There's a chance you might remember an Argentine and Spanish animated foosball film from back in 2013 that was called Futbolin or Metegol. Well, that film got picked up by The Weinstein Company, and they're releasing a dubbed version of the movie featuring an American cast and the new title of Underdogs. Matthew Morrison ("Glee"), singer Ariana Grande, Nicolas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Bell Thorne (Blended), Katie Holmes (Batman Begins) and John Leguizamo all lend their voice to the film about two childhood foosball rivals who battle as one finds their home threatened by the other. Watch! Here's the Us trailer for the animated film Underdogs from The Weinstein Company: Underdogs is directed by Juan Jose Campanella (The Secret in Their Eyes) and based on a short story called Memoirs of a Right Winger by Argentine writer Roberto Fontanarrosa. Check out this fun trailer for the CG animated feature film called Metegol or Foosball in English. The film comes from Academy award winner Juan J. Campanella (The Secret in Their Eyes and episodes of House and 30 Rock). The story is built around the great sport of Foosball! I used to play Foosball all the time, but the sport just got too intense and crazy for me, so I had to give it up for the greater good. Or maybe the Foosball table broke and I just never bothered to fix it or get a new one.
The movie may not be a Pixar or DreamWorks Animation film, but it still looks entertaining. Here's the synopsis:
Metegol, also known as Foosball and Futbolín (Spanish Title), is an upcoming 3D CG animated film directed by Academy award winner Juan J. Campanella (Juan José Campanella) of “The Secret in Their Eyes” (El secreto de sus ojos...

Argentine director Juan José Campanella of the Academy Award winning crime thriller The Secret in Their Eyes is making his first foray into 3D CG animation with Foosball (aka Metegol), a co-production of several Argentinian (Catmandu) and Spanish (Plural-Jempsa, Film Factory Entertainment) production houses. I supposed a miniature soccer figure that can talk is not too much of a stretch of the imagination when theres been a wooden puppet or pull-string cowboy doll that can talk as well in other animated films. The story is based on Memoirs of a Right Winger by Argentine writer Roberto Fontanarrosa. The film tells the story of Amadeo, a shy but talented boy, and of a foosball team that is trying to get back together after having been dismantled....
