The official website for the Utagoe ha Mille-Feuille project unveiled a new unit named Parabola on September 1. The unit is heavily involved in the upcoming storyline, reigning as the pinnacle of the college a cappella world, the site describes. The five members of Parabola are designed by illustrator Cheriko , who also worked on the members of the project's main unit, Temarizawa High School A Cappella Club. In 2020, Naoya Fujita won the Japanese Short Film Competition of Skip City International D-Cinema with “Stay” (2019). The official website of Laid-Back Camp revealed a brand new trailer for the third season of the anime on March 14, 2024. The trailer previews the opening and ending theme songs of the anime.
Kiminone performed the opening theme song “Laid-Back Journey,” whereas Asaka performed the series’ ending theme song “So Precious”.
Accompanying the trailer was a new visual depicting the camping trip that Nadeshiko, Rin, and Ayano went to, as well as the camping trip embarked upon by Chiaki, Aoi, and Ena.
Laid-Back Camp season 3, titled Yuru Camp△ SEASON3, is scheduled to start airing on April 4, 2024.
For the 3rd season, the animation production studio has been shifted from C-Station to Eight Bit. Studio C-Station worked on the first two seasons of the anime along with an anime film adaptation.
With the change in production company, the main staff members have also been renewed. Shin Tosaka will serve as the new director,...

That Laid-Back Camp would be back for a third season was confirmed way back in October 2022, but the season itself is going to premiere on April 4, 2024, nearly a year and a half after the original announcement. Following years of directing music videos and shorts, Taichi Kimura unleashes his impressive first feature film, “Afterglows.” Shot in black and white, the film also features a screenplay by the trio Ryosuke Asano, Takuma Hiramatsu, and Yasuhiro Kim. The movie had its international premiere at the Japannual Film Festival.

Cab driver Akira Morishima is grief-stricken following the death of his girlfriend, Sayuri Komatsu, a successful singer who tragically committed suicide. While on the job, he listens to a radio essay named “Afterglows,” which prompts him to reflect on memories with his deceased lover. Yet, while Akira desperately tries to move on with his life, his obsessions become more depraved, and his grip on reality loosens. Eventually, his life spirals out of control.
While its narrative and stylistic choices may seem familiar, “Afterglows” is still full of surprises.

The Japanese selection of Skip City International D-Cinema 2023, despite the fact that the diversity in terms of selection was significant, proved, essentially, the obvious. When Japanese filmmakers try to follow the recipes of the festival-favorite local directors the result is films that are either repetitive, or dull, or both, and most of the times much worse than the works of the aforementioned, with the lack of tension in particular bordering on the rather annoying. However, when they let their imagination free, both in terms of context and cinematic techniques, the result is surprisingly good, definitely in terms of the former, but frequently also of the latter. In that fashion, and considering the fact that I did not manage to watch every film, the ones that stood out where “My Mother's Eyes”, “Alien's Daydream”, and “Don't Go”
