To celebrate the forthcoming UK premiere and release of Blood & Glory, we have to honour of exclusively launching the trailer for the film.
Written and directed by Sean Else (Platteland; ‘n Man Soos My Pa), Blood & Glory may be a fictional story but it takes its inspiration from events that unfolded during the Anglo-Boer war in South Africa in 1901.
The cast is made of both British and South African actors that include Charlotte Salt (Beowulf; The Tudors), Patrick Connolly (Inferno; Crushed), Nick Cornwall (Blood Loyal; Retribution) and Josh Myers (Rise of the Footsoldier III; The Sweeney) for the British contingent and Stian Bam (Veraaiers) who plays Morkel, Bok van Blerk (Platteland; Vrou Soek Boer) and acclaimed South African talent Grant Swanby (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom; Invictus; The Fall) fighting for the South African contingent.
Also in trailers – The first teaser for Mary Poppins Returns arrives!

"What if we defeat you?" Cleopatra Entertainment has released an official Us trailer for the South African period epic Blood & Glory, which opened in South Africa in 2016, but is just now getting a Us release direct-to-vod this March. Based on true historical events from South Africa's history, the story is about a man who is taken prisoner during the Second Anglo-Boer War and is sent to the St. Helena concentration camp, where he tries to defeat a Colonal at the game of rugby. Stian Bam stars, along with Charlotte Salt, Josh Myers, Andre Jacobs, Greg Kriek, Nick Cornwall, and Grant Swanby. This actually looks like a film about rugby, or so it seems, with prisoners learning to play in order to battle against the warden. This just seems like an odd story to tell, but I don't know the history in South Africa well enough. Watch below. Here's the official...

"This is our lifeline!" Cinedigm has released another new trailer for a survival thriller titled The Chamber, which first premiered at the Horror Channel FrightFest in 2017. We actually featured a trailer for this one year ago, but it's just now finally getting a release in February. The film is about a Special Ops team that takes a small submersible craft (read: submarine) beneath the Yellow Sea off the coast of North Korea. Some things go wrong, and they end up trapped underwater in a tiny "chamber" - hence the title. The cast includes Charlotte Salt, Johannes Kuhnke, Christian Hillborg, and Elliot Levey. I'm still not really too sure what to make of this, and the release delay seems like a sign it isn't that great. But you never know. Dive in. Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for Ben Parker's The Chamber, direct from YouTube: You can still...

Stars: Johannes Kuhnke, Charlotte Salt, James McArdle, Elliott Levey | Written and Directed by Ben Parker
When submarine pilot Mats (Johannes Kuhnke) is approached by a low-rent Donald Pleasence to take a three-man Special Ops team deep into contested waters near the 38th Parallel, he’s understandably sceptical. Leading the mysterious trio is “Red” Edwards (Charlotte Salt), who’s joined by the belligerent Parks (James McArdle) and the gentle Denholm (Elliott Levey).
While submerged, the top ship is boarded, and suddenly the four explorers are trapped together in the underwater chamber. To add vinegar to the wound, catastrophe strikes and they start taking on water. Tensions fray. Clichéd dialogue is exchanged. Who, if anyone, will emerge alive?
The Chamber is the feature debut for writer-director Ben Parker, and it’s a pretty standard micro-budget setup: a high-concept thriller almost entirely confined to a single set. Sadly, it’s a bit of...

Tagline: "His Collection is Almost Complete." *there are spoilers here. Director: Matt Winn. Writers: James Handel, Matt Winn and Chris Denne. Cast: Mischa Barton, Robert Knepper, Valene Kane, Charlotte Salt and Emily Atack. The Hoarder joins a growing collection of horror films set in a storage facility. From Storage (2009) to Self Storage (2013), this setting keeps production costs down and the characters trapped with the confines of a warehouse. This time, the characters are trapped like rats; but, something is trapped inside with them. A caged hamster symbolizes the characters' upcoming predicament. Meanwhile, the characters are so flawed by various vices that they are unable to help themselves or the others to escape. This makes the villain's murderous tasks that much easier. As well, The Hoarder offers a late social message on letting the past go. However, this message is acknowledged much too late by the protagonist; she is too busy covering up her indiscretions.

