1965 to 1969 studied social pedagogy in Hanover, graduated with state recognition and diploma; 1980 to 1982 studied psychology in Hamburg, 1998 trained as mediator at Lüneburg University.
1969 worked in the social service of the city of Lüneburg, 1972 head of the drug counseling center Diakonisches Werk Lüneburg; 1981 leadership supervision office Regional Court Lüneburg; 1990 coordinator of the probation service; member of the visiting commission of the state of Lower Saxony for the penal system; teaching position at the University of Applied Sciences Northeast Lower Saxony.
