Melanie De Voe Talley Whatley

Melanie is a graduate of the Spence School in New York City and Choate
Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. She attended Syracuse
University, Columbia University and La Varenne Culinary School in
France. Melanie has worked in public relations, sales and marketing for
various luxury retail firms in New York City. Her first documentary
production is The Tartan Apple (2003). Melanie's grandfather, Truman H. Talley, was a producer
for Fox Movietone News. He acted in News Parade (1928), edited The Devil Tiger (1934), and
directed Borneo (1937). His documentaries Soldiers of the Sky (1941) and Life of a Thoroughbred (1941) were nominated
for the Best Documentary - Short Subject category for the 1942 Academy
Awards.