2.10 Trial And Punishment
So this is it, the end of series 2. It’s been a fair old journey with some excellent highs and fortunately not many lows (not to mention far too many interruptions – damn you sport and charity!). The series finale often seems to linger, perhaps unfairly, as the one remembered by most and considered a yard stick for the run as a whole. In that respect, Trial And Punishment (written by Simon Allen and directed by Nicholas Renton), is a fitting end to what has been a really strong season.
Perhaps the most vivid image from last week's preview was of a haunted Constance being led to the executioner. It was with some surprise then, that this opened the episode, as...

This week's penultimate series two episode sets the stage for a memorable Musketeers finale...

2.9 The Accused
Written by The Return's Simon J Ashford and directed by Nicholas Renton (who also directs next week's finale), The Accused continues straight on from the end of The Prodigal Father and fortunately loses little of the pace and impact.
Yes, The Accused had much to live up to, as it was clear the Musketeers’ world was about to be turned upside down as Rochefort’s plan finally kicked into high gear. Not only that, but as the penultimate episode of the season, its job was clear – bring everything together to deliver a finale fitting of the highs that the show has routinely hit. I’m pleased to say that the scene is set for a memorable series end.
Stepping into such esteemed shoes as Capaldi’s was always going to be a big ask,...

TV Pick of the Week
Southcliffe, Channel 4's new four-part drama about a spree killing in an English village, was always going to be too relentlessly bleak for some tastes. However, if you could stomach the storyline, the first two episodes of the series (oddly scheduled on successive evenings) were utterly captivating television.
Unflinching, bold and harrowing, it posed uncomfortable questions and didn't hold back or censor the experience for viewers.
Sean Harris's performance as local outsider 'The Commander' was pitch perfect and scarily real, while Rory Kinnear as homecoming TV reporter and Anatol Yusef as sleazy cheat Paul, who loses his family in the tragedy, are also worthy of special note in a series that is overflowing with stunning actors and gut-wrenching moments.
Yes, the lingering camera shots were possibly a bit over-egged. And, yes, the regular jumping backwards and forwards in time was slightly frustrating. However,...

Feel-good family-friendly Christmas movies are a dime a dozen, and so are films about independent young women unexpectedly becoming royalty through a “spontaneous” romance that proves she’s in love and not seeking riches and titles. A Princess for Christmas, directed by Michael Damian, blends these two genres together and comes out with a mangled, simplistic story filled with wooden acting, stilted writing, and a chain of events that make little sense save for the fact that they’re prerequisites for any basic “average girl becomes a princess” kind of film. It’s unfortunate that the basic structure and elements are so horribly executed because there are enough strong cast members, like Merlin’s Katie McGrath, Charlotte Salt, and Roger Moore, that a more talented director could have made a memorable holiday distraction.

Last year’s Season 1 of BBC America‘s Bedlam was super. It featured twisty creepy stories of twenty-somethings who lived in recently modernized flats that had once been part of a mental institution. Unbeknownst to them, there were other, less-corporeal residents there as well. The new season takes place in the same building with a new name.

Philip Glenister is back with a bang – literally. Ok so the bang came right at the end of the episode but nevertheless Glenister’s new show Hidden has all the hallmarks of being hit. The Comic Strip returns to British TV on Friday 14th October as Channel 4 air a one-off special entitled The Hunt for Tony Blair. The former Prime minister’s fall from grace may be no laughing matter for his political supporters but comedy writers Peter Richardson and Pete Richens have a rather different take on the matter.
In this film noir style caper Stephen Mangan plays Tony Blair as he tries to evade the authorities after committing a murder after a rough day at number 10. The hapless politician seeks refuge at the home of Inspector Hutton (Robbie Coltrane) and before the hunt is over he also has a run in with the Maggie Thatcher (Jennifer Saunders). Harry Enfield, John Sessions and...

