- Was a radio DJ in Ireland on 2fm
- He is co-host of Ireland AM, TV3's weekday breakfast show. He joined TV3 from his mid-morning talk and music programme on Today FM, following seven years presenting on Dublin's 98FM.
- He started his career in broadcasting when he joined RTE (Ireland) in 1977. He was part of the original line-up of 2FM (Radio 2), broadcasting on its first night on air - 31 May 1979.
- Has two sons and two daughters with his second wife
- He was voted Irish Television Personality of the Year at the 3rd Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA's) (November 5, 2005)
- His first wife, Ann, died of a brain hemorrhage on their 11th wedding anniversary
