Hospitality workers union Unite Here 11, which has been on strike since June 30, staged a solidarity rally in Hollywood Friday that saw hundreds of its members join up with entertainment industry workers to march from the W Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard past the famous intersection of Hollywood and Vine and on to the Netflix offices at Sunset Bronson Studios, where they were met with cheers by writers and actors on the daily picket lines.

Joe Zee helps Nicole Richie with her fashion line on the new All On The Line season.
Just listen to Joe Zee.
If that were all the struggling designers on All On The Line With Joe Zee did from the get-go, then maybe they’d get over the road blocks (professional and personal) that keep their respective businesses in a slump. However, that also would make for some pretty boring television and lucky for us the designers that seek Zee’s expertise on the Sundance Channel reality series, don’t always listen and, to be honest, watching Joe Zee lose his s**t with them is more than a little entertaining.
As the third season launches tonight, the usually unflappable (and out) Zee, who also happens to be the Creative Director at Elle Magazine since 2007, finds his head about to pop off in frustration as he works with the New York-based Unruly Heir designers,...

Want to look red carpet ready without breaking the bank? We have the perfect fashion secret for you: Rent the Runway
As the gorgeous ladies at this year’s Oscars know, finding dresses for an event can be super-stressful. That being said, celebrities usually have an entire team of stylists helping them pick out dresses, and they often don’t even have to pay for them! Rent the Runway (available at renttherunway.com) allows you to rent designer dresses for a period of 4 days (8 days if you pay an extra $160). They send you a dress in the size you request, with a free backup size if available. When you search, you can sort by size,...

Directors: Ole Schell, Sara Ziff Starring: Sara Ziff, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicole Miller Sara Ziff began modeling at age 14. She started working as a full-time model after high school at age 18. Her [now ex-] boyfriend, Ole Schell, fresh out of film school follows Ziff with a video camera tirelessly documenting her full immersion into a career as a model. (Ziff, too, is armed with a video camera.) Ziff and Schell interview other models, as well as famous photographers and designers. They probably did not have a purpose early on, but after almost five years of footage (most of which resembles a personal video diary or home movie) the purpose becomes more apparent. Ziff and Schell’s resulting film -- Picture Me -- reveals the ugly side of the modelling industry...and I do not mean ugly models. Models are some of the most recognizable figures (mind the pun) of our time, yet other...

HollywoodNews.com: Sharon Stone almost pulled a ‘Basic Instinct’ – as she nearly flashed a star-studded audience when an insect flew up her dress.
The screen star was hosting a charity auction in Southampton, New York, when the bug shot inside her white mini-dress. And she frantically tried to remove it as guests like Alec Baldwin looked on.
An onlooker revealed: “She shrieked, ‘Oh, my God, I think a bug just flew up my dress! What an awkward moment for the bug.’
“[She] started to wiggle to let the bug fly free. For some in the front row, she nearly repeated her infamous ‘Basic Instinct’ moment.”

From the movies mega stars — Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Anna Kendrick, and Dakota Fanning, to reality stars like the Kardashian clan, and even Olympic athletes the Eclipse premiere was the place to be in La last night! Most of the glam gals looked so summery in light feminine frocks — there was K. As far as men's style goes, it's hard to vary too much from the classic dark suit. But at Thursday night's (June 24) premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Robert Pattinson tried his best. The dreamboat vampire walked the black carpet in a maroon Gucci suit, while his werewolf rival Taylor Lautner played it safe in a classic black suit/ skinny tie combo.
Among the ladies, muted colors and embellishments reigned supreme. Human star Kristen Stewart chose a white, one-sleeve Elie Saab minidress with a fierce cutout back. Her bestie, Dakota Fanning, also wore Elie Saab, though the Volturi guard went much more feminine in a short, flirty, nude-colored look with lace and feather accents.
Fellow evil vampire Bryce Dallas Howard...

From the glittery blue shadow that matches her dress to the unflattering curly ‘do, Michelle Obama’s hair and makeup was a total prom-worthy mistake!
Ok, I really don’t like to hate on Michelle Obama because she normally looks fabulous and totally classy. That’s why I’m so confused as to why she would whip out such a terrible hair and makeup combo for The White House state dinner for Mexican president Felipe Calderon on May 19. I mean seriously, Michelle, what’s up with the glittery blue shadow that perfectly matches your also shimmery dress? I probably would have thought this was a great combo when I was going to my Junior Prom but not as an adult. It just looks tacky. And how about that hair?? Michelle has so many great hair looks in her repertoire I’m not sure why she would choose this over-curled,...

Don’t worry Mrs. Obama, Nicole won’t put you in a biker jacket or anything.
Designer Nicole Miller would die to dress First Lady, Michelle Obama! “I would love that project because I have done a lot of sketches,” Nicole told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the Publicolor Annual Stir, Splatter + Roll 2010 Benefit in NYC on April 5.
“I definitely like her in colors,” Nicole told us. “I would try to put her into something surprising and unexpected. I like her in kind of edgy and avant garde, but not being the fashion victim. She is the first lady so she’s not going to show up in a biker jacket.”
Sounds like Nicole is game for a very prestigious client! We love Nicole’s designs, and think that she would do a great job if ever asked to style the first lady!