Chicago – As much fun as that headline might make it sound, “Bedlam,” premiering stateside tonight, October 1, 2011, on BBC America, is pretty goofy. A little bit of supernatural behavior mixed with cheesy soap dynamics might have made for a fun Autumn diversion but nothing in “Bedlam” is “little.” Everything is so far over-the-top that it can’t even see it any more and the ridiculousness of it all sinks the entertainment value.

Picture a former mental asylum that has been spruced up to hide all the atrocities that were committed there. A fresh coat of paint, some wallpaper here, new shrubbery there; and the place is as good as new. And then the owners turn it into an apartment block. Great thinking, but as we know, you can't hide the ghosts with a simple trip to Sherwin-Williams. This is "Bedlam."
Originally airing in February and March on UK's Sky Living HD Channel, "Bedlam" will be making its domestic debut in October as part of BBC America's Supernatural Saturdays. One of the three series creators, David Allison, and star Theo James sat down with us at San Diego Comic-Con 2011 to discuss the series' jump across the pond.

If past years are any indication, Comic-Con will begin releasing its official 2011 panel schedule later today (Wednesday) with the schedule for Preview Night, Wednesday, July 20. If that happens then we can expect them to follow suit for the rest of the days, so that Thursday will see the release of the Thursday of Con schedule, etc., through Sunday.
Once the official schedules are posted these “TV and Movie Panels and Screenings Updates” will be scaled back to just the date, time, title, and location, since the rest of the information and So Much More (including comics panels, autograph signings, etc.) will be available on the Comic-Con schedule link we’ll provide. Consider this, then, the last of the extremely long posts, and hopefully we’ll be getting that official schedule soon.
Hmm, here’s an interesting matchup: Glee will be in Hall H on Sunday at 10:00; Supernatural will be...

BBC America is sticking to what works best: science fiction with fancy British accents.
The network announced premiere dates for two new original series, and both imports have a supernatural twist.
First up is "Outcasts" on Saturday, June 18, at 9:00 p.m Et. The 2040-set drama follows the struggles of settlers on the fictional planet of Carpathia after a nuclear conflict forces them to flee earth. It features a familiar faces like Jamie Bamber ("Battlestar Galactica"), Eric Mabius ("Ugly Betty") and Liam Cunningham ("Clash of the Titans").
Don't plan on getting too attached though. The BBC canceled "Outcasts" at the end of its original eight-episode run, so that's all there is.
Later in the year, "Bedlam" launches Saturday, Oct. 8, at 9:00 p.m. Et. The drama follows the tenants of an apartment building that's haunted by the inhabitants of its former iteration... a pre-Victorian lunatic asylum. It stars Charlotte Salt...

Singer Will Young is set for a spooky new role - he's landed the lead in an upcoming British thriller series. The "Leave Right Now" hitmaker made his acting debut in 2005 by appearing opposite Dame Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins in "Mrs. Henderson Presents".
He followed it up with a starring role in Noel Coward play "The Vortex" in 2007 and earlier this year appeared in British teen drama "Skins". And he's continuing with his small screen stardom by taking on a role in "Bedlam", a new drama set in a former psychiatric hospital haunted by ex-inmates, according to Britain's The Sun.
Young says, "I'm so excited to be part of Bedlam. The scripts are original and fantastic, as are the other actors involved. I can't wait to get my teeth into the role." The series, also starring Theo James and Charlotte Salt, is set to air on U.K. network Living early next year.

The Tudors Season 3 is finally here. The premiere may not hit Showtime until April 5, but you can watch it now right on Buzzfocus. If you thought season 2 was dark, just wait for the Henry to take the gloves off in season 3. Episode 1, 'Fundamentals,' introduces two new characters to the King Henry VIII's court. The first is Sir Francis Bryan (Alan Van Sprang), a distinguished diplomat, soldier, sailor, poet & writer. He was an infamous rake and libertine. Bryan was a man who dared to speak his mind to the King; on foreign missions he could on occasion be equally outspoken, if not arrogant. He lost an eye in a joust in 1526. There are no paintings of him because of this. We'll also meet Bryan's mistress Ursula Misseldon (Charlotte Salt), Lady-In-Waiting to Queen Jane.
