In recent years, Netflix has made a lot of changes to its standard operating procedures, and one that is becoming increasingly part of its release plans is breaking up series into blocks. The world’s largest streaming service will release the second half of “Bridgerton” Season 3 in June looking to capitalize on the success of the first four episodes that were released last month. Also coming to the streaming giant this month will be the final season of fantasy drama series “Sweet Tooth,” the Glen Powell-led action comedy “The Hitman” and much more.

Hannah Dodd didn’t mean to audition for Bridgerton. Then again, she didn’t mean not to.
It was the spring of 2022 and Dodd was responding to a casting call. She had “no idea” what the project was — the title and character name were kept tightly under wraps — only that she would be playing a Regency-era maiden. And while most auditions require multiple scenes, here she was only asked to perform one: a scene where she would play a guest at a ball. Normally, Dodd would do a ton of...

It’s well known that in her decades-long career, Shonda Rhimes — the writer behind such television sensations as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “Bridgerton” — has smashed pervasive racist-casting tropes, and in doing so, changed the literal face of TV, whether that meant having “Scandal” revolve around Kerry Washington’s antihero Olivia Pope or elevating Regé-Jean Page to thirsty heights as a Black duke in Regency England on “Bridgerton.”
What’s talked about less is how Rhimes has changed the way people speak. Any parent of a teenager who’s heard the derisive usage of “pick me” from Meredith’s “Pick me! Choose me! Love me!” speech in Season 2 of “Grey’s Anatomy” — used to describe, according to the Urban Dictionary, “a woman that is willing to do anything for male approval” — can tell you of Rhimes’ enduring power. Especially since that oratory was delivered in 2005, and given new life on TikTok.

Polin season gets underway on Bridgerton when the series returns in May, and Netflix has dropped quite the teaser to tide us over.
We’re unsure whether the clip was released to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but before you get too excited, there’s a severe lack of romance. That isn’t very Bridgerton of you, Netflix.
Instead, we see Colin (Luke Newton) getting an icy reception from Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
The reason?
Penelope overheard the man she’d been pining for telling everyone he’d never court her.
So, she’s shocked when he dares to say he now misses her.
Penelope is done with Colin the Bridgerton Season 3 teaser
“You miss me, but you would never court me. Is that correct?” she wondered before telling him she had heard everything he said about her.
To her bewilderment, he wants to take the exchange away from the public’s prying eyes.

Netflix debuted a one-minute clip from Bridgerton season three during a special fan event featuring the cast, showrunner Jess Brownell, executive producer Shonda Rhimes, and author Julia Quinn. The clip, which was brought online immediately following the event, focuses on the prickly relationship between Penelope and Colin at the beginning of the long-awaited new season.
During the spoiler-free event, Rhimes said she’s most excited that this new season features a love story between characters we already know and root for. She also teased that a lot of characters will be finding themselves in new, interesting situations.
“Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen,” added Jess Brownell.

Netflix has debuted a new batch of first-look images of Penelope and Colin’s budding romance in season 3 of ‘Bridgerton.’
Season 3 will be based on ‘Romancing Mister Bridgerton,’ the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s series. The third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally giving up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.
But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

Lady Whistledown had a Christmas present for Bridgerton fans.
The Netflix series left something under the Bridgerton tree when it delivered five first-look photos at season three on Monday.

The third season of the hit Shondaland series will have a new showrunner, with Jess Brownell taking over from creator Chris Van Dusen, and will focus on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) for what is sure to be the will-they-won’t-they romance talk of the ton. Netflix is offering another first look from Bridgerton‘s “steamy” Season 3, which returns for two parts in 2024.
It includes new images of the couple whose budding romance is at the center of the new season, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) — known by fans as #Polin — as well as a first official photo of the new Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd.
As Deadline reported exclusively in 2022, Dodd is taking over the role of Francesca from Ruby Stokes, who played the elusive Bridgerton sibling in the first two seasons of the hugely popular Shondaland period drama based on the novels by Julia Quinn.
The new photos, which follow the June release of Colin and Penelope Season 3 first-look images, provide a glimpse of all Bridgerton siblings except for the eldest, Season 1 subject Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) as Dynevor left the series after Season 2.

Ready for another rendezvous with the ton?
“Bridgerton” is returning to Netflix in 2024, with the third season of the period drama waltzing onto streaming in two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16, and the next four will be available to stream on June 13.
Along with the announcement, Netflix released a video stitching together previously seen footage with TikToks and social media posts from fans eager to revisit the upper crust of Regency-era London.
The Shondaland series will jump right into Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) romance in Season 3, diverting from the Julia Quinn books it’s based on. Meanwhile, Penelope will have to deal with her rift with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), who, according to Netflix’s description, has found a new friend in an unlikely place. With a growing presence in the ton, Penelope is challenged with keeping her Lady Whistledown alter ego under wraps.

He landed at Sundance in the U.S. Dramatic Competition with Ballast in 2008 and would end up winning the Directing Award and Cinematography Award (Lol Crawley) and would end up receiving a lot of recognition via the Gothams and Indie Spirits and then Lance Hammer disappeared from the filmmaking scene … that is until last April when he shot his sophomore feature in London with the great Juliette Binoche. Exclusive: Oscar winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient), Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Tom Courtenay (Doctor Zhivago), Emmy winner Anna Calder-Marshall (Wuthering Heights) and Bridgerton breakout Florence Hunt are currently filming under-the-radar feature drama Queen At Sea in the UK.
Plot is largely being kept under wraps but we understand Binoche will play a woman who moves back to London with her teenage daughter (Hunt) amid concern for her ageing mother (Calder-Marshall).
The film will mark the second feature for writer-director Lance Hammer who 15 years ago made his debut with well-received Sundance drama Ballast, which won two awards in Park City, and played a host of festivals before winning the filmmaker a Gotham award for breakthrough director and garnering six Indie Sprit nominations.

