London, June 7 (Ians) India captain Rohit Sharma has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Australia in the 2023 World Test Championship final at The Oval here on Wednesday.
Both captains Rohit and Pat Cummins will be playing their 50th Test match through the Wtc final. The winner of the 2023 Wtc final will become the first team to win all Icc titles in men’s international cricket.
After winning the toss, Rohit said India have picked Ravindra Jadeja as sole spin option ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin, while going with four fast bowlers in Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Shardul Thakur.
Ajinkya Rahane also returns to the Test team after last playing in the format in January 2022, with Ks Bharat being the wicketkeeper-batter. “The conditions and also the weather being overcast (led to bowling first). The pitch won’t change too much.”

London, June 6 (Ians) The Rohit Sharm-led India will be desperate to break their barren run in Icc events and win the coveted ‘mace’ when they face Pat Cummins’ formidable Australia in the much-awaited World Test Championship (Wtc) final at the Kennington Oval, here on Wednesday.
Undoubtedly, India’s team has been the most consistent one over the past two Wtc cycles. They have also managed to reach knockout phases of major white-ball tournaments over the last 10 years but a trophy has eluded them. On the other hand, Australia will be looking to add to their enviable collection of world titles after missing a spot in the Wtc final last cycle.
As far as the competition between the two sides is concerned, India have dominated Australia in the recent past. They have won their last four Test series against Australia — two at home and two away — all by 2-1 margins.

‘I was there; I was in that picture, fighting the Cyclops on the beach, running from the dragon! I was enthralled. It's one of my strongest childhood memories.’ It’s very hard to argue with director John Landis’s vivid account of his earliest memories and the fantasy films of Ray Harryhausen and producer Charles H. Indicator has (for the first time in the UK) combined the three Sinbad adventures in one very handsomely produced package. Artist: “Moebius,” aka Jean Giraud, aka “Gir” (1938-2012).You might expect something wilder from the fecund paired imaginations of Alejandro Jodorowsky and the artist known as Moebius. But this striking yet unusually restrained poster for El Topo (courtesy of Film/Art Gallery who provided a second, that’s-more-like-it Italian poster for the film that also made the top 20) was the most popular poster on Movie Poster of the Day over the last three months by a long stretch of desert.Collecting the posters with the most likes and reblogs yields a particularly attractive and typically diverse collection of art. There are Danish posters for French films, Polish posters for Italian films, Italian posters for Russian films and Russian posters for American films. Plenty of great artists are represented: from the Sternberg Brothers to John Alvin, from Andrzej Onegin-Dabrowski to Georges Kerfyser,...

A top aide to Donald Trump’s campaign wanted Twitter to know that U.S. Rep. Steven Smith, a “Tea Party patriot” and congressman from Georgia, was endorsing Trump. Unfortunately, Rep. Smith doesn’t actually exist. RepStevenSmith is a parody, lampooning Tea Party politicians. His bio identifies him the Republican representative for Georgia’s 15th Congressional District, but Georgia only has 14 districts. He also self-identifies as a capital-p “Partisan,” and alludes to a Harvard eduction. Columbus, Ga., newspaper Ledger-Enquirer even reported that Smith’s profile picture appeared to be lifted from Men’s Big & Tall apparel sites. Also Read: Donald Trump...

Director John Frankenheimer.
I'm often asked which, out of the over 600 interviews I've logged with Hollywood's finest, is my favorite. It's not a tough answer: John Frankenheimer.
We instantly clicked the day we met at his home in Benedict Canyon, and spent most of the afternoon talking in his den. A friendship of sorts developed over the years, with visits to his office for screenings of the old Kinescopes he directed for shows like "Playhouse 90" during his salad days in live television during the 1950s.
We hadn't spoken for nearly a year in mid-2002 when the phone rang. It was John, who spoke in what can only be described as a "stentorian bark," like a general. "Alex!" he exclaimed. "John Frankenheimer." He could sense something was amiss with me. It was. My screenwriting career had stalled. My marriage was progressing to divorce. I had hit bottom. John knew that...

Alastair Cook lifts the urn as England celebrate their 3-0 series victory over Australia.
You may have been forgiven for thinking the fifth and final Test match at The Oval would be a damp squib, after all the outcome would not affect the series following Australia’s capitulation at Durham, although England were in search of an historic and unprecedented 4-0 Ashes series win.
This was not the case however. From England’s surprise decision to hand all-rounder Chris Woakes and left arm off-spinner Simon Kerrigan their debuts, to an outstanding knock from Shane Watson, this match delivered more than what most expected.
Australia won the toss on the first day and unsurprisingly batted first, with the aforementioned Watson in super touch scoring timely runs ahead of the return series down under which commences on the 21st November.
In fact Watson – who had not hit a Test century since 2010 – batting at number three,...

