John Oates held very little back as he discussed his ongoing legal battle with Daryl Hall and the threadbare nature of the duo’s relationship in recent years in a new Good Morning America interview.
Late last year, Hall filed a restraining order against Oates in an effort to stop Oates from selling his half of their business venture, Whole Oates Enterprises, to Primary Wave. Hall, in legal documents, described the sale as a “completely clandestine and bad faith move,” a characterization Oates disputed.

With its riveting story and incredible 11-season run, Frank Darabont’s horror-drama series, The Walking Dead, has solidified its place in popular culture. The AMC series ended its run after 177 overwhelming and entertaining episodes, but it is still winning our hearts. Indeed, the undead universe is thriving more than ever, as evidenced by several acclaimed spin-off series, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, starring the inimitable Norman Reedus.

Due to its great popularity, the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has already been renewed. Well, if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, you probably already know that the cast and crew spend a lot of time together filming. And with such close quarters and long hours on set, it’s no surprise that they might have a complaint or two about each other.

In the post-apocalyptic horror world of The Walking Dead, relationships can be fleeting and rare. Daryl Dixon, the beloved loner played by Norman Reedus, has suffered from a fair amount of grief and heartbreak throughout the series. So when a potential love interest came knocking in the form of Leah (played by Lynn Collins) in season 10, fans were thrilled as well as hesitant.
Can a man hardened by loss and survival find space for romance in a world overrun by walkers? Well, regrettably, following his brief on-screen romance with Collins in season 10, Reedus had to deal with the wrath of The Walking Dead fans, who were gripped by intense emotions.

Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, is arguably the most riveting character in The Walking Dead franchise.
Calculating and cold-hearted at times but comforting when she needs to be, Carol walks the line between hero and anti-hero, never once failing to bring pathos to her character.
Imagine the intrigue of fans when AMC Networks announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 will be subtitled "The Book of Carol."
Hmm. We've got to do something about that title.
What does "The Book of Carol" mean, anyway? Is it a biblical allusion like The Book of Enoch or The Book of Eli?
Or is "The Book of Carol" in reference to a book Carol is writing during her time away from the original Grimes clan, perhaps a book of poetry inspired by non-confrontational walkers?
Carol's presence on The Walking Dead, while mesmerizing, is not exactly a strong narrative pull, at least as a singular protagonist.

While the main character of his story, like many here, Patrick Jane is no classic hero. [This story contains spoilers from The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.]
Years after his presumed death, Rick Grimes is not only alive and well, but fully back in action.
By the end of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, the Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira-starring and produced limited series, the powerhouse duo of Rick and Michonne officially reunited. Not just with each other, but with their family and friends. Having dismantled the nefarious Crm from the inside, the titular “ones who live” earned their way back to the Alexandria safe zone they called home for so many seasons, with Rick reuniting with his daughter for the first time in years, and meeting his son Rj for the first time ever.
All’s well that ends well, right? Just one problem: it ain’t over just yet.

John Waters is taking issue with Canada’s moniker of being full of the friendliest citizens — at least not when it comes to cinema ratings.
Waters told the Toronto Star that in 1970, the Ontario censor board allegedly burned a print of his film “Multiple Maniacs,” which had been sent for a rating. Waters didn’t hold back his half-century-long disdain for the offense: “Tell them I spit on their grave,” the “Pink Flamingos” and “Hairspray” filmmaker said.
“I am pro-Canada, even though I sent ‘Multiple Maniacs’ to the distributor [in 1970], which had to go through the Ontario censor board, and they sent me a receipt that just said ‘destroyed.’ They burned the print!” Water said. “Tell them I spit on their grave.”
He added that since that experience, he’s worked in Canada multiple times.

Turns out, Danny Trejo actually might be wielding a machete soon, as the eponymous franchise is still on track to be a trilogy. During a recent discussion with Rob Zombie for Interview magazine, the almost-80-year-old actor Trejo incorrectly stated that “Machete” and “Machete Kills” director Robert Rodriguez “sold part” of the franchise, and therefore it’s unlikely another will be made.
“God, I guess Robert [Rodriguez] screwed up and sold part of ‘Machete,'” Trejo said, “to Russians or something. Everyone always asks, ‘When are you doing “Machete Kills in Space?”‘” Director Zombie added that he’d love to see “Machete Kills in Space,” saying, “I thought for sure it was going to happen. It’s so ridiculous.”
However, Rodriguez exclusively told IndieWire that Trejo’s comments are thankfully “incorrect” and a third “Machete” film may still slice up cinemas soon.
“I retain all the rights,” Rodriguez told IndieWire in an email.

