Ryan Gosling may have tapped into his “Ken-ergy” for upcoming “Barbie” film, but the Oscar nominee is more focused on Mattel than Marvel.
During an interview with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz (below), Gosling shut down rumors of being linked to play MCU superhero Nova, also known as Richard Rider in the comics.
“I don’t know anything about Nova, if that’s what you’re going to ask me,” Gosling told Horowitz when asked how many comic book hero roles he’s turned down over the years.
He continued, “It doesn’t matter. I wasn’t right for it. But I would love to do it. It’s just, what’s the one? I was waiting for the Captain Canada call.”
The “Gray Man” actor is currently eying a Netflix franchise based on Mark Greaney’s nine-novel series, with writer/directors Joe and Anthony Russo hoping to build out the spy caper character franchise.

New York, Dec 22 (Ians) The 2020-21 NBA season will begin with a blockbuster opening-night doubleheader with the Golden State Warriors visiting the Brooklyn Nets and defending champions Los Angeles Lakers taking on the intracity rival LA Clippers.
The opening night on Tuesday will see NBA MVPs Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and LeBron James and two-time NBA Finals Mvp Kawhi Leonard in action. It will also mark the return of Curry, Durant and Kyrie Irving as the trio look primed to put on a spectacle on Day 1.
Durant's first game in 18 months (excluding the preseason) -- and first as a Net -- comes against the team with whom he won two NBA championships and two NBA Finals Mvp awards.
"Every drill that I've done, I've been going as hard as I could. I've been in the league for 14 years. Even if I didn't have an Achilles', I probably wouldn't be 100 per cent.

Exclusive: With the Champions League staging a condensed tournament with March Madness-like potential, one of the soccer league’s key media partners is tapping a big basketball name to promote tournament coverage.
Dazn, which has exclusive rights to the league in Canada, decided to embrace the unique trifecta of basketball, Canada and soccer-loving roots in former NBA Mvp Steve Nash. He lives in California, and teamed with Holden there to film five two-to-five-minute recreations of famous moments from the Champions League’s history.
The vignettes put a new spin on moments involving stars like Sergio Ramos, Ronaldo, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Alphonso Davies. Released initially on social media, they are designed to drive subscriptions and tune-in for Canadian viewers, much as Dazn did with programming produced by LeBron James and Sylvester Stallone ahead of high-profile boxing matches.
The initiative also has an inside industry twist, given that Nash and Holden...
