatrical releases it sanctions while working with studios to hold grass-roots screenings and promote the films it endorses to its 860,000 members in a variety of other ways. And unlike many of the television networks -- which view the PTC with suspicion if not outright scorn -- some of the movie studios have welcomed its endorsements as another potential marketing tool that could help them reach family audiences. "When marketing a family film, it is always helpful to have the support of an organization such as the Parents Television Council," said a spokeswoman for New Line Cinema, which used the PTC seal in advertisements for 2003's "Secondhand Lions". "The seal of approval helps audiences identify family-friendly product and also lends credibility to a film targeted to that audience."...

Talk about timing. Executives, producers and sundry others who work for News Corp. and 20th Century Fox gathered on the Fox lot Thursday afternoon for a seminar on the content of television and films and where the line should be drawn on sex, violence and salty language. Sources said that plans for the gathering, spearheaded by News Corp. president Peter Chernin, had been in the works for several months and thus it was only an ironic coincidence that the group-think session took place only a few days after Janet Jackson ignited a national debate about broadcast indecency with her breast-baring moment during the Super Bowl halftime show. Reps for Fox declined comment, but sources said the five-hour meeting included a keynote speech from FCC commissioner Kathleen Abernathy and a panel session with McG, Martha Williamson and Barbara Hall and other writer-producers. In addition to a few hundred Fox/News Corp. staffers, notables in attendance included Fox News host Greta Van Susteren, media watchdog L. Brent Bozell and Universal Television Prods. president David Kissinger.