The first season of “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” wrapped up last night, and it brought along with it a first look at “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.”
The second season of the Daryl Dixon spinoff series brings Melissa McBride’s Carol back into the fold, and you can catch up with both characters by watching AMC’s preview below.
AMC opens up “The Book of Carol” in Summer 2024. Stay tuned.
As you may recall, the “Daryl Dixon” spinoff had originally been announced as a Daryl/Carol spinoff series, so it’s essentially returning to those original plans in its second season.
“The Daryl Dixon spinoff series tracks Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale.
In some ways, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live marks the end of an era for AMC‘s long-running zombie franchise.
As fans saw in the Rick and Michonne spinoff’s sixth and final episode, the story of The Walking Dead‘s central lawman appears to have come to a satisfying conclusion (for the time being at least). Following many years in the figurative and literal wilderness, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) return home to Alexandria in “The Last Time” where Rick reunites with his daughter Judith (Cailey Fleming) and meets his son R.J. (Antony Azor). It’s the rarest of occasions for The Walking Dead: an honest-to-goodness happy ending.
Of course, The Walking Dead isn’t a big fan of endings, happy or otherwise. Though the flagship series concluded with its 11th season,...

The clip, unveiled during last night’s Parish season premiere, features Melissa McBride’s Carol determined to find answers to her friend Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) whereabouts, no matter what it takes.
“Don’t move. Keep your guns down. Where is my friend?” Carol asks, armed with a crossbow.
Per the logline: The new season picks up where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon left off, with both confronting old demons while Carol struggles to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest.
In addition to Reedus and McBride, The Book of Carol stars Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney.

Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier have long been one of The Walking Dead‘s most beloved duos, but they’ve been separated in the franchise for some time. Melissa McBride made a triumphant return in the final scene of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1, and she’s back on the hunt for her friend in the first teaser of Season 2, titled The Book of Carol. In the teaser, released on April 1 (the morning after The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live concluded), Daryl (Norman Reedus) is in France trying to take down Marion Genet’s (Anne Carrier) car. Carol, meanwhile, is seen back in Georgia. It’s the moments immediately after her Season 1 finale appearance, where she came across a stranger driving Daryl’s motorcycle. She trapped the man in her trunk, and the season ended with her driving off down the road to the auto shop where he got it.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was a special 6-episode spin-off from the original The Walking Dead series that told the story of what happened to some of the characters after the conclusion of the original series. Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, and Pollyanna McIntosh reprised their roles as Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Jadis Stokes / Anne respectively, with the series receiving generally positive reviews and is considered an important part of The Walking Dead canon.
Now, the series ended on March 31, 2024, and The Hollywood Reporter sat down with the two main stars of the series – Lincoln and Gurira – to discuss the series’ emotional ending and how the story of the spin-off shaped canon.
The series – Spoiler Alert – ends happily, with the main characters surviving the events of the spin-off and are now in for a “happily ever after” scenario, which, as the actors revealed, was something that had to happen.

[This story contains major spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale.]
And the ones who lived lived happily ever after. The end.
For now.
The six-episode limited series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has reached its conclusion, bringing the story of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira’s Michonne to a close, if only for the time being. Heading into the reunion series, there was little doubt Rick and Michonne would join together again and kick a staggering amount of butt along the way. Would they survive said butt-kickings? Another question entirely. But the Ones Who Live finale answered that concern with a resounding victory for Rick and Michonne, who not only stop the villainous Crm from waging war against an innocent city, but manage to do it all with time to get back to their family in Alexandria.

Almost fourteen years ago, The Walking Dead, the TV show, came into our lives and became an instant favorite. There had been movies and shows with post-apocalyptic themes and zombies before, but the way The Walking Dead managed to influence pop culture was simply unparalleled. The comic books and the video game were already there, but it was the TV show that propelled this franchise to the heights of unimaginable success. And the name Rick Grimes became synonymous with the rise of this gigantic franchise. There shouldn’t be any argument over the fact that the character is the face of the franchise.
Cut to the present. The franchise is still going strong, with one after another spinoff being churned out. But the appeal is long gone. And the only way the franchise could regain some of its past glory is by bringing Rick Grimes back, who took an exit...

“What We,” written by Michonne herself, Danai Gurira, is the fourth episode in AMC’s “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.” Serving as an emotional climax for Michonne and Rick’s journey, the episode unravels much like a play (which makes sense given Gurira’s background as a playwright). Confined to an abandoned apartment building in the wake of Michonne pulling Rick out of a helicopter, the long-lost lovers finally have some alone time to talk things over.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode 2.
If there’s one thing that AMC’s The Walking Dead universe loves, it’s a time jump. While the first few seasons of the comic book adaptation were easy to follow, we were then hit with multiple skips through time, and fans were left scratching their heads as they fit together an increasingly confusing narrative.
Featuring the much-hyped return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as Rick Grimes and Michonne, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live brings the star-crossed lovers together after years apart. Unfortunately for those who were expecting a simplistic Romeo & Juliet with zombies, The Ones Who Live has already hit us with multiple time jumps. Sigh, it’s time to consult The Walking Dead timeline again.

