- Brother of Richard Sarstedt (aka Eden Kane) and Robin/Clive Sarstedt (aka Wes Sands).
- Sang quite a few best selling records / songs such as "Where do you go to my lovely?", "Frozen orange juice" and "I am a cathedral".
- He was born into a musical family in India. His parents were classical musicians and his brothers, Eden Kane (real name Richard Graham) and Clive Sands (real name Robin) both became pop stars.
- A portion of the "Overture" from the Peter Sarstedt album "As Though It Were A Movie" was used in the classic Keep America Beautiful "Crying Indian" PSA from 1971. It is not clear how this piece of music, which was an Ian Green arrangement, came to be selected for the PSA.
