Lile Judickas has over 30 years experience as an Editor for broadcast
television.
Lile began her career in Editing, as a Trainee in Production Operations at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and has since specialized in editing factual & documentary films, with an emphasis on long-form science programming, both for Australian and international broadcasters. 'Black Holes', 'Island Life: Lizard Island', 'Crude The Incredible Journey of Oil' and 'Australia The Time Traveller's Guide' (screened in 2013, in the US, on the PBS science series NOVA, as 'Australia's First 4 Billion Years') are some notable titles.
Many of these films have achieved international awards success: working with Writer / Director Richard Smith, 'Silent Sentinels', 'Perils of Plectropomus', 'Crude The Incredible Journey of Oil' and 'Australia The Time Traveller's Guide' have variously won at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival & Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival Science Media Awards and the New York Festivals; working with Director, Paul Faint, 'DNA - A Shadow of Doubt' has won gold in the New York Festivals. Also from the New York Festivals, awards specific to editing have been won for Richard Smith's "Australia the Time Traveller's Guide", "Voyage to the Seas of Mars" & "Human Sub", Paul Faint's "High Speed Impact" and Deborah Masters, "Jihad Sheilas". Recently, the medical science 'Miracle Hospital' (both the first & second series, 2016 & 2018) have screened very successfully for National Geographic channel.
Lile has been part of the Australian Screen Editors guild since its inception, helping to promote the craft of editing within the Australian film & television industry and serving as guild Treasurer for two terms. She has also presented on the craft of editing for the Australian Film Television & Radio School workshop 'Making Science & Natural History Films'.
Lile has Lithuanian ancestry, but was born & raised in Australia, where she still lives, working independently in Sydney under the company title IamAnEditor Pty. Ltd. She is 58 years old, has cut on film, linear tape and has been using AVID since the mid-1990's, FCPv7, and now Premiere Pro since 2016.
