- Actor
The Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Platinum Blonde drummer Chris Steffler said he got his first glimpse of the rock scene at the Dardanella but didn't really set out to become a rock star, he was just looking for a way out of Collingwood's shipyards. Steffler sent on to become a founding member of the Canadian new wave rock band Platinum Blonde. The band was inducted into the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame on March 12, 2010 at the Canadian Radio Music Awards in Toronto, as part of Canadian Music Week. In his teens, Steffler had a band called Sledge and played at the Dard, at bars in Collingwood and did a gig at a Stayner Collegiate Institute dance.