Have you ever locked lips with a total hottie only to discover he’s a sucky smoocher?
Oh please say it isn’t true! Matt Lanter is so good-looking we can’t imagine he’d be a bad kisser. But his 90210 co-star, AnnaLynne McCord, is telling a different story!
“You know, he actually is a really bad kisser, so it kind of sucks,” the 22-year-old starlet said at the Hollywood Domino benefit at Bar 210 in Hollywood March 4.
What?! Say it isn’t so!
AnnaLynne, dressed in a clinging Nicole Miller gown, paused, then backtracked, “No – haha – working with Matt is a lot of fun.”
Errr….what’s the real story here? Making out with someone who can’t control his lips is literally the kiss of death!
While the jury’s still out about Matt, 26, AnnaLynne can confirm that her onscreen character, Naomi, isn’t going to have a happy ending this season.

Claire and Phil tried for a more kinky Valentine's Day this year, but what began with some role playing (Claire as Juliana and Phil as the suave-but-stupid Clive Bixby) ended with Claire stuck in the hotel escalator wearing a trench and little else. Plenty of you have been asking Style Hunter to track down Claire's string-laced jacket and we have an answer: It's the ivory leather trench by Royal Underground, a clothing line started by Nikki Sixx and fashion industry vet Kelly Gray, who met the rocker at a Mötley Crüe concert in 2006. Unfortunately, the jacket is no longer available.

Beth Ostrosky and Kelly Rutherford are double the trouble. Photograph by PatrickMcMullan.com. Gossip Girls’ Kelly Rutherford made her way to her front row seat at the Nicole Miller show yesterday, took one look at Beth Ostrosky, and they both burst out laughing. The two blondes, who were seated next to one another, were wearing the same Nicole Miller dress. “We planned this,” joked Ostrosky as the two posed for pictures in their identical ensembles. “It’s hysterical,” said Rutherford, “I just went and picked out the dress out an hour ago.” A fashion week veteran, the actress says the week-long event hasn’t lost any of its luster for her. “It is always exciting because with our work schedule, you never know what shows you are going to be able to make, so it’s really fun when you actually get to go,” said the actress, who is currently...

Sunday night's (January 31) Grammy Awards celebration didn't yield any victories for Paramore (their "Decode," from the "Twilight" soundtrack, was nominated for Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media but lost out to "Jai Ho" from "Slumdog Millionaire"). Still, if singer Hayley Williams' Twitter account is to be believed, the band (and Williams in particular) managed to enjoy themselves on music's biggest night.
"Two years later and we're back at the Grammys," Williams tweeted, referencing the fact that the band was nominated for Best New Artist in 2008. "Omgahhh. My hair is even curled, who woulda thought?"
As Jocelyn Vena noted in her red carpet live blog, Williams looked especially stunning with her hair and dress combination (Vena referred to her as "a punk rock Audrey Hepburn") and Williams considered the group's entrance a success. "Red carpet was a success," she wrote. "I didn't trip ... not even once.

How Panera is thriving by selling real food -- and a gathering space -- in suburbia
Mention Panera Bread and fans are as likely to praise the free Wi-Fi as they are to gush about the Asiago cheese bagels. And that, execs at the $2.6 billion restaurant chain say, is the point. While its competitors scale back on upscale ingredients, trim portion sizes, and create value menus, Panera is selling fresh food and warm bread at full price, and encouraging customers to linger. That recipe is succeeding.
Financially, Panera has been on a roll: The St. Louis -- based company opens a new bakery-café every five days. Sales rose 16.2% in 2008. Profits were up 33% in the first half of this year. Pnra is the best-performing major-restaurant stock of the last decade, with annualized growth of 31.5%. Former "Wild On!" host Brooke Burke has graced the catwalk in a Nicole Miller pink satin cocktail frock at the Clarisonic-sponsored Style360's Pink Dress Collection Runway Show at the New York Fashion Week Tuesday.
The 38-year-old beauty, who closed the event with a Limited Edition Clarisonic in hand, joined the breast cancer survivor models who walked down the catwalk in dresses donated by high end designers such as Giorgio Armani, Tadashi and Luca Luca.

Caught in the act: the orange tulips from the Fishermen’s Ball. Is pilfering flowers from a benefit taking the whole “I’m being a recessionista” thing one step too far? Let me set the scene. Last night at New York City’s Chelsea Piers, a smattering of well-heeled boldface types, including Kenneth Cole, John McEnroe, Martha Stewart, and Nicole Miller, gathered for the Fishermen’s Ball, which raised money for Riverkeeper, an organization that works to protect the Hudson River. Sophistication was in the air, perhaps emphasized by the ticket price, which started at $1,000 a pop. As dusk washed over the Hudson, guests mingled at a cocktail hour with free-flowing champagne, and then dispersed to tables in a festively decorated dining room. Fish was served for dinner (appropriate for the occasion) as Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other honorees gave talks, and over a delicious layered caramel-and-chocolate cake, a spry Tony Bennett took the stage,...