During San Diego Comic-Con, MTV host Steven Smith got to explore the first console "Adventure Time" game, "Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know!" While at Sdcc, MTV host Steven Smith got a chance to get a look at a demo for October's "Lego Marvel Super Heroes," one of the most extensive looks at the upcoming Lego-ization of the Marvel Comics universe.
Watch: Sdcc 2013 - "Lego Marvel Super Heroes" Demo
"Lego Marvel Super Heroes" offers over 100 characters to play across various locations from the storied Marvel Universe. Like the cinematic and comic "Ultimate" universe, the storyline will see all of the heroes working under the auspices of S.H.I.E.L.D. to deal with global threats. That includes the combined might of the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and--hopefully--the Great Lakes Avengers, who are just the worst.

You may think rock and roll is as simple as a cool band name and a couple power chords, but the folks at CBS Local disagree. The arm of CBS dealing with local networks has released Jukebox Jury, a web series that seeks to analyze rock music by having two experts debate a specific yes-or-no question. Jukebox Jury doesn't have one particular home, but it is being featured on several local CBS stations. In the first episode, Ace Frehley biographer John Ostrosky and touring musician Doug Vannoni debate whether there should be a mandatory age at which rockers are forced to retire or stop touring. In the end, it turns out that rock and roll fans don't want rock and roll artists to be forced to stop touring. Shocker! The guest judges in the first episode were the members of Sticky Fingers, a Rolling Stones cover band who have been in the business for 35 years.

During New York Comic Con, "Pacific Rim" director Guillermo del Toro swung by MTV Geek headquarters for an update on his upcoming monsters versus robots flick. While he was in the studio, he also shed light on where things stand with two of his other most anticipated monster projects: his "Hulk" television series, and his third "Hellboy" movie.
Regarding the status of "Hulk," del Toro said things are currently "inactive" and "in a holding pattern," and have been "for the last eight months," once again mentioning that mysterious writer.
The outlook on "Hellboy 3" isn't much sunnier than it is on "Hulk," but del Toro at the very least is trying to get Big Red off the ground for a third film.
"It's hard to find who finances it," he explained. "It's the biggest chapter of the three movies. Hellboy becomes the beast of the apocalypse. We've inquired, but so far,...

Anyone who spent any time with a Sega Dreamcast may remember a little game called Sonic Adventure 2. This week at San Diego Comic-Con, during the Sega Sonic Boom event, Sega revealed their bringing the classic back on Psn and Xbla.
Sega really didn't have much to say about the game, but if it's the same Sonic Adventure 2 that mysteriously showed up and vanished from the Xbox Marketplace back in June then we could be looking at an HD remake of the Dreamcast game. Though details we're nearly absent, just seeing the logo had the Comic-Con crowd erupting with joy, as you can see in the video below.
Sonic Adventure 2 (or Sonic Adventure 2 HD, whichever it turns out to be) is part of an ongoing Sega Heritage lineup re-introducing other classic Sega titles in downloadable form, such as the recently revealed Saturn classic, Nights... Into Dreams HD.

Chan Park, president of SuperBot was joined by his team to talk about the mash-up fighter during Sdcc.
Facts: SuperBot loves that one track from Justice. It's all up in everyone of their trailers.
Park led off by explaining the genesis of the game, saying that originally it was going to be developed by Naughty Dog who was in the middle of The Last of Us--so publisher Sony simply decided to start up SuperBot from scratch to build All-Stars. Development started about three years ago with a hand-picked development team with a lot of experience in the fighting game experience.
Game designer Omar Kendall says that the appeal of joining the team came from his passion for fighting games along with his love of the characters populating All-Stars.
He continued that the game is a celebration of PlayStation history, with each level being a mashup of two different worlds--for instance,...

He cooks, he's cool and now he's written a graphic novel.
Anthony Bourdain, who cut his teeth in the CBGBs punk world back in the day, was at San Diego Comic-Con promoting Vertigo's "Get Jiro," the celebrity chef's futuristic graphic novel set in a world (of possible fantasy wish fulfillment?) where cooks rule the streets like crime lords.
MTV Geek's Steven Smith sat down with the "No Reservations" star to talk about his foray into geekdom.
"I've been a serious collector of comics since I was six years old," Bourdain said during MTV Geek's live stream. His love of pre-code comics took over not long afterward. "I liked antisocial, violent comics. Early EC's, Mad Magazine, Jack Davis, Wally Wood, Will Eisner." He collected early '60s Marvel Comics and Batman. But next came the underground; stuff like R. Crumb. "When the first underground comics came out […] my tiny,...
