Michael Rene Rodriguez was born in New York, NY to Melquiades and William Rodriguez, a building superintendent. His family is from Ponce and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He attended the Bronx High School of Science, before the family moved south to Naples, Florida in 1972. His father passed away a week after Michael graduated high school in 1974. To get closer to NYC, he attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he studied to be a teacher, and acting, performing in the Theatre Workshop under Dr. James Gross. After graduation, he pursued a career as a manufacturer's rep in the Rocky Mountains, while doing commercials and industrial films steadily since 1985. Got into SAG by volunteering as an extra to swallow raw oysters in a Red Lobster commercial in 1985. He retired from 42 years working is sales, and as a business owner in real estate, to pursue his passion for acting full-time in 2020.
Today he lives in Central Florida, with family, two dogs, and three parrots.
