Christóforos John Roussakis-Thomas was born on November 7th, 1988 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He attended both Loyalist College and Carleton University to pursue degrees in film and photojournalism, eventually dropping out of both to pursue attractive opportunities that aligned with his passions elsewhere, such as a position working for the esteemed news agency, Reuters, in Toronto.
In his youth, Roussakis was heavily influenced by his cousin, Dean Lewis, a VFX artist working under the likes of James Cameron. Roussakis considers the time spent with Lewis as formative experiences which led him to where he is today- their time spent together consisted mainly of trips to the cinema. With Lewis' guidance and encouragement, Roussakis grew to appreciate the form of film in a particularly intimate way. He discovered at this young age his natural aptitudes for exploring and expressing narrative visually, which only continue to refine themselves today.
Roussakis' intentions to pursue these passions have been ceaseless since this time and have led him to his current position as the Creative Director of his own production company, Phantom Productions (Ottawa, Canada). His directorial debut, Nagano Till Now (2023) is soon to be released for its first ever public screening at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, USA.
