Reece Grant is a Black British film director, writer, editor and recipient of the Prince William BAFTA Bursary. Reece's most notable work is his short film called THE HOOD, which he wrote, directed, produced, and edited in 2014 at the age of 19 while studying Cert HE Practical Filmmaking at Met Film School. THE HOOD has achieved significant success, amassing 2 million YouTube views. Reece was born and raised in South East London, Lewisham. He pursued studies in practical filmmaking and screenwriting at Met Film School and Raindance. With a decade of experience in the field, Reece's most notable work is his short film called THE HOOD, which he wrote, directed, produced, and edited in 2014 at the age of 19 while studying Cert HE Practical Filmmaking at Met Film School. THE HOOD has achieved significant success, amassing 2 million YouTube views. Reece is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and crafting commercially accessible stories with social commentary that prominently feature black actors. In 2021, Reece was chosen as one of the 40 emerging writers, directors, and producers for the British Independent Film Awards 2021-22 Mentorship programme. In 2022, he was shortlisted as one of the 35 directors for Center Frame's Get it Made short film pitch competition. Reece has also been honored with the 2022 Prince William BAFTA Bursary.
