Max Kortlander(1890-1961)

Composer, songwriter, pianist and record company executive, educated at
Oberlin College and the American Conservatory in Chicago, Illinois. In
1916 he made piano-roll recordings, and by 1931 he was president of a
record company. Joining ASCAP in 1920, his chief musical collaborator
was J. Will Callahan, and his popular-song compositions include "Tell Me", "Any
Time, Any Day, Any Where", "Red Moon", and "Bygones", among
others.
