Grasa, the second album by 29-year-old Argentine singer and rapper Nathy Peluso, kicks off with “Corleone,” a sumptuous, old-fashioned bolero. A snippet of John Barry’s dreamy 007 theme “From Russia With Love” morphs into the kind of feverish groove that would have made La Lupe proud. “This ambition is killing me,” sings Peluso, her booming voice in full bloom.
“Corleone” is a somewhat disorienting opening track. Like most of Peluso’s music, it’s both edgy and comfortingly familiar; honest to the core, but with a thin layer of irony underneath.

Coachella 2024 was the year of the A-list guests. Across all three days, top stars made appearances either onstage or in the crowd to support their musician besties. Olivia Rodrigo joined No Doubt, Will Smith pulled up for J Balvin, Justin Bieber sang with Tems, Billie Eilish threw a last-minute party at the DoLab stage, and Shakira even announced a world tour during Bizarrap’s set.
The talk among some festivalgoers ahead of Coachella suggested that this year’s lineup might underwhelm, but the number of stars joining their friends onstage surely helped with that.

Reneé Rapp debuted at Coachella on Sunday afternoon and was joined by Kesha on the stage.
Kesha performed her song “Tik Tok” and made a slight change to the lyrics.
Instead of singing, “Wake up in the morning feelin’ like P. Diddy,” Kesha and Rapp sang, “Wake up in the morning like F*** P. Diddy.”
The change in the lyric comes as Sean Combs faces sexual assault allegations and is accused of sex trafficking.
Rapp took the stage at the Outdoor Theatre at the Music and Arts festival, where she had kind words to say about Kesha.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this, I think, is the hottest person on the earth. Everybody put your fucking hands together for Kesha,” Rapp said, introducing her colleague.

Coachella 2024 kicked off Friday, and festival season is officially upon us once again.

When life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade - and that's exactly what Shakira did after heartbreak. When the Colombian pop star learned in 2022 that Gerard Piqué, her partner of 11 years and the father of her two sons, was cheating on her, I'm sure it felt as if her life was falling apart. But when she couldn't bear the pain and the betrayal, she did what most musicians do - she turned it into art.
The first song Shakira released that was directly related to the breakup was 2022's "Te Felicito" with Puerto Rican Latin trap artist Rauw Alejandro. The song not only marked Shakira's comeback, it was also the first in a string of singles that would display her healing journey to the world and eventually become part of her latest highly anticipated album, "Las Mujeres Ya no Lloran," which was released on March 22.

Despite taking a civil tone in a press release issued that summer, she came firing back in 2023 with a tabloid-ready diss track, detailing their breakup (and Piqué’s infidelity) in excruciating detail: the electro-pop atomic bomb “Bzrp Music Sessions #53,”recorded...

The Latin music industry has seen massive growth over the last year. In 2022, revenue for these genres exceeded $1 billion for the first time, and it’s continued outpacing other parts of the industry. Taylor Swift is celebrating her newfound status as Spotify’s Global Top Artist with a surprise of her own: The massively popular singer-songwriter has just officially released the previously hard-to-find fan favorite song “You’re Losing Me.”
The song, now widely available on streaming services, is the latest of Swift’s “from the vault” releases – tracks that didn’t make her official studio albums. “You’re Losing Me,” which Swift co-wrote with producer Jack Antonoff, was initially released last May only on the “Late Night Edition” CD of Swift’s 2022 album Midnights and in a digital version exclusively at her web store.
This morning, Swift posted on X/Twitter, “Um ok this is unreal?? I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you. Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me.

There was plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Latin Grammys this year. For the first time, the award show was planned in Sevilla, Spain, a cross-continental move that sparked plenty of debate.
The European country has had a complicated place with the awards show, and prior to the ceremony, fans pointed out it’s not part of Latin America — though the Latin Grammys have always considered all music, as long as it’s 51 percent in Spanish. Still, others worried that hosting the show across the world would cause logistical issues for...

Colombian singer Shakira is often referred to as the Queen of Latin Music. She's credited as the pioneer who extended the global reach of Latin music singers. Since her breakup with ex Gerald Piqué in June 2022, Shakira has become an ever-stronger artist, releasing several hits, including "Monotonía" and her history-making diss track "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53." Shakira has also received a number of accolades and is nominated for several Latin Grammy Awards this year.