“Hello there, this is Jonny Bailey, reporting for sleep story duty,” Bailey says in the story, a clip of which you can play above. “Tonight I’ll be reading you a letter written by the captain of the Hms Dreamscape.”
Bailey said in a statement he’s listened to various sleep stories over the years and “it’s an honor” to release his own. “I hope people cosily doze off as they set sail with me on the tropical seas,” he added.

“Bridgerton’s” family patriarch Anthony Bridgerton won’t be retiring to the country forever now that he’s found his Viscountess in Kate. Jonathan Bailey, who plays the Viscount and eldest Bridgerton sibling, says he will return to the show.
“100,” he told TheWrap Wednesday night, when we asked if he would be coming back to the show in some sort of capacity.
Each season of the show is expected to focus on a different “Bridgerton” sibling falling in love and finding a partner, thus shifting the focus to new leads in every series. Bailey’s character, though, does feature throughout the books. Like with Daphne in Season 1, Anthony, at least in the books, is involved in various situations that involve his siblings’ marriages.

Bridgerton season one arrived on December the 25th 2020 like a highly decorated Christmas gift. Unwrapped, it was a perfect confection of untaxing indulgence, romance and escapism. It told the story of Daphne and Simon, a debutante beauty and an emotionally repressed Duke who teamed up to get everybody off their backs, and who ended up getting on their own backs, and fronts, and sides, and – if I remember this correctly – halfway up the stairs and possibly at one point, a ladder? It was all a marvellous distraction from the real world, with excellent casting that threw open the fusty, cobwebbed door of racially homogeneous period drama to revitalise an over-familiar world.
Now it’s back for season two, with a new romantic plot-line and a bunch of new characters. Here’s who we’ll be meeting across the eight episodes, plus the major returning cast being welcomed back.

Netflix has debuted the full trailer for the highly anticipated second season of ‘Bridgerton.’
The second season follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife. There's a new love story at the wheel of Bridgerton when it returns for its second season on March 25.
Netflix unveiled a full-length trailer for Bridgerton Season 2, and there's a lot to unpack.
At the top of the new footage, Lady Violet Bridgerton gets everyone talking by introducing the competition for her son's heart.
“This is the season the Viscount intends to find a wife,” she says to a packed room.
We are quickly introduced to Kate Sharma and her sister Edwina, who have recently arrived from India.
The trailer teases a complicated romance for Anthony and Kate as they both try to imply they're not into one another.
It makes for many fun scenes, including Anthony tripping over Kate's beautiful dog and falling into a river.
The pair go back and forth in what can only be described as verbal sparring matches.

As previously reported, Bridgerton Season 2 will focus on Anthony Bridgerton's quest for love.
Simone Ashley (Sex Education) is set as the female lead for the delayed second season.
Here is the official logline:
From Shondaland and Creator Chris Van Dusen, the second season of Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife.
Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India.

Netflix's biggest series ever is closing in on a comeback.
The streamer on Saturday dropped a first-look at Bridgerton Season 2, and it's everything we hoped it would be.
Simone Ashley (Sex Education) was announced as the female lead for the second season, to star opposite Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton).
The first teaser shows Anthony meeting with Ashley's character, and the latter is less than thrilled with Anthony's comments on his future wife.
Yes, Anthony has some high demands, and yes, there's going to be a lot of sudsy drama.
It will be fun to see this new love story take place, and it looks very different from Daphne and Simon's road to love in the first season, which is very good in our book.
Charithra Chandran, Shelley Conn (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Calam Lynch, and Rupert Young (The White Queen) have also been added to the cast in...

Not that time matters anymore, but it feels like it’s been a lot longer than nine months since “Bridgerton” caught fire and made the holidays steamy. Now, with plenty of changes in casting and story from the eight-episode season that took hold of Netflix viewer’s imagination, this weekend’s fan event brought our first glimpse of what the show has in store for Season 2.
For starters, this first footage introduces some new key cast members who’ll be central to these new episodes’ high society shenanigans. With breakout star Regé-Jean Page not returning, the show is adding to its core cast of Bridgertons and associates with a handful of fresh faces. Among them is Simone Ashley, who arrives as Kate Sharma, one of the potential partners for the eligible Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).

Production on Bridgerton Season 2 is not going smoothly.
The Netflix juggernaut has been shut down for the second time in a week due to another positive Covid test.
Deadline first reported the news, while also confirming that there is no definite return to production.
The series was first shut down on Thursday for 24 hours after a crew member tested positive, but it was brought to a halt again on Friday due to another positive test.
The indefinite hiatus is concerning because it could suggest that a cast member tested positive for Covid-19.
Bridgerton burst onto screens in December and quickly became a huge success for Netflix, going on to snag a three-season renewal and an order for a spinoff.
Netflix declared Bridgerton to be a success story by saying it was watched by a record 82 million Netflix households around the world and towered above the streamer's other offerings.
