Beatrice Lecompte-Rousseau
- Make-Up Department
-Set designer and make-up artist Béatrice Lecomte-Rousseau likes to combine the technical side of theater with the effervescence of a creative process, from its genesis to its culmination on stage or screen. In designing the costumes for Les Reines collective's ".es - chapitre 1 - soi" in 2020, she treads the fine line between costume and styling, anchoring a design in reality. This same boundary is explored when working on sets or more commercial installations.
Originally a make-up artist, Béatrice has worked as much for the stage - "Made in Beautiful" (Théâtre Kata, Centre du Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui), "Le Polygraphe" (La Bordée) and "Salle de Nouvelles" (co-produced by Théâtre Niveau Parking, du Trident and Duceppe) - as well as for the screen - including the web-series "Réplique" (Trident), the tele-theatre "Ce qu'on respire sur Tatouine" (Trident) and the series "Barkskins" (Fox 21 Television Studios) - and even occasionally teaches theatrical make-up. With .le faux .collectif, of which she is a founding member, she has been exploring since 2020 how scenography can be the instigator of a show. Combining a background in design, literature and history with that of scenography, she's always seeking to perfect new techniques, while drawing inspiration from tried-and-tested methods.