The legendary “Pulp of Trash,” John Waters hasn’t directed a feature film since A Dirty Shame back in 2004, but The Guardian reports this week that the Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, and Serial Mom director will soon be making a long-awaited return with a brand new movie!
The Guardian reports this morning, “Hairspray director John Waters is about to start production on his first feature film for 20 years, with Aubrey Plaza as the lead.”
The film is titled Liarmouth, an adaptation of Waters’ same titled novel from 2022.
Liarmouth is “a feel-bad romance,” with the novel billing it as “a hilariously filthy tale of sex, crime, and family dysfunction from the brilliantly twisted mind of John Waters.”
“Liarmouth centers on a scammer and compulsive liar called Marsha Sprinkle who splits from her partner Daryl and steals from both her daughter and her mother.”

20 years after the release of his last film “A Dirty Shame,” shock film icon John Waters might be returning to the director’s chair very soon.
In an interview with The Baltimore Fishbowl on December 22 about his famous annual Christmas parties, the “Pink Flamingos” and “Hairspray” filmmaker revealed that he has finished the script for “Liarmouth,” a film adaptation of his own 2022 novel of the same name. Waters further said that he turned the script over to the producers — it’s set up at Village Roadshow Pictures, which optioned the novel — and that he is currently waiting on the budget for the project.
“I’ve written the script and I turned it in and they like it and we’re doing a budget,” Waters told the Baltimore Fishbowl. “Who knows? We’ll see. We’ll see.”
“Liarmouth: A Feel-Bad Romance” focuses on con artist Martha Sprinkles, nicknamed Liarmouth, and her romance with fellow scammer Daryl.

A Nashville judge ruled Thursday that John Oates must remain in a holding pattern and take no “further action” to sell his half of his business partnership with Daryl Hall against Hall’s wishes. Oates must wait for the arbitrator selected in the famed duo’s previously filed arbitration to resolve the now highly public battle over the fate of Hall & Oates’ intellectual property, the judge said.

The tranquil world of Hall & Oates was rocked this week by news that the longtime duo are in the midst of a nasty legal battle. The exact details are sealed, but we do know that Daryl Hall was granted a temporary restraining order against John Oates. There’s also a trademark dispute of some sort. (Representatives for both artists have not returned e-mails from Rolling Stone seeking comment.)
This is shocking on several levels. Hall & Oates are one of the few duos in music history that seemingly always got along.

Those of you keen on trying out Affordable Cat’s throwback Survival Horror title Loggerhead since it was revealed back in September 2022 are in luck. The solo developer has released the Loggerhead Prologue Demo to Steam and itch.io, which will provide you with around 20-30 minutes of gameplay.
The Loggerhead Prologue Demo sees you navigating the low-fi VHS aesthetic, reminiscent of classic horror titles. Loggerhead sports other Survival Horror throwbacks, with tank controls, fixed camera angles, limited resources, bad haircuts and of course, cringe-worthy voice acting. Players will choose between the two main characters, Daryl and Tracey, exploring, solving puzzles and facing off against ghoulish adversaries. All the while, the game “fearlessly embraces Australia’s 1980s cultural cringe”, injecting humor and local references for both Australian and global players.

The Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (you can read our review Here) is set to continue with a second season that will focus on Daryl’s good friend Carol, played by Melissa McBride – and because of that, the second season has the ridiculous (and ridiculously long) title of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. Thanks to a SAG interim agreement, the show was able to make its way through production while the actors strike was still going on… and now that the strike is over, Deadline has revealed that McBride is joined in the cast of the show by Manish Dayal.
Dayal just wrapped up a six season run on the Fox TV series The Resident. Some of his other credits include The Hundred-Foot Journey, Viceroy House, Holidate, Halt and Catch Fire, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon episode 5.
Through 11 seasons of The Walking Dead and its countless spinoffs, the zombie franchise’s version of the undead have remained stubbornly static. In keeping with comic creator Robert Kirkman’s original vision, Walking Dead zombies have followed the traditional George A. Romero rules for reanimated corpses. That is to say that the show’s titular walkers were slow, unintelligent, and driven by only a vague notion of hunger.
Of course, that’s all started to change of late (as tends to happen when you have more than a decade of storytelling to fill). The final season of The Walking Dead introduced zombies that could climb ladders and turn doorknobs. The lore-heavy post-credit scene of The Walking Dead: World Beyond suggested that French scientists were aware of (or even complicit in the creation of) “variant cohorts” of the undead. The...

Daryl Dixon's journey to France has been infused with horror and hope, but it's hard to have much of the latter after The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 Episode 5.
Sometimes, even the best-laid plans have too many variables, and that's precisely what happened when Daryl tried desperately to get Laurent to the Nest.
Despite Quinn and Isabelle giving them the best shot at getting to their destination, it wasn't meant to be.
Kids doing stupid things has been synonymous with this franchise since The Walking Dead Season 1, but it's hard to be mad at Laurent.
He lost his mother and may never see his aunt and father again, so why shouldn't he hold on to the person who's been trying to save his life?
How can you be mad at a kid who made a rash decision because he feared losing more people?
