James C. Velasquez

James C. Velasquez is a film director, producer, and digital advertising professional based out of Los Angeles, California. He writes, produces, and directs short films such as a dramatic satire, The Teleprompter (2023), and a family dramedy, Too Late To Sing? (2022), the latter of which received the award for Best Ensemble at the Scarab Film Festival, Artist Circle at The NOVA Fest, and official selections at Indie Night Film Festival and San Diego Filipino Film Festival. James also served as First Assistant Director for an indie feature film & SAG-AFTRA set, The Family (2024), and six indie short films. The indie short films include two SAG-AFTRA sets, What to Expect When You're Not Expecting (2023), where he served as both Producer and 1st AD, and Dad's Gone Wild (2022), where he served as both Associate Producer and 1st AD.
In October 2020, James launched a podcast & online talk show known as How WE Bounce Back to drive open, relatable, and meaningful conversations on life's difficult times. From 2016-2023, James worked in digital advertising and served clients such as FOX TV, FOX Sports, AT&T, World Market, Lexus, and The Cheesecake Factory. From 2013-2016, James also worked at Brand USA within the Global Marketing & Operations departments.
